Scrapheap- Good call on that re-searching. I was sitting here wondering, 'will they make it easy on themselves, or hard?' Good job!

Slipshade- I was very careful to reread your posts to see if you searched anywhere else. I also rolled a hidden perception for you to see if you heard anything, but between Twiggy having a very vested interest in remaining hidden and your injury modifiers, it wasn't even close. But it all worked out in the end, right? And don't forget, you still have a meet tonight. :)

Damn this restaurant scene, and damn me for having Virgil order one of my favorite appetizers. Now it's not even 11am here and I already want to go out to my favorite place around town for lunch :( grrrr . . . .

Bandit and Paul- I noticed a time problem here.

Paul you have Blaze showing up at the restaurant at 1900, which is 7pm.

Bandit has Max at a meet at about 2200, which is 10pm.

Paul you state that Max doesn't arrive until 10:15pm (22:15) which is impossible because he's at the meet at Caveman Kate's at that time.

Plus, did you really mean that, since that would mean Blaze arrived THREE HOURS early?

I'm guessing what you meant was that Max arrived at 19:15, which is 7:15, which is plenty of time for him to eat with you and make the meet with Erebus later on.

Let me know if that's ok with you Paul and edit to say he shows up at 19:15 and I'll post a reply. That should make all the storylines flow smoothly.

bandit: You know for a fact she doesn't recognise the other guy. You might keep in mind the rumours you've picked up about the nightclub/gaming house, even if some of them seem contradictory :-]

You might also keep in mind what Doreen just told you.

i don't know that stuff...

Sedna was there anything Alleycat was going to do when she wakes up i should be prepared for?

Slip and Scrap- Post away, I'll be watching and post for when (not if, but when) you start questioning Twiggy. Unless of course, you just want to let him walk out of there without asking him anything, in which case, he just well...leaves. Or am I right in assuming there will be questions for him? :D

That is some good stuff to think about. I will have to go over my notes when I get back home tonight.

Winterrat: It's time for me to leave my desk and get some real bench work done for the day. I'll be available again later in the day.

Heh, i'll be around. Work is very slow these last few days.

I gotta ask after the run of posts the last few days, which of us are in school/not working/on break right now, and which of us are just spending way too much time messing around on the computer at work?

I don't think so. Picking up on any replies and generally picking up on the mood of Shadowland, target practice (needed!), feeling out Tarqa as a possible instructor, and then to meet. There's a message to be delivered somewhere in there, but that's not something you can help me with ;)

And, by way of partial answer, I'm pulling together major time on this right now because I'll be completely off-line Sunday-Tuesday.

WinterRat

Lets see if I can get everything straight:

You are correct, I only looked in Keira's office, since she was my main concern.

You already rolled my Perception, which is fine. Until I get some rest I will not likely pass any tests. :)

Your damn right we are going to ask Twiggy some questions.

And I am spending way to much time messing around on the computer at work.

Does that cover everything. :)

I'm in the process of moving so my "work" is at home for the time being. With that being said, I've barely packed a box all week .. maybe I should get to it. :spin:

Well, maybe one thing that I'd set in motion, but that won't be valid before the message gets delivered. Grail's now actively looking for all things Melissa. He would get that information to Alleycat as he comes across major insight points (but not before she delivers the message).

I have to step away for a few hours, ronin. I'll anticipate one question: you're too late to stop it getting into the vent. I'll answer any other questions as soon as I get back.

Aw drek. How much more can that clinic take? For all the combat that Galina, Bob, and Juliette have had to endure as healthcare providers . . . they should have all just joined the army . . or perhaps Combat Inc. :spin:

You better take care of them ronin :S

Ugh, I gotta say, even if we complete all our objectives and stuff, part of me wants to hunt these guys down and kill them all just for all the trouble they've caused. And btw Ronin, you better have some cool tricks like these up your sleeve! :cyber:

tricks... well we'll see

Sedna - how feasable is this "flying Dragon" idea?

just in case the die roll comes up:

handling check to see how much I can accelerate Talos on the way back to the clinic

Strato-9 handling 3
Rotorcraft 6 + 3 control pool.. might as well.

