Unfortunately I can't find anything "hybrid" like that isn't um...totally obvious porn. So. Probably won't be seeing one of those up here on this board. Link it from the Mythweavers sheet, then. Problem solved. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

So, it's 11:30 and me and Halinn are the only folk around.
I imagine it's safe to assume that nobody else is coming. |

So, it's 11:30 and me and Halinn are the only folk around. Me being present in the channel doesn't always mean anything, as well. My IRC client automatically starts up when my computer does, so if my computer's on, I'm on IRC. I generally keep it open on my second screen, so I can tell if anything happens, but not always. |

Yeah, I mentioned that I was going to be gone a couple times. (You even commented on not running the SK game since I wasn't going to be there for the start of the next arc (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) .) In any case, I'm still going to be busy until after Christmas, so don't expect much posting until after that.

Merry Christmas to all, hope you're having a better one than my younger brother, who has decided that everything in the world is coming down around him, despite evidence to the contrary. He takes things personally.

I'll be on this weekend, though I will likely need to leave early (~3 Central).
I'm not sure if I'll have a chance to write up the summary from last week before then though. |

As regards tomorrow:
I will do everything in my power to be there. But I don't honestly know if I'll be able to. My computer is getting worse, much worse. I hope a restart will pep it up, but... Well, this isn't good. This is Bad. I hope to fuck it's the graphics card this time. |

I can't be there. Getting dragged (not entirely against my will mind you) to an early show of Les Miserables's new film version.

My computer has officially gone ka-fucky. I don't dare put power on it ATM. I may be able to attend next Sunday's game, but if I do, I'll be almost bookless. Wish me luck. This is my aunt's bloody Windows 8 PoS, and I'd need to find an IRC client that will work on it.
If you have any suggestions, I'm open. |

I think that programs that work on Windows 7 will work on 8. AFAIK, the underlying system architecture is the same.

The Halinn is pretty much correct. Once you hit the desktop past the Metro interface, it's Windows 7 with some improvements or adjustments depending on your POV.

I'm dropping from this game and SD's. A game on Sundays simply isn't working for me, between schoolwork and social stuff. I need to have a weekend day open for things like that, and this will be it.
I think the cleanest way to remove Moira is to have her begin working for the Mafia doing some admin stuff. Like that, she could also qualify for the Perfect Roommate lifestyle quality for Melissa. As for Brick, perhaps his mother needed to leave Seattle in a hurry because of her runner past, and Brick decided to follow, so that whoever found her couldn't use him against her. |

Well, fuck. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)
Sometimes life can bring you pain, that's the nature of the game, but you know it won't be long, and I see you can be strong; one day it will work out fine, you just need to take the time, to remember those you left behind. Sorry to hear it, Halinn. Hope you can come back sometime. [e]Anyway, it's 9:23 on game day, I'm awaiting everybody else's hopefully imminent arrival. |

By the way: I'm going to use one of my WP grenades to immolate the poor bastard's corpse when we move on; I'll put it on like, a minute timer and stick it on top of him before we leave.

