The list has two new Ghouls, listed as "HMHVV Variant 7 Ghoul" and "HMHVV Variant 8 Ghoul"
  • I presume that Variants 1–3 are the Sasabonsam, Gaki, and Busaw.
  • What are Variants 4–6 ?

A couple things about Human MetaHuman Vampiric Bat Virus (HMHVVB)
  • Why is the abbreviation out of order with respect to the name ?
  • Why describe it as three strains, when it has only one expression per metatype ?
  • Gargoyle is a confusing name for the Ork & Troll expression, since we already have Gargoyles in Shadowrun.
Based on Running Wild, I would name the virus HMHVV IV: Ghilani Desmodontinae.

P.S. One possible name for the Ork/Troll strain would be Grotesque, since they are often confused with Gargoyles.

Variants 4-6 are reserved in case the developers add a few more strains.

This only remind me that I need to take the entire first posting and crosscheck it with running wild that I havent read yet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif)

And it is very nice to get good suggestions.

I've read over the list (excluding the new entries), and I'm a little put-off about them. Most of them are Dog stats with liberal use of a Slab poison. Many of them don't seem to mesh well with the setting (Buzz Shark or whatever it's called, for instance), and most of them have Powers that don't follow rules with no explanation why they stopped following the rules (For instance, a couple have Elemental Strike that deals damage of a much higher Magic than the creature has).

I applaud your ingenuity and creativity, but I doubt I could use much of what you've built.

Well, the initial idea for this list was mainly for fleshing out the Shadowrun world with more creatures that would be more of a novelty to introduce in adventures than actual threats.

The expanded flora section with things like finding a living flower in sub zero temperatures. The list has since then expanded and some extreme critters have been added (some for fun and some for silliness).

I agree that attributes are way off in several cases but that is because I have had no time to cross reference this with running wild in order to get the correct attributes as I’ve had no access to the book yet.

That part is an ongoing project.

Mainly it is a tool for GM’s to introduce the rare oddity now and then – like the non-threatening regenerating moose…

One of my favourites things are accident bugs and david weber spiders as they should provide temporary chaos and fun (or slight panic) but not be outright dangerous.

If you're still accepting suggested changes for the top post, remove the aberrant apostrophe from almost all of the "it's" in the post. This is because possessive pronouns do not use apostrophes of possession. Examples would be: its, hers, ours, yours, theirs, whose. No apostrophes. If you write "it's" that always means "it is" or "it has".

Otherwise it's a handy menagerie of ideas to spice up situations players expect to be straightforward. Thanks!

Grammar demon, curse you. I should probably run it through a spell checker.

I don't think the spell checker will flag this problem.

Have you ever wished you were another metatype than you are? Now you can, too bad you cannot control it...

I’m thinking of getting this into a PDF document with added map pictures showing spread and habitation of each critter and possible photoshopped images of the beings themselves. I’ve no idea at this point of how to do this since I’ve never worked with a PDF document before.

First of all: fantastic job and lot's of hard work on our part, congrats!

Second: I'm quite familiar in working with TeX and more importantly XeLaTeX, so I can convert the whole thing into a nice PDF book. Let me know if you want that - but when you feel the thing is finished as I might not have enough time to keep it updated very frequently (once in a while is cool though).

Cheers!

Even though I lurk here more than post here are a few links to the huge amount of critters that I have stated out over the years.

Big link to most of the stuff I've stated out compiled in one post. Used to keep a running post of all my creations.

Here are some that never made it to the running post. Might be others, but I'm not sure.

Some common dogs.

Some new infected creatures...

Oyster that cleans toxic water.

Shark with a freaking laser on its head.

Giant mutant sea bass.

Maybe I'll start stating things out again. Not sure what people would like.

I hope people can at least use it all.
