I've received mine, and it's a pretty cool package. The game box is a bit crude but the anthology book looks very nice.

Got LOOTZ!
And by lootz, I mean a box mostly full of styrofoam and some chunks of fun in there as well. (Yes, in Australia, yesterday) The USB had been rattled out of alignment so I had to whack it a few times before I could load up the key software and extras but the artbook was very nice. Also, wore the shirt for shirts-n-giggles today at work. Most of the comments were, "Never heard of them, industrial or goth-rock?" When pressed, I said "METAL" Still, nice to get what we kicked in for, good times. Also, the lovely was in rapture over her DocWagon card:) -Tir |

It looks like SRR is on today's Steam sale for 55% off. 22 more hours left of this sale right now.

Finally dusted this off and started playing. Tons of fun! I'm really enjoying it.
I only have a few complaints: 1) It's really easy. I made a street sam with some decking. Even on Hard, he polishes up almost everything with very little issue. 2) Dodger is the biggest pansy. For a legendary decker, he is the WORST. The only blessing is there was a ley line nearby so every time he farted out, I'd punch a heal spell into him and he'd get right back into it. But the fact that my skill-3 decker was at all competitive next to him is pretty awful. 3) Healing spells are fantastic. There's only one NPC who has that spell, but she more than made up for her cost, in the price of medkits alone. I don't think the archetypes are very balanced. Shamans shine for a few rounds, but otherwise are largely useless. I haven't run with an adept yet, but reading up they're the worst. |

Shamans are useful for their haste spell, so don't entirely count them out. But yes, adepts are terrible. Riggers too. |

Riggers aren't terrible, you just have to super-pump their rigging skill at the expense of basically everything else. The S-rated flying combat drone (And did they really have to borrow Japanese Nintendo-Hard rating scales for drones,) is pretty beefy and capable of cleaning house on its own against most foes... But yeah, that is a bit reaching. |

But, seriously, I do agree adepts are a little bit soggy. In SR3 the advantage to being an adept was that most of your powers were "always on". In SR:R you have to activate a lot of them which sucks big time in comparison. Also, trolls in melee combat when armed with reach 2 weapons were pretty instadeath in SR3, but they clearly are not in SR:R. |

Is it possible to download fan missions from steam community if I don't have steam installed on my computer?
Thought I'd try this out: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/file...xt=The+Deep+One Not that I've had much time to keep at it, but I still haven't figured out how to load up any fan missions. So, I've been playing GOG stuff instead when I have a bit of video game time. I just took up Carmageddon 2 last night. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Great game, but wow, I must really suck at racing games. I am having a lot of difficulty finishing the first time trial level in that game, and the online FAQ says it's "not too hard". D'oh! |

nexus mods is my go-to. However, for SR:R, Steam seems to be a little faster and easier. Most of the content is posted on both sites (I started at Nexus before jumping over), but I suspect Steam has a few items not reflected on Nexus. Is there a reason you don't use Steam?

I'm exclusively using a laptop while I'm overseas and the connection is very unreliable and slow. Steam would probably be a pain in the ass. I have Steam and lots of games on a desktop that's on the other side of the world but I guess I haven't logged in for over a year now. Which is OK because usually I don't have time for video games. It's more of an occasional thing for me now. |

Gotcha. Steam is a bit weird, you subscribe through the website, then when you log into SR:R, it downloads all the content as long as you're on the title screen. None of them are too huge, but you don't have any control over what is downloading or the error checking or anything.
What are you doing overseas again?? |

Just in case anyone forgot, the Berlin DLC/expansion is released today. Steam is saying it will be available in about 3 hours.

They fixed adepts, they fixed saves, and it looks like they fixed cyberware and essence. And if the message I get when I start the game up means what I think, the changes also work in the original campaign.
The hotel computer admin code admin was easy enough to guess, but the bathroom code has me stumped. Probably nothing in the bathroom, but I still need to know. |

No, the Cyberware Essence and Nuyen Values over all are still wrong.
They fixed your ability to equip other runners with gear from your stash. No way, no how, aside from med kits and grenades . . . And it's still pretty railroady especially in the beginning. And it just crashed on me too, which the first part never did actually. |

[ Spoiler ] It was pretty amusing. |