10 05 05 04 03 03 02 02 01 = 6 successes

accel is 9 so 54m/turn increase (or whatever the max speed is)

Winterrat1 - what do you think of this?

OK we have a serious continuity problem here, and I'm open to suggestions.

At 16:50 Daedalus shoots a major warning to Dragon to get the people out of the clinic.

However, at that point Dragon was merrily dropping off Virgil and going to the drop, unaware of this recent development.

And then, at 17:30 or so, Dragon and Virgil are eating a nice quiet dinner. This probably would not have happened if they knew an enemy drone was inside the clinic.

The only thing I can think of that makes any sense is saying for whatever reason, Daedalus's call just didn't get through to Dragon. Maybe they were jamming him or something, blah blah blah. We don't roll and say that's what happened.

That works and I'm fine with it, but only in so far as nothing actually happens to the clinic or anyone inside. Obviously Dragon couldn't make it across town back to the clinic in time to do anything regarding the drone, but regardless he probably would've headed there to at least pick up the pieces of the mess and not gone to sit in the restaurant.

So Sedna, since you're the GM on this one, how do you want us to resolve this one?

nm i was going to post on the IC thread but should hammer out details here first.

but how feasable is it to have Talos pick up Dragon and fly him to the clinic asap.

problem is, if the drone is inside the clinic, my rotor drones will be able to provide minimal assistance.

timeline problems arise however.. (you already started the conversation at the resturant)
hrm : /

I mean otherwise Talos will just fly back and do whatever he can (maybe Virgil can send a spirit or something?)

Can someone tell me the rules for creating a program? I don't even own any of the Matrix books and I set up a character that has computer skills :wobble:

I would like to create a "simulator" program. Something that would allow me to have multiple people jack into a simulated reality, where I can add detailed floor plans, opposition, etc. That would allow me and any group I was with to do "run throughs" of a prospective run to get a feel for timing and possible trouble etc.

The problems I see are these:

1. Individual abilities. I have no idea how I would quantify and represent each person's individual attributes so that their simulated character would have roughly the same speed, strength, dimensions as their meat body.

2. Magic. No idea how to simulate a magically active character or spell effects in a computer simulation.

3. Jackpoints. This wouldn't work with a bunch of people jacking into a hitcherjack, they'd have to have their own terminal wouldn't they?

I've never worked with a Matrix capable character before so I'm exploring new ground here. I know that a "simulator" program is possible because in "Clockwork Asylum" Ryan Mercury's character kept a Fuchi 8 cyberdeck in his room at his Hells Canyon facility specifically to run simulations on. I'm just trying to figure out how complicated this thought is.

Oh and yes I'm at work so I don't have any of my books to refer to, so these questions might be answered there.

ok, procrastinating just a bit more...

Winterrat - I'd say the radio interference idea sounds good, instead of active jamming maybe just some sort of radio interference? (which would raise questions about the reliability of our communications gear that we can just not ask)

of course this means Daedalus will have to think of something else... doh..

The main problem with the interference thing is I don't know about you, but i have a damn good comm system. It's highly unlikely anything short of specific jamming would shut me down. Mostly I just thought of that as a random thing that makes some sense that would cover the hole, albeit less than ideally, since logically Dragon and Daedalus would investigate the problem, except there really wouldn't be one. Even if they were getting jammed, Dragon has very good encrypt/decrypt comm stuff, so again, unlikely scenario. Let's just wait to see what Sedna thinks and go from there.

And Cedric- I don't know exactly how or even if it's possible, but I can tell you this much: it's going to take some time to get all that together (assuming it's even doable, and assuming you make all the required rolls to do so). Beyond that very broad generalization, I'd recommend asking Grendel.

I realize that wasn't very helpful, but there's my .02 :nuyen: :spin:
