So a few friends of mine were talking recently and mentioned that they put cat girls in shadow run, I thought I'd check it out and see what the heck everyone was complaining about, but I can't even find it mentioned I don't even know what book to look for in stores... I know I looked through all the ones the local stores did have (God I hate being in the middle of fucking no where) but I can't find it, so I have a simple question... Where is it found and what's the big deal. (Include Page numbers if you can, thanks!)

Runners Companion has material -- SURGE -- that could be used to make "catgirls," if one were so inclined. But it's not a major part of the setting by any means.

I'm sure they were talking about some of the metagenetic qualities listed in Runners Companion, with which one could create a cat girl if one so desired, although for the life of me I don't know why anyone would.

But yes. There are cat girls.

You... you don't? Really? I think you're one of approximately 40% of people who's rationally disgusted by the idea of catgirls because you find the internet's fascination with them disturbing (and that I can agree with), but deep down they appeal to you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif)

Really, you could always do that with cosmetic cyberware and bioware. Also see Fox Shapeshifters, which have been around since SR2.

I would rather chew on light bulbs than have cat girls as a regular feature of my SR world, but as it turns out I'm not the only one that plays this game or has an opinion... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohplease.gif)

And, McAllister, I can assure you that cat girls are about as appealing to me as tranny porn. You can make of that what you will.

<clearly said to be humorous>
Maybe how *you* play it.
</humor>

Was it Chrome? or Chrome 2.0 that had catgirl suites for CP2020?

Yes, the majority here is right. You can use SURGE or cyber/bioware to create your own catgirl.

Sometimes they can be cute, but sometimes they can be downright creepy.

As I recall, and correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Bull have a hand in getting that crap into YoTC? The next time he comes up this way I swear to the gaming gawds he's not getting any shots until he explains this one!

I was always partial to bunny girls myself. Anime ones mind you, furry stuff kind of creeps me out.

Thank you Adam.

I was actually fairly appalled at the whole Catgirl thing. You can blame a lot of YotC on me (At the very least, I was in the YotC brainstorming session and agreed with a lot of what went into the book, if I didn't suggest it in the first place), but Catgirls were not my thing.

One thing that we wanted to do with YotC was mirror the original Awakening. SURGE was the YotC version of UGE. But *MY* idea had been to simply have a new round of goblinization and simply make Metahuman's a bit more common, and possibly use that section as a chance to make some of the Sapient Critters playable races. This got tweaked into the recessive metagene thing, where someone might express only a partial Metahuman gene (Just the dermal deposits of a troll, or a dwarf's thermo vision). Somehow, this turned into SURGE. And Catgirls.

*shudder*
