Revan disappointed in his recon feeling Kit would be ok and nothing life threatening. Revan focuses more on trying to id any magical support they have and seeing what area are warded against magical attack.

If we want to get the Chulos and the Black Rains more involved with each other, he might not be our best bet, since he has been working with the Black Rains in the past. On the other hand, he is not a fan of the Chulos for sure, and might know of other ways to get them occupied. So, what do you think? Should we try to have a word with him about the situation? >>

Few other options presenting themselves and time running short if the trucks are an option, the team spent the early part of the afternoon running down contacts looking for Charlie. It really doesn't take them long to find out that he is hanging out at Luigi's, a family restaurant of the Italian variety frequented by IBMs (Italian Business Men).

The restaurant is on a street corner of downtown Loveland. Parking is both curbside, in a small lot behind the restaurant and in a small public lot a block over. Jazz is able to find a spot about half a block away. As the team approaches the entrance, they notice a pair of bulky men in cheap suits meandering outside. Looking to the astral, Revan sees the shimmer of a ward in the entrance way and a pair of watchers sniffing around the party. Kit smells the cheap cologne masking sweat, perfume and sex lingering on the first and the cannoli, sausage and cigar smoke on the second. Jazz maps out a plethora of comlinks in the area, including the ones for the two apes at the door.

One of the two look at the trio, "So what's you'z three want?"

Jazz steps forward towards the two guards.

"Good evening, gentlemen! We are looking for Charlie. You know him, I suppose? And before you ask, no we do not have an appointment. But I am quite sure, that he is interested in hearing what we got to say. Maybe you could tell him, that we want to talk with him about the Chulos. Would that be possible?"

The woman smiles while waiting for an answer (or a puzzled look on his face, telling her to use more simply structured sentences).

He starts to wave her off, then registers... "Chulos..." He looks past them, obviously using AR for a moment before returning his focus to the team. "He'll talk with you. No weapons. No Magic."

The other guy reaches in the door and pulls out a pair of hand scanner wands. One is matte black, the other looks green'ish bulb in the shape of a wand. He steps towards Jazz first with them.

"Of course."

Jazz pulls out her light pistol in an extremely non-threatening manner and hands it over.

"Won't find anything else here. Well, no weapons, anyways..."

Then she spreads her arms and lets him do his scan.

The goon waves the wand around Jazz, lingering a moment, preoccupied with her breasts... and almost smiling, before waving her on and moving on to Revan. Wand begins glow as it passes near Revan's ring. He grunts then raises a hand, "You stay out here."

He turns to Kit looking her up and down; her very long legs and he gets that something just isn't right look.

A smile and a heaping dose of Kit's natural charisma cause the guard to ignore her metagenic qualities. The glow from his wand as it passes over the pearl is something different however. He motions her towards Revan then turns back to Jazz. "Looks like just you'z then."

Stepping into the restaurant, she notes dim lighting, giving it a cozy, romantic vibe. The low-light on her contacts kicks in immediately, negating any negative effects for the change in lighting. About half a dozen of the tables are occupied. Several couples another pair with a quartet of goons each and the last by a pair of men. As Jazz steps in, one of the men at the last table gets up and steps aside, leaving the seat out for Jazz.

As she approaches, the man sitting rises, gesturing for Jazz to sit, then sits as she does. The man standing off to the side, assists with her chair, as a gentleman.

The seated man then speaks, "Obviously, I'm Charlie, but you have me at a loss...?"

Jazz gives the man a genuine smile, apparantly pleased by his show of good manners.

She sits down and waits for him to do the same, before she answers.

"Nice to meet you, Charlie. I'm Jazz. You wonder, of course, why I am here. Well, let's say, we have a mutual problem. And I am here, because I hope, that you are as much interested in solving this problem as I am."

"Yes." He replies, "I like to solve problems. I'm even more interested in other people solving them for me. What are you proposing?"

