Hey dudes/dudettes,
A friend and I are busting into Shadowrun. He just bought the core rulebook, I just bought the core rulebook. He's always been a good dm in many ways, but devising adventures himself are not one of his strengths (the plot just sags, you know?) But he works great with modules/adventures. I only noticed one adventure designed for 4ed. Are there other adventures we can find elsewhere? Or old adventures/modules that will work for Shadowrun 4e? What are the best modules, the ones that will make us look at each other and say "Oh sh*t! This is craaaazy!" Thanks! B |

You might consider picking and choosing from Missions - they can be run as a "season" but they work fine as stand-alones. Other than that, On The Run is decent, though YMMV - it's kind of railroady as far as these things go.

Thanks Kjones! I also heard Food Fight is a decent place to start. What do you think? Thanks!

Food Fight is a good intro to the Shadowrun mechanics. It's fun to run I really enjoy it. It's an excellent miniscenario.
There are also some adventures on the main Shadowrun site http://www.shadowrun4.com/resources/index.shtml the missions are also here. Knasser has a few on his site here http://www.knasser.me.uk/shadowrun/locations/ |

I'd also recommend the following actual play threads for some good ideas and flavor.
The World Is Light (Shadowrun, 4th edition) The Shadowborn - Shadowrun 4E - Actual Play |

I have a printable map for the SR4 Quickstart "Foodfight" (which you can download for free on Catalyst's website). I'd post a link to my map, but it's a pain in the ass on the iPhone.

I'd also recommend the following actual play threads for some good ideas and flavor. The World Is Light (Shadowrun, 4th edition) I'm not familiar with the second one you mentioned, but The World is Light is a fantastic read. It's what finally made me go from obsessively reading up on the setting to actually wanting to run an adventure. I don't know who ran that game, but I'd like to shake their hand. |

If your looking at a more loose campaign arc games, Ghost Cartels and emergence can easily be turned from loose campaign ideas into a long series of modules.
Also, maybe talk to your dm, see if he wants to create a whole module himself. Get the dm screen or runners companion (I think this is the book that has a way to make runs on the fly, may be wrong though) and maybe see what he can do to make one along the same lines as On the Run or the other modules previously mentioned. I find this easier when GMing and I have a plot I really want to do right. |

The second one is actually my own AP thread. That first one really is great, it's what got me running SR again after a few years off. His second AP thread is here. |

Many thanks again brothaz! We ran Food Fight, and it went great (although we played sloppy relative to experienced Shadowrunners, in hindsight, which is expected - see the recent "Food Slaughter" thread), thanks to you dudes! I think our GM is going to run modified versions of the missions moving forward!

Glad you had fun. That's what it's really all about in the end. Anything cool happen during your food fight experience. I've run through it countless times and it's still my favorite scenerio.

Yep, definitely, but it was slightly controversial. You can read about it here:
http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?showtopic=31267 Mainly very "Final scene in Taxi-driver"esque moments where we walked up and point blanked the thugs. It was pretty intense and fun as hell. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Not as well played, I realize now, as it would be if played by veterans, but we def had a good time. I can't wait to play again this weekend! |

Yeah, I kinda see assassins (isn't that a funny word? ass ass in) as more professional than that but all that really matters is your group had fun. Don't let what people here say get in the way of that. In game I've killed my share of people I probably shouldn't have for less than they saw my face. It really depend on how your group see's the Shadowrun world.