The holidays have really screwed up my schedule and I haven't gotten around to posting the last couple summaries so I'm going to condense them both into this post.
Session 5: Breaking and Entering (30 July 2072) (Everyone present got 2 karma for this somewhat short session.) After disconnecting the tap Shades and company decided to hang back and watch for about 10 minutes to see if there was any notable response to their aborted attempt at breaking into the system. With nothing forthcoming, the gang decided to reconnect the tap and let Sovereign have a go at hacking. Without much fanfare the technomancer made short work of the security and prevented the agent on the system from noticing anything further from her or Shades. A bit of poking around revealed that the system wasn't connected to anything they were particularly interested in, just a few topside sensors. It did appear that a connection was opened on a regular basis for a few seconds to copy off the logs and recorded sensor data. Whatever's going on inside, this place is staying off-grid in a big way. A quick call is made to Tanaka to see if he has any last minute data, or insights into whether his niece is a technomancer or not. He doesn't know for sure, but indicates that if she is, he hasn't heard anything about it, so it's unlikely. That data in hand, it's decided that the team needs to go in now, as it's likely that whoever is running the place will know soon that there were people poking around topside and this might prompt them to move any occupants. A small panel in the station's 'freezer' reveals a palm scanner and card reader that is quickly hacked to open a sliding tile on the floor. This leads to a two story switchback staircase that ends in an unlighted hallway. The team's spirits note that the hall seems to be filled with a cloud of something astrally active. Rather than have the spirits remain behind, they cast a pair of fireballs into the hallway. This clears the cloud, but triggers the fire suppression system, including closing the door at the base of the stairwell. Without an obvious way to circumvent this new obstruction Sunny takes her sword to it and destroys enough that the group can easily get in. The hallway is still being pumped full of a colorless suppressant, but it doesn't appear to be harmful due to the door being 'reopened', preventing it from displacing all the oxygen, so the group makes its way to the other end of the hall where there's an elevator. A flyspy and doberman are sent in first to check what kind of reception is waiting below, but contact is lost as soon as the doors to the elevator close. Once the elevator has gone down Shades prys the doors open to look down the shaft to see that it goes down another 20-25 meters. It's recalled, and the flyspy is still inside, unharmed, with a bit of footage showing a small flat-grey room at the bottom where the doberman is now waiting. Seeing no immediate threats the team heads down. They find what could be loosely called a reception area, an empty gray room with only one other exit, an unlocked hospital-style door. Over the door is an AR sign warning that no wireless devices should be taken beyond that room. Beyond the door, the group finds a hall that ends in a 'T' intersection with painted directions indicating that left is 'Decon.' and right are two logos. With a bit of looking up, it is determined that the logos belong to Monobe International and Manadyne Corporation. Rather than go towards what they surmise to be a decontamination room, the group sends the flyspy down the hall to the right. It makes it to another intersection, with each of the logos having separate directions indicated on the wall. When the flyspy enters the 'T', it is targeted by a pair of autamated HERF guns. They don't destroy it, but do some significant damage to its electronics. The spirits are sent in to take care of the guns, so as not to expose anything more critical to them. This has an unintended side-effect of dropping a pair of blast doors, closing off both forward directions. Sunny ends up smashing the doors with her superior strength, and large warded rooms are found at the ends. The wards aren't very powerful, but one does zap Sunny as she's destroying it. Inside the rooms are several shipping container sized units that seem to have been modified for living spaces. Most are one or two person affairs, having reasonable amenities. There are two on each side though that are set up more as barracks space, with 6 bunks and lockers each. All of the rooms seems to have been emptied of occupants very recently, with at least one having half-eaten food still sitting on the table inside. Session 6: Smashing and Grabbing (30 July 2072) (All present for this session get 2 karma.) With nothing found, and an unfortunately large number of guards possibly waiting on the other side, the group heads back to the area marked as 'Decon.'. There they find a large airlock style door. Not wanting to just open it an see what happens, Gretchen was sent through to see what was waiting for them. On the way through, she noted that the airlock doors were nearly half a meter thick. On the other side, there was a smattering of astrally active plants, and a significant drop in the ambient mana. They decided that the plants were likely have lilies, and should probably be left alone. Gretchen also found four more rooms, 2 of which were heavily warded. Shades decided to approach the airlock door, and was greeted by a slide out scanner panel, as well as an AR display that warned against destroying the doors. This was cause for some concerned discussion, but Sovereign went to hack the system and discovered that she had been granted admin access as soon as she logged in. This caused even more concern, but attempts to get the attention of any potential allies proved fruitless. Beyond some sensor data, it didn't appear there was much on the system, but there was another connected system, that when scanned popped up another message that just said 'Room B2. You should hurry.' This prompted the group to finally open the airlock, and get inside as quickly as it would allow. Sunny