Ali could definitely be a part of the infiltration team, working their way into the facility and bypassing locks/security measures where necessary.

All characters can be considered approved (I don't believe in fine tooth combing particularly - up to you lot to get the numbers right (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ). As I'm stretched for time, if anyone would like a bonus 2 karma could they go through this thread and link the characters in the same way that I've done in the master OoC? That way I can copy paste that into post 3...

Player: Name in Bold Character: Link - Vague description of archetype

Thanks!

And the GM Bribes begin.

Lany has the acting ability to pose as a nurse, and is tough enough to help protect anyone else on the inside along with Nikki. I think we should likely get the patient we are inserting inside through a fake transfer, just need a fake file, and a
fake Van. The tricky part is getting him into the long-term areas with staff who have been assigned to the rooms we are aiming for.

I am currently running a very active PbP campaign set in Denver - given the number of players you have in this one, I'm going to bow out, I don't really have the time to commit to both.

Best of luck (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Bummer.
But good luck with the other game!

Still leaves us with eight.
I think.
Everyone has chimed in fairly recently, except not heard from Chance since 8 Jan.

Granted, not much been happening.

Still with us, Chance?

As for the plan - seems everyone wants to con our way in as opposed to sneak our way in.
No argument there.

Of the two con ideas - pretend to be medical types and pretend to be HVAC repairmen, I'll throw my vote for the latter.
The reason is that the place is full of medical types. It is a lot harder to convince people you are something you are not when they are that thing you are not.
All the docs and nurses will more easily spot a fake medical type than they would a fake HVAC type.
They will know what sort of medical personnel should be where, but they won't really have much clue where the HVAC repair people should be.
It is just an easier role to play, an easier con to pull off.

But that is just my two cents, since Al is probably going to be either on top of a nearby building with a rifle, or waiting in a getaway vehicle.
I sort of think that because Aria has sort of hinted there ought to be an outside element, and nearly everyone else has volunteered for the inside team.
But cool either way.

The 'patient' is described as being willing - it's a mole insertion, perhaps for data gathering, perhaps for some other reason...?!?

Ah, ok. That simplifies things.

Sounds good to me. If it's possible, LeFey will hack the machinery or have a sprite use Gremlins on it. That way, we won't have to convince anyone there's a problem. Maybe half of us can go in as the repair team (the other half will wait outside in case anything goes wrong), along with the mole. He'd be in disguise until we find a spot without staff or cameras. Then he could switch clothes and we can tell one of the personnel there's a patient wandering around.

Additionally, Colin will be able to bullshit as many people as we need to get in under the guise of an HVAC repair team.

"Oh, well, your main rotor coil is busted, which causes the coolant to leak all over the flux capacitor. I can fix it, but I need one of my guys to monkey around in the Jeffries tube so he can jimmy the latch and make sure the Reactor doesn't leak."

@Adamu: Strong point about the Medical guises vs. the HVAC guises. You can only fake so much knowledge around professionals. An HVAC repair job could also take several days at least to service all the problems, so we would have a good window of
access to the facility.

If we go the HVAC route, we still have the problem of how to get the mole into the long-term care area, which I remember being described as having longer tenured staff if the area who will notice if a new patient pops up in their area. Perhaps
these problems could be solved over the Matrix with some creative hacking and reassigning and rescheduling the staff in the necessary areas of the hospital.

Definitely a problem to solve.

So - does the mole we are inserting have to have any particular physical appearance?
I note that in the original mission parameters, it says there is also a list of names that we can get paid bonuses to extract.
Is it worth exploring the possibility of killing two birds with one stone with a switch?

I am pretty sure the mole is already chosen, it is a "willing" individual, however much that means, so sadly I doubt we will be able to do the two for one.

I know we have the exterior map, but do we have any maps of the floorplan inside?

What level of security does the facility have, both physical (number of guards on duty) and electronic/matrix security?

Yes, mole chosen.

Does the mole have to be in there as a specific cover identity, or do they just need to be in there?
If the latter, then access files on the extraction candidates ahead of time, choose the best fit, and alter mole's appearance.

May not be doable, but worth asking, cuz elegant if pulled off.

I still think we could con our way in as HVAC people into the secure-wing/long-term care. They still need heating/cooling. However, Someone is going to have to hack their way into the system to not only to move the longer tenured staff from the wing/ward as necessary, but to also insert records/files on the mole.

It's one thing to get the mole inside, but we'll have to do what we can to insure they're not discovered right away and removed.

Again, spitballing.

Dr. From weekend crew checks them in (not really). Same doctor gets discovered stealing morphine and is fired. New patient is checked in with no one actually working at the facility having met them. Lots of hacking, but doable.

Fraggin awesome idea, I don't think I had considered the outright termination of a couple of Staff members, but that could help tremendously.

I think your spitball hit its mark.

We could even plant the evidence that they DID steal morphine by breaking into their lockers, I could pick the locks easily once we are inside disguised as the HVAC crew. When they catch someone stealing pharmaceuticals at a Medical facility,
they get Banned from entering the building FAST. Shouldn't be any time for them to notice the insertion of our mole.

This is all brilliant.

As an added twist, try to choose a doctor with skills that could be useful in the future, and keep hold of his personal info.
Then we'll have a line on an unemployable and desperate doctor.
Good future resource.

So as the plan takes shape, how much stuff (hacking, scouting, etc.) are we supposed to ACTUALLY implement?
My impression, and I could be wrong, is that we are supposed to simply make the plan and present it in broad strokes to Aria, who will then base the "mid-run start" on that.
Is that right?

OR
on second thought, choose a guy to get fired who actually is dirty in some way or another. Easier to make stick, and more importantly we don't have to feel guilty about his three little girls being raised in the barrens.

If Summer's interest in this place is well founded, that shouldn't be hard.

I think the HVAC crew on the inside will have a disproportionate amount of females on it.

Girl Power!

Absolutely! Can you post a character concept here or in the main OoC and we'll see how we can fit you into the thread without having to bend space time too much (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) don't worry, it should be perfectly doable!

Don't know if you had anything in mind, we've got a TM, couple of samurai types, possibly one or two others active at the moment, obvious lack being magic but don't feel you have to play a mage...

that's great!

I've been thinking of playing a tough as nails, cigar smoking, ex military gun adept. I'll post the build on the general forum. I hope it would fit with the overall theme of the run and party.
