Assensing 1 (auras +2) (14)

I think that should 6?

With that I only got to 380 BP, I assume the 20 BP are split up between the 3 contacts? Can you list the Loyalty and Connection costs you assigned?

I think you may be 5 BP off, can you double check your my math?

I'm not seeing it, even after running it through a character generator.

Attributes (including Resonance) come to 190

Skills come to 174

40 BP of Complex Forms.

15 BP of Qualities.

35 BP of disadvantages,

9 BP of Contacts.

7 BP of Gear.

Comes precisely to 435.

I was getting 430, I'll double check. TM is 5 BP, and Paragon is 5 BP, what are the other 5 BP of Positive qualities?

Ooh! A small error there - I thought Paragon was 10, same as Mentor Spirit.

I'll start with a couple Registered Sprites, then, since I'll need 'em. Say, 2 Tasks on a Paladin, 2 on a Data Sprite.

Oh, and let's add the Mute program option to my Exploit Complex Form, while we're at it. Helps with the stealth theme, eh?

Have included the contacts BP, Loyalty and Connection ratings on Omen's sheet in the OOC thread, DR. Also upped Assensing to 3 (auras +2) for the 14 pts, and clarified that Trid Phantasm is a fetish spell. I think that all adds up to 400BP now.

I have attached Will's character sheet, following (using yall's nifty google docs thing), and his background:

[ Spoiler ]

Will Robinson III

Note that will is an exactly 400BP build, but is not strictly compliant with RAW. I took a number of black market pipelines among his (extensive) deck of contacts, in exchange for a very significant amount of control that Ares has over him (i.e., records on file, his SIN, a cranial bomb, etc.). I could make him RAW-compliant by simply removing the black market pipelines, the Ares controlling qualities, and his muscle augmentation; but I think he is much more interesting this way. As the team is somewhat assembled, that may be academic. However, he's completely ready to roll and useful to any team.

Thanks rob, I'll take a look at your submission and review it. No guarantees. If you are patient it can quite easily happen that I can get you into the game eventually.

You'll either need to know my gmail account to grant access, or "publish as a web page" and give me that link.

e.g http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=r3P...amp;output=html is a public document

DR: Published, at the following link. Will Robinson III

Fixed one accounting error, he should be straight. Black market pipleine savings are taken out of the listed prices for those items that he has access for.

When it comes down to it, the cost savings are largely incidental to the externality of making him a more useful team guy. There are some options to deal with it:

1. I can use the character as is.
2. I could simply dump two out of three of the black market pipleines and get 'born rich', 10 more points of resources, and come out at least 30K wealthier.
3. I could dump the black market pipelines, Bad Luck, the Cranial bomb, the muscle toner and the muscle augmentation (+/- some accounting), and end up both RAW compliant and balanced.
4. I could dump some of the gear and refudge the accounting. This will require dumping some major end items, but is not out of the question.

I'm not indifferent between them - I find Will the most interesting as is; however, the other options don't destroy the character. Option 3 makes him somewhat less effective in combat, but c'est la vie.

Work has swamped me but I'll post an updated CS and double check your math no later than tomorrow evening. (10PM PST)

Just to check in...for those of us that didn't make the first cut, will you be posting here or just send a PM if opportunity arises to get in the game?

Aldan Penrice is still available. I haven't been reading any of the IC stuff, so I don't know if he would work with the campaign or not, but if he would, I'd be interested in playing.

Unless I have clearly stated a particular theme up front, i attempt to make the campaign fit the PCs and players first.

Deek, Aldan Penrice has been added to the OOC Thread, Way of the Yen.

I'd still be up for re-submitting Parker, unless DR is looking for anything in particular to bring to the existing team. I glanced at the last page of both the OOC and IC threads, but didn't see a clear indication of which of the 7 players (from page 1) were still active, which were not, etc - so I'm not sure what roles are needed most, and assume there is a large waiting-list (see page 1) and only one or two openings, so I won't be surprised if infiltration/close-combat isn't the specialty they need (either because its already covered, or they need something else, worse).

Kevin Parker - aka Parker, aka "Tracer"
[ Spoiler ]

Contacts - may adjust once I get around to making the character, and know how many points I have.

You have a well thought out concept, and well built character for it. What I struggle with is how I would work it in, and about the fundamental relationship such a character has with the other PCs. In a sense being the Johnson/Fixer/Company Man in relation to the group is tricky because of two situations. One is the interaction with the PCs, which is not a "normal" PC to PC one, the other is that the archetype typically is the one initiating the story or plot lines on the "professional" side for the characters. That turns it into a situation which requires a different interaction with the GM as well. From experience, having done this in the past, it takes a comfortable working relationship to already be in place for this to work without running into some power play issues. I'm not averse to this, but I want to make sure you have a grasp on how you would work this out.

How do you think your character will be dealing with the other PCs? How will you work this out with the other players and the GM if your character is in this role?

The way I think of this is as follows. (3), below, is the crucial point.

1. My character is not an established Johnson/Fixer/Company Man - even though he has a number of contacts, he has nowhere near enough to be truly relevant in such a task.

2. I wrote his backstory specifically to kind of emphasize his novelty to the shadows - he's wet behind the ears, which will play out a bit. He intends his research sabbatical to be a start towards a career as Johnson/Fixer/Company man, rather than the entrance into that career.

3. The way I see him fitting in on a team, in terms of the more stereotypical archetypes, is a primary face/secondary gun/secondary hacker. Even though he's not built to an optimized face build, he can leverage that by being in a position to see the big picture of what most operations work like. He's not crap in either of the secondaries.

4. WRT the other PCs and the GM, he is still novel to the shadows. He doesn't intend to rush into a leadership position, he's more interested in working out what the others want and advocating for it. He can negotiate with a fence, fixer, etc.; arrange other contacts, and as a working relationship develops he can push the group with whatever he thinks is appropriate.
