heh, yeah, if Ghost Dragon really wanted to be sure he won't die he'd insist on a dual-natured critter be thrown through the Gate. :P

Curse you for exposing me as a newbie! :P I hadn't realized that a beta or delta clinic could be easier to set up than getting some APDS ammo, however I don't care. Ghost Dragon is subtly testing them by asking for something he knows they will have difficulty getting. If they can get the APDS, then they have the money to pay the group. If they can't, then it's safe for him to conclude, as we already know OOC, that they are operating under the radar of Ares, as an independent entity, without their knowledge or approval. Anyone with megacorporate supply chains should have NO trouble whatsoever getting 40 heavy pistol APDS rounds. Awakened critters are dangerous. Also, I don't want to have to keep up with an awakened critter, and neither does Ghost Dragon. He'd be perfectly happy to just kill it once he stepped through the gate, but he knows that Alex wouldn't be too happy about that. |

Ok you guys have about 8 hours in-game to get what ever you need and get back if you want to make the window. When everyone has done what they need to do, or 24 hours rl time has passed we will move on.

Ghost Dragon will summon an Earth Elemental, if the dirt has arrived, and then rest off any drain he incurs.

You're probably going to have to roll for me on that Earth Elemental, Shadow. I won't be back home until after 10:00 pm EST. If you haven't posted the next part of the story, then I guess I'll roll. Make it a force 6 if you do it. Then, body tests or whatever to rest off stun damage while Ghost Dragon sits in the corner and rests.

Thanks, Shadow. Working late sucks. I'm starting a new job next week, which shouldn't have so many late nights. ;)
Not being ex-military myself, I don't know what snare wire and cord are or what you would use them for. The rest, I think I understand. Mini-jokebook? In case we get bored? How much does that Compact Survival Kit weigh? I'm trying to make sure that Ghost Dragon doesn't go over his carry capacity and get overtired from carrying all that stuff. Assuming that it weighs 2 kg, carrying it should put him pretty close to his capacity. |

The kit ways 1 kilograms.
Just so I am clear, the equipment listed above was for each of you. So one complete set of everything listed for each character. Sorry Leo, no APDS rounds. But they do have ExEx if you want it. |

Are the shelters camouflaged as well?
What is the external micro-transciever's rating? |

Snare wire is for setting either hunting snares or for setting tripwire for booby traps. Cord is a commom synonym for rope in the military over here, but more common in the Navy and Marines. Mini-jokebook is also a field expedient codebook. |

Was there any evidence of another potential power source when Whisper examined the gate earlier? Something that could be identifiable now that Cougar's mentioned it?

I believe it uses an Improbability Engine to power itself. That, or like Alex mentioned earlier, they tap into the Seattle grid and drain the system dry every time they try to use it. Take your pick. :)
It's not so much that the Stargate itself requires power. It just faciliates the creation of an artificial wormhole when a concentrated neutrino beam is focused inside it. That's where most of the power requirements come from. But I might be mistaking there. |

Improbability Engine? And we FOUND one?! *Homer drool*
Seriously, though. Why would the gate suck up all that electricity if it wasn't really necessary? I have a post ready but I think I should wait for a ruling .... (Perception test for earlier if you think it applies: 1.3.3.5.8.11.11)(if scent is involved for some odd reason the results will be significantly different) |