went through astrally to destroy one of the wards, but without any astral signs, she ended up guessing wrong and destroyed the ward on an unoccupied room. The ward on the other room proved more difficult to destroy, but it eventually collapsed under an unrelenting assault. As soon as it broke, several of the lilies near the room died, as a rush of mana came pouring out. Gretchen rushed inside once the ward was gone, and found herself in a room filled with completely chaotic mana, but despite the discomfort, she managed to identify three people inside. One was astrally active and appeared to be laying on the table in the center of the room, while the other two appeared to be working on them. A short conversation was also overheard, with a woman telling a man to hurry up, or they'd all be dead. As Gretchen relays this information to the others she looks for a semi-hidden spot to materialize inside the room. The others hurry to the door, and Shades finds it locked when she pushes on it. Scant seconds later she can hear several clicks from within the door, but she uses her shotgun pistol to blast the door open. This throws the door loudly back against the wall, ruining its hinges. The woman inside seems exasperated by the turn of events and tells the man in the room to 'Finish it.' However, Gretchen insinuated a suggestion into his mind that surrender might be preferable, so he hesitates. Some terse orders later the man, an orderly of some sort, continues unhooking the girl on the table from the apparatus that's connected. It seems they were in the process of setting up for some surgery when the group broke in, but nothing other than sedation had happened yet. The woman seems to be the one left in charge, and she refuses to answer any questions before slumping in the corner dejectedly with a lightly veiled threat about everyone dying. Shortly thereafter the orderly finishes unhooking the girl, and informs the group that she'll be conscious in about 10 minutes, but that she shouldn't be walking for at least a few hours. As the group prepares to leave, Shades addresses the woman in the corner. When she doesn't respond, Gretchen investigates and finds her completely unresponsive, with dilated eyes and a hint of blood at their corners. Shades quickly grabs her commlink and jacks in to find readouts indicating catastrophic failure in several state of the art cyber- and nanoware systems, as well as a running timer with 45 seconds remaining. Reading this as an urgent reason to get out of the facility, the group heads first for the airlock with the orderly in tow, but they decide that will take too long to cycle the doors. Sunny finds the spot where the door to some service tunnels the orderly mentioned should be and hacks a good sized hole in the wall to reveal a steep passage down into darkness. As soon as one of the drones step into the hall low emergency lighting comes on, giving better visibility. The passage slopes down and around a corner. The drones are sent first as the rest of the group follows as quickly as they can. Just after turning the corner the lead drone is inundated with bullets from a pair of drones that appear to have been left behind. They severely damage the lead drone, but don't destroy it. Sovereign orders the drones to return fire, and one manned by her sprite is a bit overzealous in its use of a grenade launcher, resulting in the opposition disintegrating from the explosions. It takes a bit of prodding to get the orderly to continue after the very brief firefight, and they pass a door labelled 'Main Power', and a second unlabeled door. Sunny is leading and nearly runs into some monowire strung across a corner. A quick inspection reveals that the wire is connected to some concealed bundles in the corners. Shades dashes back to the unlabelled door and finds a ladder heading up about 30 meters. Worryingly the shaft containing the ladder has a spiral of tiny holes lining the walls almost the entire way up. While Shades looks at the ladder, Sovereign has one of her drones fire a grenade into the corner to trigger any traps there. The resulting explosion damages the walls and causes large pieces of the ceiling tiles to fall down, but the hallway after seems structurally sound. Past the corner it appears to lead to some elevator doors. With the timer running down, the group decides to brave the elevator rather than risk the apparent trap on the ladder. It's a small elevator that doesn't appear to have been used in some time. Still, they barely manage to fit everyone inside with some creative stacking. The weight limit is dangerously close, but the elevator creaks to life and begins its ascent as the timer runs out. There aren't any obvious effects from the timer, but a few seconds later the orderly begins convulsing with no externally obvious reasons. Sunny heals the man, but it seems to only temporarily relieve the problem. Soon the elevator reaches its destination, apparently in an apartment building near where they entered the facility. With no apparent solutions to the orderly's problem, Shades decides that killing him quickly is the best mercy they can offer, and so she shoots him, and burns the body to prevent the spread of whatever caused his problem. |

Oh, hey, Cass:
Born Rich puts the Karma -> Nuyen limit at 250, right? Also, will I have any of the Karma on this new character from the last run, or will he start from 0? |

It should add 20 karma to the spending limit, which would be an extra 50k nuyen. You can keep the attendance karma, just drop the 15 from the last run itself. |

Does suprathyroid still add +1 rea with the adept IP/Rea power? Edit: And I assume I can set a Ruthenium Polymer Coating to a specific color pattern, to mimic normal clothes? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) edit2: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JoWuLkh...sPDs/edit?pli=1 The page. Ignore the stuff at the top. Still unfinished on knowledge skills, and more karma to spend, but I'm going to be at clinical all day on saturday, so I'll probably have to fill in any little stuff Saturday night and Sunday during the game. |
