Well, if it's any consolation Moonstone, Cosmo had a similar change in personality at least twice before even entering the pyramid, one of which even happened back on the other side of the 'gate if memory serves. It's not like he put his hand in some alien goo inside a magical temple, tripped, then had an epiphany or anything. :)

Heh, yeah that's true enough. Instead Cosmo suddenly transformed into Rambo (He has shown some odd quirks but they've all been playful stoner material), then ordered all the other people to leave the relatively safe confines of the temple and go running through the desert, where there's no cover at all from any possible attack and they'll be exposed to all the Jaffa instead of just whoever's able to beam in piecemeal, like a bunch of headless chickens.

I considered it. I'm still thinking on it, actually. I'm certainly not actually leaving the Pyramid at a run as instructed. I just don't see how the group will last more than a hundred yards once they're outside the Pyramid, the assumption that somehow the Galaxy's largest Thunderbird will be unarmed is crazy to me. And that assumes the Jaffa will have no lesser vehicles, like those bird-machines in the movie, available.
My own strategy, assuming the group'd listen to me, would be to try to invade from the inside, preferably using Ghost Dragon's illusions to conceal ourselves until the time is right. It's probably not much more survivable than the running plan, there's probably just too many Jaffa and they are probably just too tough for us. But on the other hand at least if we use the rings to go inside their ship we won't need AV ammo and won't be dodging artillery for six klicks. |

Shadow, can the Jaffa see the shadowrunners bolting out of the room?

Well so far, they only seemed to fired on Torque when he spoke. They don't seem to have any kind of vision modifications. Like virtualy everyone in the party.
So they don't see them yet. |

Note also that I do have the skyboard's spotlight glaring into their faces, so they should at least have some problems seeing the great escape of everyone 'cept Torque. :)
Out of curiousity, where did you get this six kilometers thing? |

it seems to me that, for most of the part, the decision's been made.
milling about indecisively like a bunch of idiots is the only thing that with every certainty will get us killed. |

Ok, so now the cat is out of the bag. Earth isn't the only planet to have woke up.
@ Tziluthi, Resist a 6D with body dice. Reduce it if you have non conductive armor by the rating. @ GD, I can't recall if you allocated any spell pool dice to defense? |

I didn't because I wasn't expecting that.
Casting Lightning Bolt 4D at the guy in black. He will have to resist that and also take a knockdown test. Sorcery Test: 7, 2, 5, 5, 3, 10 = 4 successes Drain is F/2 + 1 (Damage Level +1), so it's 4D for a 4D because if the drain is already D, you add +2 to the TN for each +1 to the drain level. Drain Resistance Test, Willpower + Spell Pool: 1, 5, 1, 3, 5 + 11, 4, 8, 5, 2 = 6 successes. Light Stun. The alien guy in black also have to take a knockdown test as a secondary effect. |

I don't know what kind of rolls you want for my IC post or even if I can do it.
I also don't have dice with me, nor will I for the rest of the week. Could someone post Dashifen's dice roller link or similar? Thanks! If Chase can't just yank off the gauntlet, he'll use the HK to fire a burst at the exposed elbow of the Jaffa. If anybody has a flash or, better yet a flash/bang, now would be a good time to use it. I need to reread the action and see what Shadow lets me do action wise or I'd do it my self. Not a lot of time right now. Hopefully will have more later (unlikely) or tomorrow (slightly better odds). Pardon my terseness. :) :) :) :) :) Gotta run! |

Kevyn, a simple quickness test to slide up to the Jaffa, and a strength check to yank of the gauntlet should suffice.

It was a six kilometer hike from the Stargate to the Pyramid in the first place, remember? That's what has me so worried about travelling under fire. And I'm not worried about the walk to the exit of the Pyramid, I'm scared that their vehicle sensors will pick us up outside of it. I agree with you about this group's constant Squabbling Crechebaby, for some reason we can't seem to gel. I'm not sure why. |

From what I remember it was only about three kilometers (less than two miles) away.

I must be misremembering then. Only three kilometers under probably heavy fire from Vehicle-Scale weaponry then, (call it 167 combat turns to get there) well heck even an Otaku can soak that.
Torque will stop once he reaches the place where the corridor meets with the main chamber of the temple, so he can react that whatever's in either location. |

Os waits for Chase to get out the grenade blast area before firing.
Using the grenade launcher on the Alpha, which has smartlink-2 and rangefinder and all that. It is an impact grenade, and Os is firing into the rough centre of the group. Roll (Assault Rifles(Ares Alpha)+2 combat pool): 4, 5, 1, 3, 3, (5, 5), 1, 10 |

Dodge Test: 1, 5, 4, 1, 10, 1, 2, 3, 10 = 3 successes.
I can't find where you posted it, but I thought you had said that Nonconductive armor reduces damage, and half ballistic applies. Ghost Dragon has 2 points of nonconductive and 8 points of ballistic. In case he doesn't dodge, Damage Resistance Test: 3, 5, 4, 1 Casting Force 1 Improved Invisibility on himself Sorcery (4 + 1 = 5) Test for Imrpoved Invisibility on himself: 5, 9, 3, 2, 7, 4 = success Drain Resistance (F/2 +1 +1 = 3M) Test: 4, 2, 1, 3, 5 = Light Stun wound, 2 boxes now. Sorcery (4 + 3 = 7) Test for Imrpoved Invisibility on Torque: 4, 3, 3, 2, 23, 4 = success Drain Resistance (F/2 +1 +3 = 5M) Test: 11, 1, 1, 3, 11 = Light Stun wound, 3 boxes and moderate stun now. Sorcery (4 + 6 = 10) Test for Imrpoved Invisibility on James: 2, 2, 4, 5, 3, 2 + Spell Pool: 1, 8, 4, 2, 2 = spell failure Drain Resistance (F/2 +1 +6 = 8M) Test: 4, 3, 1, 5, 3 = Moderate Stun Wound = 6 boxes = Serious Stun. |

Oooh, three easily defeated invisibility spells that anyone with an Intelligence of 4 or higher will see through, and a boost to Moderate damage to boot. Score! :)

No shit...I guess that says something about assumptions, doesn't it? In my defense, Shadow's exposition wasn't very clear. :) I'll change my post anyway. Edit: Okey-dokey...time for a bit of overkill, Half-Life style. Rolling to hit with the grenade launcher: 2 combat pool, smartlink, rangefinder, all that. Roll (Assault Rifles(Ares Alpha)+2 combat pool): 9, 7, 4, 4, 1, (5, 9), 2, 5 |

Roll to use Stealth once we're outside the Pyramid:
01 05 03 14 01 05 Highest roll's a 14, +4 for Camo gives a +18 for anybody seeing Torque even if they do see through the spell. |
