QUOTE ("unwired errata") p. 149 Emulation Add the following sentence to the end of this section: “Memorized Complex Forms emulating skillsofts are limited to the rating of the original skillsofts and cannot be improved either by reading or Karma-expenditure.” Well and since under emulating it goes like: QUOTE Emulation Technomancers with the Biowire echo can use threading to convert skillsofts (in storage accessible to the technomancer) into complex forms that their neuromuscular system can process. To set up the emulator, the technomancer makes a Threading (skillsoft rating) Test. If the program contains other program ratings, raise the threshold by the number of program options or rating points. If he succeeds, he has converted the program into a complex form. He can now either sustain the program as a normal threaded complex form of the same rating or memorize the skillsoft as a complex form by paying an amount of Karma equal to the rating (+1 for any program option or program option rating). And there is nowhere an other possibility mentioned, so it is quite obvious. Pre errata: You could not make it up from scratch. Post errata: You are also not able to improve it. And do not give me, it is underpowered. You get a skill worth around 18 Karma for 4. I guess it is a good deal. To make up any skill you want in one complex action is.... (Since you got at this point at least 6 resonanz and I guess 6 threading, the skilllevel is around 4.) Not to mention the possibilities for abuse if you convert it into a permanent complex form. "Yes, my technomancer got firearms 12, where is the problem?" |
