Cool, I'll look up those rules. ^_^
I'm pretty sure I'm still sustaining a logic spell, so I'm taking a -2 to the Observe in Detail rolls. Int(3) + Per(3) + Enh Vis(3) - Sustain(2) = 7d6 for: 2, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 4, 2, 1, 3 Initiative for: Trismegistus: 13 Init/3 IP React(3) + Int(3) + Enh Ref(3) = 9d6 for 4 hits. Fire Spirit Force 7: 23 Init/2 IP Force(7)x2 + 3 = 17d6 for 6 hits. Fire Spirit Force 4: 14 Init/2 IP Force(4)x2 + 3 = 11d6 for 3 hits. Mecha: 15 Init/3 IP Pilot Prog(5) + Resp(5) = 10d6 for 5 hits |

The glowing girl doesn’t show up in astral but Mal can see her physically. Your radar and ultrasound sensors can’t see her either, only visual seems to work – weird eh?!? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ork.gif)

QUOTE Your radar and ultrasound sensors can’t see her either, only visual seems to work – weird eh?!? "Bah humbug" cried Haruko. Bound to be logical explanation. "Got to love what you can do with lasers nowadays." or maybe "it's the light of Venus deflected by a pocket of swamp gas". Can I just check the status:

Ok, I’ll add some clarity here…murky clarity but some sort of clarity is better than none right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ork.gif)
That’s all for now folks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ork.gif) |

ok, I've forgotten: can I actually talk to non-magicals? Or shall I keep communicating through the bokor?

I'm back!!! Just a quick word of warning, if in the next month or so I disappear for a while it will be because my wife has given birth and I've got my hands full with screaming baby! I'll be back after a couple of weeks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
ok, I've forgotten: can I actually talk to non-magicals? Or shall I keep communicating through the bokor? I confess I'm not exactly sure what RAW would say on this matter but I am happy that the Stillwater lot (for this simulation at least) have found some way for you to speak through your possessed gollum! I've got an IC in the works, will try and get it up by the end of the week... |

[Jungle Canopy, near Aztech pyramid - Aztlan, Location Unknown] Mal glares at the threatening Aztlaner and barks out a command across the Astral to the loa near the patrol. Loa! Strike that soldier with misfortune! I’m a little confused by this – you’re the spirit (Loa?!?), surely it’s your power that you are using?!? (Which won’t be a problem – damn spirit powers bypass spell defence (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) ) Even if you could command another spirit (spirits can’t have summoning) then it would need to be possessing something to change the meat world. Sure it will be clear when you roll the power (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

accident: magic (6) + Willpower (4) = (1 hit) + edge reroll (3 hits) = 4 hits total vs opponents reaction + intuition.
As for why he asked for assistance: Voodoo spells (and critter powers) are actually the caster requesting a favor from the spirits within the target (air, roots, the weapon itself, etc etc). So consider it fluff for why he's not over there pulling a root up to trip him, or blowing a grain of dust into his eye, or whatever it is that happens. |

Great...always happy to go with fluff over rules! His reaction is going to be quite high but we'll see. Will do the rolls in a bit and let you know the outcome.
JxJxA - how are you defining "attacking us" in your mind? Launching a missile at Haruko count?!? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Sorry, missed this lot before... You'd need to double all prices as I maxed out the mod slots building these beasties! And no, you can't have a ram plate on a mecha (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Each armour rating in body ratings lowers speed so probably 2 factors in this case?!? Without checking the rules too thoroughly we'll say if you buy the turbo charger you can offset the speed reduction... And becuase I'm feeling manic on this wet Monday morning I'll say that your mech is equipped with a flamer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ork.gif) You can't use any kind of targetting but it doesn't take much skill to the pull the trigger on this thing when it's pointing the right direction! somehow, I completely missed this entire post. I'll see what I can do with the homunculus with these ruling before I actually use it to splatter enemies. To explain my view on the ram plate: I was picturing something like a hardened shield or shoulder plate to allow him to shoulder-rush enemies. I bow before your ruling, however, and will likely re-work things. Question: can I add auto-targetting weapons (IE: stationary drones programmed to shoot non-friendlies) |

