Horizon has some of the best and brightest college grads working for it in every field of study. Arcanoarcheology is a new field, and Horizon has just hired on one of the most promising minds to ever graduate from MIT&T. Both Draco and the Atlantean Foundation want this student working for them, and they’re both willing to pay big to get what they want.

Ok. We've just successfully completed the first Mission of Season 4, Back in Business. Unfortunately, we had a couple of people lost from the team due to real world issues.

So I am opening up recruitment for 2, maybe 3 more players.

Currently we have:
Mr. White the human Face played by Dak - already confirmed
Gardner the giant mage played by kiirnodel - already confirmed
TundraWolf the cybered combat specialist played by ChromeZephyr - still needs to confirm that he's continuing

Mach_Ten has already PM'd interest in joining the team. Mach_Ten, please post up what you are interested in playing in this game.

That leaves one or two more positions open. We are using standard 400 BP character creation rules.

Who is interested?

that SO needs adding to your signature (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm thinking about an Adept. Spy / Art thief / con artiste / infiltration specialist.

if that doesn't fit let me know

I still say it wasn't worth the effor to try and fence the boat. But yeah, if we want to make sure to be able to sell stuff, we handle it before meeting with the cops.

In any case, welcome to the team Mach_Ten, sounds like an interesting character, should fit in without too much trouble. As long as you don't expect me to sneak in with you... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

In hindsight, clearly true. But I/my character was hoping to turn over a couple thousand nuyen for it.

That would totally fit the group and add some much needed skills to the team.

TW's up for yoinking someone else. What's the amount of downtime between Mission 1 and this one? 'Cause TW needs to get some more EX-Ex (or some APDS if he can swing it) for the AK and add some fire retardant to his armor jacket. Uhhh..and pay another month's rent, if that much time has passed.

Well. You'll need to roll for the avail of finding that gear. APDS is 16F or EX-Ex is 12F. How much are you wanting to get and are you looking for it yourself or trying to have a contact do it for you?

As far as SRM officially is concerned the downtime equals the amount of time you spend doing something in downtine(helaing; training, buying gear, whatever). If that takes a month's time you would need to pay your rent. Barring specific downtime activities, I generally say its 2-3 weeks in between missions.

He'd go to his Fixer contact for the gear, as 2 Charisma and 0 Negotiation means have someone who can look for you.. He'd be looking for 40 rounds of the APDS (a full magazine, essentially), or 30 of the EX-Ex if the APDS wasn't available to replenish the current magazine. Also looking to add Fire Resistance 6 to the Jacket, as TW does not feel like repeating the charbroiled experience any time soon.

Just as a heads up, I have an unexpected day off tomorrow and the weekend is booked solid, so I most likely won't be back here until Monday. Sorry if this is going to cause any problems.

Plus we still need to find one if not two more runners. My suggestion would be for two more (total of six) that way if one or two drop out again (hopefully none will) we won't be in as rough a spot. Plus the missions are designed to support up to six, even seven players.

I am SO interested! Any chance to play more Shadowrun is always desirable. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I've never done a play by post game before so I can understand if that excludes me, but I'm certainly willing to learn / give it a shot!

I have a combat generalist (Shooting, first aid, demolitions..) ready in Chummer, a former California Free State ranger. Is there anything else I should know? What to name my fixer, any super important details? (Like: We need a decker, not a combat medic!)

You're in. No worries about this being your first forum game. Everybody has to get a start somewhere. Demolitions is certainly a skill the team could have used in the last mission. So if that's what you want to play go for it.

First aid is pretty well covered by the Giant mage, but it can be helpful to have a backup for something like that.

Currently we have no hacker in the group since the previous one had real life issues. So that is an option too. But generally Missions are designed so that you don't have to have every single archtype covered.

A rigger, or at least a getaway driver, could also be useful. The other player we lost was the teams rigger. But again, it's not required.

I'm of the mindset that players should play whatever gets them excited to jump into the game, and I can adjust the scenario as needed depending on their skills. Or you can always hire an NPC for a quick matrix hack or getaway drive.

couple of questions mate sorry,

can we use Karma build or only BP? (just cause that's what I've just used in the other one) I don't know the pro's con's of either.

as an adept, are you allowing the optional "Way of the .. xxxx adept" ? and other ways to reduce power cost etc.

is there any additional Karma for the newbies ? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

can someone help me spec up "Adam Jensen" as an adept with only minimal 'Ware' ? i.e. sneaky, invisible, stabby in the backy type. that steals the stuff then escapes, but can put on a good fight.

to save De-Railing this post, feel free to PM me any tips. ta

Cheers

I'm running official Shadowrun Missions adventures, the ones they run at conventions that have specific rules associated with them. So, Build Point character generation only. And no additional Karma for new characters. Sorry.

I do allow the various Way of the adpets qualities as they are official qualities.

Speaking of quallities, there are some that the SRM rules don't allow, mostly because there isn't time to bring them into play at convention games, http://www.shadowrun4.com/wp-content/uploa...Season_Four.pdf
If you don't plan to ever use the character at a convention, I don't see a problem with using those qualities however. We have at least one player who uses his character at conventions though. So i stay withing official guidelines for most everything else.

I have a friend who moved away from our home group that played a Rigger. I'm going to talk to him later about playing, so that might be our Rigger. I'll let you know.

My say is to definitely play what interests you, don't worry too much about what we might need.

Oh, and having more people with First Aid is always helpful.

I have a couple of characters ready to roll if you require their services:

Hacker/Face
Hacker/Medic
Combat Mage

I prefer hackers to all else, and I know you've already got a face character in the group. I'd be best in playing the hacker/medic as he is...well...interesting, to say the least.

Let me know!

The team could use a good Hacker of any sort. We do have a full Face character and Healing is well covered by the mage, but having backups for any and all skill groups can be useful. So whatever you want to play can work.

I believe we've got our six players then once I get character sheets or chummer files from the new players so I can look over them.

Dak playing the Face, Mr. White
kiirnodel playing the Mage, Gardner
ChromeZephyr playing the Combat Specialist, TundraWolf

And new to the team:
Mach_Ten playing an adept thief type
O'Ryan possibly playing a combat generalist
Severus Snape possibly playing a hacker with some backup skills

Fleshed out the character more, ready to go! What do I do with the chummer file to make it available for viewing, or do you want me to just type everything into the "Cast of Shadows" thread?
