The rules for background count are in Street Magic, but I wouldn't sweat it too bad. I'll ICly tell you what's happening to your magic and the OOC mechanical effects. Anything you don't have access to that you need to know, I'll talk you through it.

Ho yes. There are a few background ideas I have for the medication she's taking, but the slow spiral and caution she's had to adhere to since she can't leave the area so easily have taken their toll. Any certified credsticks she ahd are long gone, save for about $500 she's managed to keep, as well as a few changes of clothing.

It's just the right mix of bad luck and sacrifice to make her hungry for a big score.

It's already late and I'm about to go to bed, but I wanted to get down this first paragraph or so of Coatl's background. I'll edit the rest of it, and the sheet, over the weekend.

BACKGROUND

As one of the so-called Yucatan "rebels" it really pissed Esteban off when Pobre accepted Aztlan's olive branch and became governor of the peninsula. People, people with families and dreams, fought and bled and died for the Yucatan's freedom. And this fucking wyrm brushed all that aside and took credit. The dragon gets to rule the land, and gets a pawn in some goddamn game in which the scaleys hold all the pieces. And what do the people get? Fuckin' nothing. Their land changes hands from some metaphorical snake to a literal one. That's all.

It keeps him up at night.

Is there still room for this? I've been running a Shadowrun game for my friends, but have desperately been wanting to actually have a character in one! My concept would be a Technomancer that isn't all that technical. He has a twin brother that's a mage; they made a pretty good team on the Denver circuit. Corvus dealt with Meat and Matrix threats alike, being just as handy with a pistol as he was with a node. His brother, Mako, would conjure up a spirit to ride shotgun on their runs and throw a manabolt or two where needed. They did pretty well moving small arms to the various Denver factions before they were set up by a Johnson that set them up, no doubt looking to study the twins' unique abilities. Outnumbered and badly wounded Corvus was forced to flee the scene without his brother. He spent a good two years hacking every node he thought might lead him to his brother, draining both his body and cred. Corvus had turned into the one thing he swore would never happen, an infirm hacker that's hot shit in the Matrix, but couldn't defend himself from a toddler with a stick in the real world. Corvus has finally given up his search for Mako and caught a flight to Caracas in hopes of losing himself.

Abs said that he'll be taking in characters until July 1st. Dunno if he's going to just try to get everyone a spot or if he's going to stick with the original 5-6 group. Just post a background and character sheet in the thread and consider yourself in.

Anyone seen crizh or Blackhat? They're the only ones who's characters are still a mystery. I imagine it'd cause Abs no small amount of sadistic joy just to hear what they have in mind, let alone a backstory or character sheet.

Gabriel was just a bit too clever for his own good. He would say it wasn't his fault, but he would also know he was lying. He was upset, not for his actions, but more for getting caught. It was going to be so perfect! He was going to clear over 50 large by himself, but he went too far. He knew that now. Embarassing the Johnson publicly was a mistake. Diaz didn't expect the backlash that occurred immediately. Still, he was compelled to send that tape to the media. The itch in the back of his head wouldn't let him otherwise. He knew this was the tradeoff for his power; that he was unable to control himself from time to time. Sometimes, it cost him more than others. This time, a Johnson (whose Corp he still hadn't figured out) was hunting him down, he missed out on his payday, and none of his contacts would return his calls. That last part he wasn't expecting. Frankly, that the Johnson had that much power was troublesome. He assumed he was just a single or double-A corp, considering the original payout. But now, it was clear it was probably one of the big 10. He'd have to figure out which, to get some leverage before they decided to ice him. Now, he needed money, and probably a new place to stay. Still, it was really funny, which almost made it worth it.
