i didn't finish reading yet, but I'm having a blast reading and finding amusing some mistakes about Brazil's government (FUNAI being the quickest to notice) but it's a great read even so.

Ditto-Ditto? Double-Ditto? Not sure what it would be. I will say that I, on occasion, have had some issues with Imageshack, but not lately. Never did figure out why either.

Every time I click on the links, I get the stupid iced frog pic from Imageshack, asking me to register. That's why I'm asking for someone to host them on a different service (Picasa, Photobucket... basically, any website that doesn't behave like a dick).

Could be something location-based, the internet is not flat. Anyway, good to know that Imageshack is not trouble-free for everyone.

Just a minor remark refering to the brazilian Northeast Region. The two biggest cities are not Fortaleza and Salvador, but rather Recife (hometown) and Salvador. Fortaleza might be best known worldly because there's a huge sex turism industry in that town, but economically speaking, Recife is way bigger than Fortaleza.

By the way, the names of the brazilians shadowtalkers are HILARIOUS.

According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, Fortaleza is 60% larger than Recife population-wise. What would you say they're overlooking?

Downloaded. This is awesome so far (I'm just into page 11). Someone should try to see if Ramos can paint a picture...if his entertainment activities are any indication I don't think he'll turn out to be any good at artisan skills for some reason. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

BTW, how much of this or similar material have they used for SR4 so far, if any? Haven't bought anything SR4-related since 2008-09.

LordHaHa

EDIT: It seems reading deeper into it there's more and more crossover from the stuff I do have. Guess I answered my own question.

You are correct when taking the population of onli the cities, and I'll say I was surprised the population of Fortaleza only is bigger than Recife, but I'm quite sure when taking into account the metropolitan areas, Recife has the third largest conrubation, losing only to Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. But my point still stands, Fortaleza might be internationally known as a turistic city (hell they have even more sunny days than we do and their beaches are beautiful) but Recife is right now (and could still be in Shadowrun) one of the largest medical pools of Brazil and we have a lot of software companies, some of them multinationals (I work two floor below an Accenture office and three below a Microsoft one). And with medical companies AND software companies you have two very good reasons why shadowrunning could be possible here.

Anyway, just my two nuyen. And I guess I said before, but I'll say again, I loved this book.

One thing I looked for but didn't see- off of Montevedeo, is the wreck of the Graf Spee still there? is it there today? Can people dive on it the way they do wrecks like the Andrea Doria?

Really nice question!
Wikipedia has this to say:
QUOTE
The wreck was partially broken up in situ in 1942–1943, though parts of the ship are still visible to the present;[5] the wreck lies at a depth of only 11 m (36 ft). In February 2004, a salvage team began work raising the wreck of Admiral Graf Spee. The operation is in part being funded by the government of Uruguay, in part by the private sector, as the wreck is now a hazard to navigation. The first major section—a 27 metric tons (27 long tons; 30 short tons) gunnery range-finding telemeter—was raised on 25 February.[36] On 10 February 2006, the 2 m (6 ft 7 in) eagle figurehead of Admiral Graf Spee was recovered from the stern of the ship.[37]

Hmm,would give the term ghost-ship a whole new meaning . .
Or the wreck, pumped dry and closed up, could be used as a kind of under water base for smugglers.
