*sigh*
i wish i could get one of those controllers somewhere around here . .
I'd be tempted to try and hook it up to my computer to run the Crysis Mod MWLL with . .
Or at least MW4 Mercs the Free Release ^^

There's actually a game store near me with a copy + controller of Tekki/Steel Battalion. I'm sure they want an arm and a leg for it though. Then there's that whole you being in Deutchland part.

Yah, over here, it's harder to get by <.<;,
And yes, they WILL want an Arm and a Leg for it.
I think at one point it was 200 Bucks for the Game with the Controller.

I think either $150 or $200 was the original sticker price for Steel Battalion. A buddy of mine had it for a while, though he got frustrated and traded it in at Gamestop after a year or so, due to the lack of a real "save feature" and a mission he still couldn't figure out how to beat after 6 months and several internet walkthroughs.

Still, an impressive controller (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I think the original price tag was $150, but I could be crazy. I still have the original box for it and all, although sadly the controller is now in storage as there is no way to play it on my 360. /sad

The game was tough and unforgiving and amazing all at the same time. The feeling of claustrophobia in the early VTs, which close up on you and have just a single viewscreen in the front. Finally getting a 2nd generation mech with more gas and overdrive functions, in addition to a larger viewscreen, The rush of knowing that failing to eject (or getting the extremely random, but documented, pilot shots) is not just a simple game over, but the delegating of that pilot to a mere record, never to be played again. Easily my favorite mech game, followed by Heavy Gear and MW2 Mercs.

I miss good mech games. MW4 is decent but I'm still excited to see if we ever get that new MW game which I believe was in trouble with Harmony Gold for using the Invisibles (isn't their trademark for IP gone by now? I thought they only lasted 14 years if you renewed them?)

Get Crysis or Crysis Warhead with the WARS part and download the mod: MECHWARRIOR LIVING LEGENDS
It's Mechwarrior. But with the eye candy engine of Crysis.

I don't think it works with Crysis Wars yet, the latest news post on the Living Legends website says that they'll be switching over to Wars by the time they release version 0.5.0

Ah, didn't know that. Thanks for pointing that out (must've read about it only working for Crysis back before the 0.4.0 update).

It's honestly been years since I've seen the links to rigs guys had set up. You may just have to <search engine of choice> it and start looking around.

Forgot how much I love mechwarrior till I played this again, ran through the entire campaign including all the solaris league matches in a few days. The final mission my entire lance loaded up in Daishi's and steamrolled Nondi.

Yah, that's how i do it too usually . .
Basically, if you don't have at least half of your two lances in 100t mechs by 3 fourths of the game, you have done something wrong.
also, the steiner ending is slightly easier, due to clan honour rules for dueling . . just take a daishi and put 3xCUAC20 in there.
call it a day.

When I tried to run it it came up saying it was a Trojan. Anyone else have issues with that or is AVG just being pissy because it was a torrent?

Apparently they are developing a new Steel Batallion for the Kinect. While I will miss my enormous controller, I'm very excited.

(also news, 2 amazing treasure games from the Saturn era being remade for XBLA, Radiant Silvergun and Guardian Heroes. Rejoice!)

Just as a note about mech games in general... for those of us lucky enough to own Steel Battalion (or at least the monsterous controller setup) there are drivers available for it that allow it to work on the PC for MW4 (possibly MW3) and also Freespace 2.
