When he does go, he'll be #3 on my Lunch List.

That being, the list of Dead People I'd want to have lunch with.
(It'd probably be easier to book him post-mortem, too)

The other two being Isac Asimov and someone I can't recall at the moment (damn it).

Author, yes, who I don't remember. They're probably on my bookshelf, though.

British Knife Laws

Don't mean to rant, but the law's there for a reason. Stabbings happen far too much here, it's practically a rite of coming of age, to stab someone.

The law didn't target violence. It targeted stabbings.

But don't know, 'cause it's Britain. Maybe should check that new-fangled thing, the "interweb".

I think he asks because he knows it hasn't helped. At all. If you're willing to break the law to stab somebody, you're willing to break the law to carry a knife. In fact, it's awful nice for criminals, knowing that illegal weapons are the only weapons around not carried by people with a response time measured in minutes longer than it takes to commit a crime and then leave.

That resolved, our political commentary segment is concluded. We now return to our regularly scheduled awesome quotes.

One more thing. The word "knife" and related words/verbs above can be easily changed with other words.

In any event: has that author though about willingly infecting himself with Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease? First off, he'd lose mental faculties faster than he's losing physical ones; and second, for science!

I think he'd be more interested in doing it "For Magic!" than "For Science!". Same-difference, however.

...

Damn I wish I had a group now. Shadowrun on the Discworld would be... Interesting.

(And, yes, I was making a reference to the fact that criminals that break greater laws will have little to no respect for lesser ones as well. Semi-Political, yes, but I thought also somewhat on topic on a forum dealing with anti-social, borderline-sociopathic, neo-anarchistic mercenaries that shoot people in the face for money.).

I agree completely, if you couldn't tell. Just saw a potential weapon control debate brewing, and that's one of those things that gets ugly fast. The thread's actual topic is much more fun.

Wish I had quotes to share of my own, but I submit to you WWW.drmcninja.com. The extremely Pink Mohawk adventures of a doctor who is also a ninja. Of the McNinja family. Recently he used a dead pterodactyl as a kite, towed behind a motorcycle, which then drove through a tunnel. His aerial acrobatics skills let him fly into the tunnel, flying alongside the motorcycle, shouting "SKIIIIIILLZ!"

Also, Thor's lines in Earth's Mightiest Heroes. "I tire of these... geeks."

I doubt you've gotten up to Ryumyo and Lung slash fiction yet, though. Chrysalis actually did a fairly good job with that.
(I've seen some slashes in my time. *monocule*)
