Slip- No stun and 2 boxes of physical damage, IIRC, but i could be wrong and it could just be wrong. Either way, yes, you are correct about getting 8 hours of sleep straight. No more GM nastiness planned. At least not for the next 8 hours. :grinbig:

Everyone else- Bah! What's a little snow here and there? I remember driving home on the highway with visibility about 10 feet and a good 8 or so inches on the ground. They shut down the ENTIRE 90/94 highway in Indiana, from end to end, that's how bad it was. Unfortunately, live in those conditions long enough and you get used to it. :)

It was wacked driving home for Thanksgiving too, every 100 meters or so you'd see cars off the road in ditches cause they skidded right off. Felt like I was in a semi-post-apocalyptic snow covered wasteland.

EDIT: And I just realized, what does it say about us that we've been posting about the WEATHER on the thread?

In my case, it says that I got really sick when I noticed there's warnings out today for lake effect snow. Enough, already! :grinbig:

(For my players, I'll do a twofold karma this weekend.)

For the Combat Inc duo plus one, that takes everyone up to Dragon's current time (~:43). Feel free to fast-forward :) (Next on-line: Friday.)

how far can/should we fast forward? I realize that you might not be able to answer that before move ahead, so we'll do what we plan on doing, and if there's a problem, we'll do what we always do and fix it. :)

Ronin- Write yourself into the dinner and discussion, unless you have something else you'll be posting before arriving. May as well actually have a conversation among the three of us to kill some time instead of just having Dragon and Virgil talk, and then saying, 'and then they fill in Daedalus'. Besides, in the discussion some stuff might come up we didn't think of before or saw differently. Plus, since Sedna's sporadic, it'll give us something to post so she can read something entertaining (we hope) when she gets back.

You might have noticed that the standard storyline links haven't been updated in about a month. That's because I'm transferring the site (I've discovered Mp limits to Geocities, and I did have other files I'm developing there 8) ) and at the same time I'm overhauling the LitS coding.

In the meantime, both of these are stopgap links to the most up-to-date versions currently available that aren't in the thread itself:
Run Index
Storyline Index

I'm behind in these too, but not as badly.

Ugh, that sounded much less stupid in my head. :P Ah well, neither of us--me nor my character--are very good speakers, so I guess it'll have to do.

WinterRat-
Can John see any security personnel, or measures? Anything? I want to drive around the building if possible, though I doubt there is an alley or anything behind it. Noting the number of exits, cars in the lot, etc. You know, case the joint.

Give me a stealth roll, but only if you choose to drive around the building. Basically you're outside the whole 'office park' complex. You can choose to drive around the clinic itself for a closer look if you like (in other words, the road allows it and there's no visible security stopping you) but if you do, give me a stealth roll. Otherwise, you can't see much more than the front entrance through all the trees and other buildings. It isn't a very linear office park, set up to be aesthetically pleasing more than easy to navigate, as most such office parks are.

And in case that wasn't clear, there's no visible security personnel or measures. It's a quiet, peaceful, happy little office park. ;)

All righty, as of right now I'm not sure what my net access is going to look like until the beginning of next week. I'll be on steady after Tuesday, though, and I should be able to check in a few times between now and then.

Be safe, everyone, and I'll do my best to keep you updated.

I know the feeling :)

Looks like not one of my players left me anything yet to do. Should I feel unwanted? ;)

ronin, Daedalus knows that cell number is only a message drop. If you're planning on using it again, don't write in an answer or even no answer: that one has to wait for me.

Heh, that just means I have time to catch up on my reading. :)

(Edit): Oh, and for the record, I don't know about my character, but that little business card has done more to intimidate *me* than any and all of the death threats, dire warnings, or the dead guy with an tungsten-core round taken through his chest through an armored wall. Well okay maybe not that last one, but still  ! :D

Ha hardly! But we've been pushing you quite a bit lately, and we decided amongst ourselves to take some time and just role-play out this discussion, which is what we would do anyway (IC) and would work out well for you (in RL). So everybody wins! And I, for one, owe you some stuff that a slower posting pace will (hopefully!) let me get to.

