Hey, room for one more? I'm currently involved in another PbP game here, A trip to Renewal, but I like the idea of an introductory run, as I'm still a little new to SR.
I'm thinking of a mundane hacker that specalises in malware and the like. He's the guy who can upgrade everyone's warez for you, but might leave a trojan as insurance. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) After all, technos might have spooky Matrix powers, but how often do you see one carting around loads of cracked, high-spec progs? To start with, I'm gonna be using the sample malware provided in Unwired, but I wonder if you would allow Bit (that's his name) to write his own with Software skill? Maybe if we've got a few spare months, hmmm? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) So, should I post the guy or am I wasting your (and mine) time? I can always go on reserve. If you're not into that, for whatever reason, I've got a teenage nosferatu I've been wanting to use for that 'holy shit' factor that I find so lacking these days. Well I started saying"welcome, please place the hacker not the nosferatu"...then I realised it wasn't my game (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
In any case "welcome" is nicer than "Mis Post", so welcome. |

@Xahn Borealis - Post up your hacker dude Xahn, or you can try your teenage vampire if you want. I'm easy either way. We've got space for you as one player seems to have dropped out.
@seth - Good save!:) |

Here he is.
Bit [ Spoiler ] He was built with the SR4CG DK version 1K spreadsheet so any errors aren't my fault (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) EDIT: Swapped Intuitive Hacking for Restricted Gear. |

Hey Xahn: nice build. I don't know how trojans work, but it should be fun to see them in action.
If you don't want character review services just say so, but I think the following might be of interest:

I don't think I can squeeze out another 15,000 for some geneware, unfortunately. As for the Steed, only the enhanced rigger cocoons have valkyrie modules.

@Xahn Borealis
Response Upgrade 6 is Availability 16 which would require a Restricted Gear Quality. Also not to throw a spanner in to players gear design SR4A Errata SR4a Errata Below is from the Above SR4A erratta MODULAR ELECTRONICS Modular Electronics allows the upgrade of a vehicles Signal and Response hardware above the normal +2 limit by making components modular and easy to replace. Slots: 1 Threshold: 8 Tools: Kit Cost: 1000„ Availability: 6 Special Skill: Hardware |

Yeah, but he started with a Transys Avalon, which has Response 4. As for the availability, I'll just swap the Intuitive Hacking Quality for Restricted Gear. Tbh, I crunched the character up on a whim a while ago and dusted him off for this game. I forgot about the Response availability thing, so I deleted the Restricted Gear Quality. I was wondering what that was for...
Thanks for the review, though, a second opinion is always welcome. (And saves on me having to proofread.) |

Are commlinks limited to a +2 increase in Response/Signal over the base ratings?
Just wondering, because the above quote from the errata says "vehicle". Bye Thanee |

Hi all, runners!
I'm totally a noob at SR4E, and have been a long time without playing pure RPG, outside computers. I used to play several RPG's some years ago, SR1E between them, so the ambientation isn't unknown for me, and perhaps many rules sound familar too. Nowadays, I have no possibility to play local games, cause no other players close to me, so I'd like starting to play PBP games; I think this is a great option for those between us not being able to play local. So, I was wondering if there's any empty slot at this run, and if I could fill in it. I'd have to create my character (thinking about an elf whith martial arts specialization) yet, but I'm willing to. if there was no free slot for me, I could figure as reserve, so if somebody leaves the game by any reason, I could get in. Thx, people! |

I suppose it makes sense that you can't take a rubbish computer and upgrade it to the brand-spankiest piece you could imagine. I don't know that much about hardware, anyway. It just makes it a little more expensive to get THE SHIT. |

Hmm... no, not really. It also doesn't help, that the document (SR4A Changes) isn't SR4A errata, but is meant to show the changes from SR4 to SR4A, while this does not seem to appear in SR4A (at least I wouldn't know where...). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
I found the +2 limit by now, but that Modular Electronics stuff is just weird. I thought it might be some kind of vehicle modification, but couldn't find it either (maybe that's what they mean with "will be included in future printings of Arsenal", i.e. when it is updated to SR4A like they did with Street Magic; could be, that the stuff printed there is not in any book yet, but will be in Arsenal eventually; that would at least make some sense). Either way, it doesn't affect Bit. Yay, Transys!

IŽll try to set my character up ASAP, and I'll post the datasheet here. What about the martial arts adept elf idea? Do you agree with it? Will this kind of runner fit OK? Or would you prefer me choosing another one? It's up to you, Panticles, don't mind changing my initial idea. I suppose standard 400 BP's being used, isn't it? |

Whatever you go with, marcgarc, do it quick. I'm only 12 minutes late IC and Johnson's probably pissed at that. I wouldn't keep him waiting any longer.

We also get 2x CHA in extra BP to be spent only on Contacts (with max. Rating of 4 in Connection/Loyalty for the free Contacts). I really don't think Panticles will have any problems with an Elven Martial Arts Adept. Go for it! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Bye Thanee |

Not finished yet, but almost done with my Elven Martial Arts Adept. I'm looking for a little background for him, and choosing some gear to beat the streets. Tomorrow I'll post him for sure, ok?