"That's good to hear. What do I have in mind? Well, that's the part that is not entirely clear, yet. All I know is, that the Chulos are a problem, and we want that problem gone. Not necessarily in the most drastic way, but they should at the very least learn to know their place, if you get the drift. As I happen to have heard, that you aren't their biggest fan either, I thought to come over and chat a little about how we might accomplish that. We, that is the people I represent and myself, will be doing the work here. I did not expect anything else. What I do expect from you is a little help, so we will have it easier to get it done, which in turn should also be in your interest. So, how could that look like?"

"I have collected some information on the gang, already, their leader, Madre, and three lieutenants, Verka, Vibora-Muerte, and Kukri. Also heard some rumors about a forth, but couldn't find much else than that. There's also a hacker, who goes by the handle Legba, who is either a member or working for them, and making some of the dirt in the 'trix disappear. Maybe you can fill out some blanks here, or maybe you know something that might be useful for us?"

"And, I know that the Chulos and the Black Rains are big time rivals, so giving the Rains some support might also help getting things go the way we want it. I believe that you get along with them quite a bit better than with the Chulos, so that might be something you could help us with. Getting in touch with the right people."

As Jazz speaks, Charlie nods in agreement. When she completes her outline, he begins to speak, picking points to add commentary. "Legba is a new name for us. I assume you have matrix resources that can work that angle given your successes there?"

He takes a moment in thought, then continues. "I'm sure you already know that an arrangement we have with the Rains is currently being impacted by the Chulos- As well as my own personal debts to be squared with them." He rubs a rib, unconsciously as he ends that thought.

"Vibora-Muerte is managing the operations that cause conflict with the Rains. Verka deals with defending the currently held territory while Kukri is running expansions west and north." He again pauses before continuing, "If you would like to hurt the Chulos, I have a proposal. Vince said you have several magical types outside in addition to yourself? We plan on teaching those gang-banger upstarts a little lesson soon. I would be willing to let your team ride along to add some punch. Interested?"

As he asks about her Matrix resources, Jazz just gives him a knowing smile and lets him continue.

When he spills out some bits about an arrangement with the Black Rains, she nods, no reason to let him know that this is new to her. Maybe she would dig into this further at an appropriate time.

"Well, I don't see why not. Just to be clear, we are no blunt instruments. We are more like a precision tool, if you understand."

Smiling again, she sorts the thoughts in her mind... Kukri seems to be their man, from what Charlie said, while Vibora-Muerte is his biggest concern at the moment.

"Would you mind to let the rest in as well, then? Or do you prefer if I ask them for their consent by comm?"

Charlie smiles. "Excellent." He gestures behind Jazz and a waiter steps up with a bag. The bag is handed to Jazz. Inside are to go containers and the side of the bag is warm. "Regrettably, my time to break bread with you is short at the moment. Please take these calzones with my apologies and perhaps, when this ride along is completed to our mutual satisfaction, I can sit down with your entire team."

He stands, symbolizing that their meeting is coming to an end. He gestures, lightly flicking his hand, and an ARO passes between them. "This is your contact, Gentleman Johnnie. He manages... the blunt instruments."

As a final thought, when Jazz is ready to depart, he adds, "While Johnnie manages that category of assets, he himself is not."

Taking the bag of food, Jazz gets up, turning one last time towards Charlie.

"Well, then... Buona sera."

Revan stands arms crossed at the mojo scared fools, he went over in his mind how she would take them out over and over again if they had to bust in there. When jazz walked out unharmed he immediatly went about assnesi g her to make sure she wasn't carrying anything different in her aura, standing there he just waited to here what she found out.

When Jazz emerges from the restaurant, she tosses the bag to the others (carefully, of course).

"Charlie sends his regards and apologies, that he had to leave early. There's some italian food inside."

With the team reunited, Jazz proposes to relocate before telling them what the talk with Charlie has been all about.

"As assumed, Charlie has no love for the Chulos, while he has an arrangement with the Black Rains, which is currently being impacted by the other gang's activities. We have an appointment with someone named Johnnie and his guys to get up close with the Chulos for a bit. I hope that's ok with you. Might give us a bit more insight at the very least and a potential ally."