My appologies for forgetting to post. I had a crazy amount of work, and with the low posting rate, I just forgot.
I'm still struggling with Invisible Castle. As I am not at all worried who rolls the die, is it OK if you roll them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Is there another acceptable site like Invisible Castle, as I am now onto my fourth attempt at getting an account with them: they just hang up on me. My initiative would be Intuition(5) + Response(5) + Hot Sim (I think 1 but I am away from books at the moment), So that is a total of 11. Shooting As far as I can see, if you are in a mech you need to use a complex action to shoot, so I might as well make that a full auto (I'll use that to increase damage). Dodging I'm not sure how to do this for a vehicle. My character sheet is http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?show...t&p=1172991. My apologies once again for not posting sooner. |

Looks like it's time for me to look up mecha rules... Are they in the WAR! supplement? Alternatively, I'm sure my lowest force fire spirit would be willing to detonate herself inside the missile if it meant she could GTFO and away from The Darkness... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

I haven't really read War!. I think a mecha is mostly a vehicle. I am guessing the same rules as would apply to a drone applies to the Mecha.
The accident power works really well on Missiles. Effectively they trigger the need for a piloting check, IIRC its with a minus equal to the power of the spirit. |

Sorry I've not been giving this thread much attention recently! I am working on it honest!
Mecha are just vehicles and use those rules. For simplicity I'd look up the table on drone stuff in SR4a as it gives a good summary of all the rolls you are likely to need - they basically pilot themselves if you aren't jumped in. Assume you have a command program of 6 if it's not listed on your sheet. Mickle, don't see how you could command drones but if you think there's a way... IFF transmitters are a bit vulnerable to hackers! |

I thionk the drone table is p247 (it's in the wireless world section) and that's effectively what the mecha are, you just happen to be inside them.
Haruko wants the 'jumped-in' dice pools and Tris wants the 'remote-controlled' ones So dodge for the super heavy is equal to your response rating (assuming you don't go full defense?!?) |

Trouble never comes just one thing at a time:
I bought a tablet in the end, am sitting in starbucks OK so back to dump shock: My understanding of the situation is, I am attacking a guy who is raising a missile launched to shoot at me. I am moving to get cover (and given the time the missile will take, probably several seconds) I will be in full cover using the tree as a barrier. I still cannot get an invisible castle account: I suspect their emails are not working as I have now tried 6 different user names, so if you don't mind aria, I'll just get you toroll Shooting 20 die, please adjust for minus's. I have a gyro mount, so probably don't get 'me moving'. My defense is 5 die, plus perhaps 2 hot Sim, and 4 dodge. I'm mostly relying on the tree taking the hit. I think a few feet of wood will really make a difference! I am of course preparing to dodge out of the way when it starts to fall! I think my post covers the above, so I'all wait to see how the rocket launcher exchange goes before racing to where the girl was gesturing |

I’m sorry to say that I think I need to wind this thread up. I think I bit off more than I can chew on this one and it hasn’t quite succeeded in the way that I imagined. I think in future milspec stuff should be left to the computer games – pbp is probably too slow for the high octane action stuff I’d been after and SR is better suited to small numbers of sneaky bastards rather than big tank battles!
That said I would encourage you to move you characters into one of my other threads – Tris would work nicely in the Circles of Power thread and Mal and Haruko (with some tweaking granted) could be worked into the ongoing 2072 thread, perhaps Emerging: Tribe would offer you both something. If you go on with your characters please add a flashbacks flaw to them (no bonus BP but will only be used by me to add some depth to reflect what’s happened in this game). I will write a closing scene for this thread that should give some hints as to why I want you to take this flaw. It’s a bit retcon but I’ll fudge the timeline to say that this thread occurred in 2072 ( I think I said ‘73+ originally) and it will tie into events that are unfolding in my other threads. |

No worries, and I think it's understandable especially since you've got a new addition to the family. I'll put Tris on ice for the time being, and just stick with Gemeaux in 2072. ^_^
