It is the log of the chat. I hope it will work... It is 1st part.
[2:27] jm_hardy: This chat will be wild west style--I'll just be looking for questions
as they come by.
[2:27] adamjury: We will be using the tool of "politeness" to handle questions this
time around. *grin*
[2:27] bobbyd: Hey, show of hands: how many people want more fanservice in SR art?
[2:27] canadianwolvie: Hey Bull, THANK YOU
[2:27] shane: Query fanservice?
[2:27] bull: Wolvie: Umm, you're welcome? I think?
[2:27] penta: Massive boobs.(IMG:
style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
[2:27] bull: And define Fanservice
[2:27] chrysalis: BUll, can I have a chat with you at some point tonight?
[2:27] bobbyd: Attractive people to look at in the art. For boys and girls.
[2:27] dakhran: ...angry daisies?
[2:28] kell1775: you mean like pictures of Ork Strippers?
[2:28] bull: Bobby: I just want good Shadowrun art. That's fanservice in my book.
[2:28] bobbyd: Cheesecake. Nothing x-rated. POssibly sliding into R-rated.
[2:28] chrysalis: bobbyd, yes as long as it does not involve Nadja's nipples
[2:28] shane: Ah. I'd prefer verisimilitude in the art; give us a proper mix of cute
and OHMYFINGGODNO.
[2:28] adamjury: For anyone wondering ... Bobby is _not_ our Art Director. (IMG:
style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
[2:28] chrysalis: lol
[2:28] bobbyd: Shane: so you saw the wendigo in Feral Cities?
[2:28] bladerunner: ha
[2:28] bull: THank god (IMG:

[2:28] guest-7995 entered the room
[2:28] jm_hardy: I'm coming up empty on the yacht capacity question.
[2:28] guest-7995 changed nickname to sdaries
[2:28] bobbyd: I wouldn't want that job.
[2:28] guest-8010 entered the room
[2:28] guest-8010 changed nickname to primemover
[2:28] shane: I've not read all of Feral Cities. Yet. I'll have a look late ron.
Should I have Prozac on hand?
[2:29] bobbyd: I'd have to deal with artists, and artists hate me.
[2:29] jm_hardy: I've seen the art being done for the Almanac. It makes me very happy.
[2:29] evilref: For yacht capacity, i'd suggest google. There are a lot of yacht
manufacturers out there who go into great detail on what their boats can handle
[2:29] penta: JMHardy: Yeah, I've come up blank too, hence why I asked.
[2:29] guest-8046 entered the room
[2:29] bobbyd: For the wendigo? Dunno. Whatever level of self-medication works for
you.
[2:29] guest-8046 changed nickname to deadmetal
[2:29] kalvan: Well, outside of the the Barrens, most people will more likely have
central air conditioning, and in them, no one will be able to repair their fans unless
they MacGyver something together.
[2:29] kalvan: (IMG:
style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
[2:29] jm_hardy: And the draft cover image for the Almanac made Adam do unspeakable
things to his laptop.
[2:30] chrysalis: Ewww, is it still sticky?
[2:30] adamjury: Oh, I was talking the entire time.
[2:30] penta: Ewww, why was he doing that in the office?
[2:30] kalvan: Arewe ready now?
[2:30] bobbyd: Office?
[2:30] tachi: Come on Adam, no taking it out on the inanimate objects...
[2:30] bull: THe new art director is a sexy beast, as a note. And I love his outlook
on SHadowrun Art. (IMG:
style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
[2:30] jm_hardy: Hmm. So Adam is a talker. Good to know.
[2:30] shane: This link:

yachts with cpacity compare to length, Might help estimate.
[2:31] jm_hardy: The new art director is absolutely ruthless in his quest for cool
art.

[2:32] deadmetal: well, for one, animate objects are likely to fight back

[2:32] bull: Cut n Paste? (IMG:

[2:32] kell1775: highlight copy paste
[2:32] bobbyd: Hey, John Shirley finally got Black Glass, the "lost cyberpunk novel"

