Hi, here's Betty:
“Betty” “Betty” (not her birth name) is a woman with more brains than cash. Unable to afford college, she went from high school to secretarial work. Her first boss was an auditor. Betty learned a great deal working for him, including when to run away. Worried that the crime boss who had her first employer killed might kill her, Betty has been working temporary gigs since, with the occasional shadowrun. She looks credible in a pencil skirt, speaks three languages and makes a good cup of coffee. Body 3, Strength 3, Quickness 3, Willpower 4, Intelligence 5, Charisma 4. Quick healer 2 Computer 4, Biotech 1, Etiquette 4, Negotiation 4, Electronics 5, Pistols 2, Edged weapons 2, Car 2, Build/repair computer 1, Build/repair electronics 1 Corporate culture 4, Seattle Area knowledge 4, Seattle area businesses 4, Forensic accounting 5, Statistics 3, Seattle organized crime 3, Seattle politics 2 English, Japanese, Spanish 90K Nuyen -20K for the car. -200 for Medkit -100 for 2 medkit supplies -1000 for biomonitor -5000 for DocWagon -700 for armored coat -2800 for Fichetti Security 500 Pistol with smartlink, silencer and laser sight -200 for 4 magazines -200 for 2 concealable holsters -500 for fine clothes -30 for Knife -4700 for goggles with smartlink, lowlight and thermographic vision -5000 for 5000 MP tabletop Personal computer -2000 for Pocket secretary -100 for wristphone -30K for 6 months of middle apartment Contact – decker Contact – street samurai -5000 level 1 contact, doctor -10K level 2 contact, headhunter 2,470 left BACKGROUND: 1) Where's your character from? Betty is from Seattle. 2) Does your character have a family? Betty hasn’t been in touch with her family in years. She gets very depressed during the holidays. 3) Does your character have an ethnic background? Betty doesn’t claim an ethnic background. When asked, she likes to put down “human” or “other”. If she has to be serious, she’ll claim to be white. APPEARANCE 4) What does your character look like? She’s about 5’7” (170cm) and 140lbs with dark hair and brown eyes. 5) What does your character dress like? Betty has some business formal outfits, but usually is in business casual. 6) Does your character have physical quirks? No. SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES, AND RESOUCES 7) Where did your character learn their Active Skills? Most of her active skills were learned on various jobs. Some of those jobs were shadowruns. Where did your character learn their Knowledge Skills? Betty is a graduate of the School of Hard Knocks. Some of them she learned growing up. Some of thrm she learned on various jobs. 9) Where did your character get his goodies? Betty prefers to buy from merchants who will take her nuyen and keep their questions to themselves. 10) Where does your character live? Betty lives in a modest apartment with a view of the railroad tracks. There is a hill nearby. 11) Who are your character's contacts? The street samurai and decker are who Betty refers employers to if they mistake her for either. She stays on good terms with that doctor just in case. The last contact is Betty’s favorite headhunter. 12) Who are your character's enemies? Betty really, really hopes that the organized crime gang that killed her first boss isn’t still looking for her. 13) How did your character learn magic? Huh what? The closest Betty gets to magic is typing 100 words per minute. PERSONALITY 14) What are your character's likes and dislikes? Betty likes money, books and challenges. She hates most of her jobs. 15) What is your character's moral code? Betty is pretty honest. She has a strong work ethic. 16) Does your character have goals? Betty would love to be so wealthy that she could read all day, every day. 17) Does your character have personal beliefs? Betty went to Sunday school as a kid. She believes in God, but her views on gays, abortion and marriage pretty much guarantee no church will have her. 18) Does your character have personality quirks? Betty sharply separates her business time from her personal time. Potlucks are okay; meeting cow-irkers outside of the office is not. RUNNING THE SHADOWS 19) Why does your character run the shadows? Betty badly needs some challenge in her life. Shadowrunning right under an entire office’s collective nose provides that. The pay is good, too. 20) How does your character view his/her role as a shadowrunner? Betty doesn’t think about that much. She feels that God promised her an interesting, challenging life and hasn’t delivered on it. |

Welcome to Dumpshock, Betty (person).
Wow! Betty (PC) might actually be able to understand that ^$^$&$ 90 page contract Blue has tried to unravel. And ... she has a car! |

Betty, looking sharp. I like it.
I'd just spend, say, 500NY on 250 rounds of regular ammunition, unless you want something fancy like gel rounds or explosives. Then you should be ready. And Blue will no longer have to stand alone against the Biopocalypse! |

I don't want you to think of it as a skillet.
I prefer "crucible". It sounds more alchemical. |

Are you, then, considering changing your DS name to "smeltkroes"?

That remains to be seen.
Shall the raw material be elevated to orichalcum? Time alone will tell. |

Bastard, if you still want to join this as a 3rd Ed game, then I'll recommend a technical skillset. Could be deckerish, could be riggerish, could be a simple, multi-skilled investigator type. But that seems to be where pbangarth struggles the most in-game.

Hey! Let's be clear. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
That's where Blue struggles, and pbangarth expertly plays the role. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

I'm beginning to feel as if I have bad breath or something. A lot of players have bailed this game, and Bastard has gone underground.

There you go.
Double-check my flaws. I moved a lot over from 5e as custom. Karmakaze 3e EDIT: Also haven't rolled for starting cash yet. I'm beginning to feel as if I have bad breath or something. A lot of players have bailed this game, and Bastard has gone underground. Ha! I was caught in the ice storm that hit Texas through through Ohio. I don't know if this was caused by your bad breath, though. I told Koekepan I needed two weeks, but my first character was denied, so I took another week to build this one. |

I am the ogre standing athwart the bridge!
Bastard: I'm on board with everything with one exception: I'd halve the value of your custom SINner flaw because while it's nationwide, etc. etc. etc., it's not a criminal SIN and in fact might help her in some cases. I do like the contacts, so no problem there. Fix that one item, and if you think you can, do the 20 questions post that some others have done, and then we can rock out like it's 2060. |

Alright! Someone who is not a fish out of water on the streets of Seattle. Thank Owl!
But ... a 6'5" elf?? I can see the NPC reactions now, as Blue and Karmakaze show up together. Lemme see... "Whoa! Boris and Natasha!" (Sorry, Koekepan. Preemptive diss.) Welcome aboard, Bastard. |

Thanks! Is your dude short? That will be so awesome! I didn't want to read too much and give myself a meta edge.

I will have to make some other adjustments to maintain my edge/flaw balance, too. |

Of course, after firefights in which good people are lost, bounties have a way of climbing ...
I'll fold Karmakaze into the process now. |