BTW, don't be afraid to keep pushing Alleycat's storyline forward, I believe both you and Paul have gone to sleep, so you should be able to wake up the next day at a reasonably coordinated time?

Assume for the time being that I'll be handling Digital's character again as per last time, so if you need anything from me, just let me know.

Ugh, sometimes it amazes me how fast this thread can fly. I am behind on so many people's storylines...I don't think I could have kept up even in college when I was slacking like mad, given how fast the pace goes overall. But I guess that means the thread is doing its thing, right? Many people's lives, rowing merrily (or not so merrily) along...

WinterRat1 -

Well, I probably won't be giving you to much until Scrapheap makes it to 8:00pm in his posting...unless I throw in a dream sequence of some sort, but you wouldn't have to reply to that unless you wanted to, so that is one less person to worry about for a bit.

I am leary about jumping ahead to the meet right now, in case I get a call from Scrap before 8:00pm rolls around.

Just as a note on that thought- Even if he did call you for help, you'd still be going in with quite a few injury mods, and seeing as how Max isn't exactly built for long, sustained combats while shrugging off injury, it isn't a bad thing to go right to the meet.

Since he'll be calling you after the meet anyway, unless Scrapheap wants to do something between checking the place out and the later meeting with you (and especially if he does!) you probably want to keep the pace moving forward.

It's up to you, though I recommend discussing with Scrapheap. That would help keep us all on approximately the same pace and remove the 'one player on, one player off' thing. Still, however you two want to work it is fine with me.

Well, from our conversation Scrap seems to want to avoid doing anything until after my meet, so I will move on to that and hope he doesn't get himself into to much trouble, though I am guessing he is much better prepared for it than Max is. :)

Well, yes and no; oddly enough more no than yes. And no: I can't explain that :spin: What that translates to is, do take the time for your IC discussion, but by all means do keep pushing the pace to your limits, not mine. After all the extended blow-by-blow and the million nanosecond Matrix meet, I'd like to see the three of you get to next afternoon sometime reasonably soon!

Reading everyone's, I'm just barely keeping abreast of; but webbing isn't going to happen again before Monday. So those storylines aren't going to get much more up-to-date over the next two weeks.

I do have plans for Alleycat, but most of the intended writing is going to take more than a few minutes at a time. I don't know if I will be able to get to it before Sunday/Monday.

General fyi: after today, I'm not on-line again before Friday.

paul: whatever you write, I'll coordinate to it on Friday/Saturday. I think I'm a few hours ahead of you still (even after time reconciliation you'd still be at 20:20:29), but I can easily fill them (or not) as needed.

WinterRat: it's possible the Melissa thought might require some feedback from you. Basically, it's just hit Alleycat that maybe someone in the area might have seen something, so she'll go to that building and area after she finishes her session with Tarq and basically start looking for squatters and asking questions. (Longcoat + ultravest. Predator (shoulder holster) + taser in pocket.) Write it up if you feel it appropriate.

Anticipatory rolls (probably at TN +1 or +2, after the Tarq session):

Perception (to spot locals in the area who might have a vested interest in remaining hidden): 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1
Yikes. Maybe she does end up with a black eye. Karma reroll: 8, 8, 4, 3, 3, 2, 1, 1 (better)

Etiquette: 3, 2, 2
I'm part-defaulting off CH for the Leadership roll: 7, 5, 4, 4, 3, 1, 1, 1
Karma reroll: 10, 5, 5, 5, 3, 3, 3, 2 (that leaves one karma pool point until it refreshes at dawn)
Full-default off CH for Interrogation: 17, 13, 7, 5, 3, 2, 1, 1 :grinbig:
And of course the Psychology secondary skill: 10, 10, 9, 5, 2, 2, 2

All of which doesn't help one bit if there's no one around.