[2:33] jm_hardy: 1 passenger for 2 points of Body might not be a terrible guideline.
[2:33] bladerunner: nice
[2:33] erik: cut and paste? that'll take awhile.
[2:33] shane: Hey, anyone seem that new drug "Viagzac"? A mix of prozac and viagra;
that way if you don't get a f**k you don't give a f**k...
[2:33] bobbyd: (I say finally, but I mean "I just found out about it.")
[2:33] chrysalis: Mhmm
[2:33] kalvan: I guess that's a negative...
[2:33] jm_hardy: Now that it's 12:33, we can start the "official" part of the chat.
[2:34] erik: yay
[2:34] canadianwolvie: Oh hey, who wants to hear a lil IRL SR related story?
[2:34] deadmetal: after official bit
[2:34] canadianwolvie: Cool
[2:34] janus: bull: It works, so I'll do in the way. Thank you!
[2:34] penta: 1 passenger per 2 points of body? Hmm, me like.
[2:34] jm_hardy: So: Hi! I'm Jason Hardy, the new Shadowrun line developer. Ask me
questions if you'd like! If not, I'm going to take a shower!
[2:35] kalvan: So, Mr. Hardy, tell us about yourself a little.
[2:35] jm_hardy: I've been writing and editing for various games for about nine years.
[2:35] canadianwolvie: You may have to take a shower after we ask you questions
[2:35] jm_hardy: Did some SR, BT, d20, and a few other things.
[2:36] bobbyd: cough(*BattleRun*)cough
[2:36] jm_hardy: I've written a SR novel, three MechWarrior: Dark Age novels, and two
Crimson Skies novels.
[2:36] canadianwolvie: Game mechanics, fiction, or office memo writing?
[2:36] bookworm: what was your favorite product to work on?
[2:36] canadianwolvie: Sweet!
[2:36] jm_hardy: I wrote BattleRun. Thanks Bobby.
[2:37] jm_hardy: I mostly have worked on the flavor and fiction side, though
ocassionally on mechanics.
[2:37] tachi: Is there a possibility of a Rigger4?
[2:37] penta: Query: BattleRun?
[2:37] jm_hardy: BattleRun is right near the top of the most fun products to work on.
_Drops of Corruption_ is my favorite of the novels.
[2:37] sdaries: What are your opinions on the Shadowrun/Earthdawn connection. Is it
something you would like to develop more on or stay away from? I know thats one of the
things people have strong views on.
[2:38] stephenmcquilla: Penta--the 8th world, combination of Shadowrun and Battletech
with a heaping of AWESOME
[2:38] bobbyd: Penta:http://www.battlecorps.com/catalog/product_info.php?
cPath=28&products_id=2259
[2:38] penta: Ahhh.
[2:38] jm_hardy: BattleRun, the mash-up of Battletech and Shadowrun that was an April
Fool's joke and ended up nominated for an ENnie.
[2:38] penta: hehe.
[2:38] adamjury: Jason used Shadowrun to make BattleTech cool. (IMG:
style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
[2:38] canadianwolvie: Hehe
[2:39] flak: Are there any new directions you'd like to try taking Shadowrun in or
areas that haven't been covered you'd like to look at?
[2:39] jm_hardy: The Shadowrun/Earthdawn connection exists, and I think it's fine for
it to be there and occasionally influence the Sixth World. I'd rather not make it the
_central emphasis_, or anything close to it, of the Sixth World.
[2:39] adamjury: Okay. No more questions for a few minutes, while Jason catches up
with the current ones.
[2:40] jm_hardy: Rigger 4: I won't rule out the possibility of Rigger 4. But it's not
in the immediate future.
[2:40] jm_hardy: I think I'm caught up.
[2:40] jm_hardy: Oh wait no--I missed flak's question.

[2:41] jm_hardy: There's lots to look at in Shadowrun, but I don't feel I need to
reinvent it or anything. I think we've got good rules, cool gear, and a great setting
--One of my first priorites is telling cool stories in that setting.
[2:42] jm_hardy: People regularly mention Bug City, Renraku Shutdown, and Dunkelzahn's
assasination. All of those things happened a while ago. I want something like that to
happen again.
[2:42] canadianwolvie: Awesome, the cool stories is what attracted this new comer to
SR in the first place
[2:43] dakhran: What's the word on space? Anything in the works? Eventually, runners
will get a job that takes them up the gravity well, but right now, half or more of the
players refuse to go, because it's instant death...
[2:43] shane: Jason, you keep talking baout not reinventing, and carrying on the high
quality that came before; I'd like to know, though, what bits if any you think you'd
like to move in a different direction?
[2:43] penta: Are we likely to see Errata for the advanced books like Arsenal to bring
them into line with SR4A?

little more active. I think too much of the world has become too settled or
unchanging. I want people to be more aggressive out there, and for power to shift in
interesting ways.
[2:46] dakhran: In line with the space thing, any idea on how to keep Awakened
characters from dying or going insane in space? It's hard to convince them to take a
run that will kill them if they do what they're supposedly hired for (cast spells, use
adept powers, etc)...

Awakened Haunts ?
[2:47] jm_hardy: Penta: I don't think I'm out of line saying that plans are in the

[2:48] kell1775: yes ala Ghost Cartels
[2:49] disputator: what about runner's toolkit?

[2:50] otakusensei: Are we going to see more products like Digital Grimoire anytime
soon?
[2:50] canadianwolvie: I would like to recommend an idea for keeping magic in space as
a fluff idea, find a way to bring life with you? Power foci?
[2:50] adamjury: Less than half a year, in this case. But bear in mind that anything
printed overseas takes 6-8 weeks *just to ship* (IMG:

[2:55] jm_hardy: Novels: They are in the works. I've got one about 3/4 finished. No
timeline yet, but things are moving ahead.
[2:55] evilref: And as a general point. Great job on the Anniversary edition, because
of it i've started a new campaign having not played since 3E, and 4 of my players
have gone and bought all of the core books (which led to some shopping around to get
some of them given the shortage in the uk for arsenal)

[2:56] lurker: On that line, is there going to be any big movement along national
lines? I really enjoyed the PCC vs Aztechnology overtoen in Corporate and would like
to see a little bit more done with Shadowrun that's not fueled by Immortal Elves or
dragons
[2:56] penta: Agree with evilref. 4A kicked ass.
[2:56] jm_hardy: As far as starting adventures go, it's predictable, but you can't go
wrong with On the Run.
[2:56] kenofghastria: Similar situation as eviref's: longtime fan who hadn't been

[2:59] primemover: Any clarification on dartgun rules? eta on Augmentation errata?
[2:59] shane: *sorry*
[2:59] yashugan: Any room for a book on prime runners, i mean Realy intersting
