I always used The Shop religiously to create custom stuff for my characters, but with Rigger 3 out, it isn't as usful anymore. Is anyone out there working on a program that is similar, but updated with Rigger 3 rules?

Hell, I might as well integrate vehicle and gun design into SRqt while I'm at it :P

Those were planned already :D
I'd like to integrate as much 'custom gear' generation stuff as possible, any other suggestions are always welcome. |

i had a program ones for deck building, was for virtual realitys 2.0 tho (sr2). and i cant update the source as it was lost in a crash. most probably i would have to rewrite it from scratch as the rules have changed so mutch...

Thanks! I'm eventually going to make my own shadowrun programs, but first I need to learn to program. :D
When you are done, let us know where we can get a copy. Also, if you need someone to betatest, I'd love to help you out. |

btw, you can thank zonedancer/reaver...hes the one that put me up to it...
im coding this program in vbs with an html interface...so all you need to run it is a computer that supports html applications and visual basic scripting. dunno how long it will take, but ill get it done eventually. i try to not have to betatest my code. like to have it working before it gets sent out. im also working on character managers for shadowrun and traveller games, have the one for traveller done for the most part (minimal interface only, using html and vbscript, which stores characters in open coded xml files) |

Fantastic. That means i can stop the slow process of making The Shop R3 compliant. |

I've messaged you with my email address. I've also done a bit of work on my own spreadsheet but it's not very good. that is to say: I wish I could do proper relational algebra calculations on the data as I find the available operators to be exceedingly restrictive. Perhaps I should just write a vehicle design system in SQL...

The excel files didn't work for me. At least, as far as I can tell...
How do they work? Lilt: SQL would work loads better than Access for sure. |

That's odd: I was able to get the spreadsheet working in openoffice. Unfortunately when I try to save my spreadsheet under Excel (and try to load it again) it screws-up. I could send you my sheet (which I'm attempting to make into more than just a form) but it's in .sxc format and it won't convert into .XLS format when I save it.
It's also far from complete as it can only, at this point, make Large Vectored-Thrust UAVs and Large Anthroforms (Either with EFC power plants, Anthroforms with Battery plants, and Jet power plants for the UAVs). I don't have time right now to do an SQL-powered vehicle-generator, and if I was to do one; it'd probably be a standalone GUI program. They're really easy to do with things like Borland C++ Builder 6 (which I have a copy of lying-around from work I did over thr summer). |

Depending on when I get my internet connection back and can start working on the DCRS, this might be something I could do online. You may not be able to download it and run it on your own machine, but you could use it online and then print out your results. It'd be a good way for me to learn the Rigging stuff anyway ;)
