Sorry, peoples: date-time in my posts should have read Sunday, not Saturday. Fixed it in the last two, and completely in the webbing.

Oh, and if anyone hasn't received their invitation to our Yahoo group, it means we've got an ancient e-mail address for you that you no longer use. Just drop me a line at litsproject@yahoo.com, and I'll send you the invite.

Sedna- I'd like to avoid continuing the conversation over Dumpshock PMs, since I think it'd make it harder for you to code later on (?) as well as depriving everyone of the entertainment who wants to read it.

Is there/could we set up a section of Shadowland that has private chat rooms, where people can read OOC but couldn't act on that knowledge IC since it would be a 'closed' area to their characters, who thus couldn't know what happened in that room (unless they hacked SL, of course).

Nomination: Infringing on a trademark for a moment, "The Blimp of DOOM!"

Reason: Observe the following sequence:
*reads post, blinks*

to self: that can't be right, let's reread that.

*reads post again, squints*

out loud: is that a missile she just said was coming at us? can't be...

*reads post yet again, jaw drops*

out loud, but louder: are you kidding me? she shot a fragging MISSILE AT US!?!??!?!

*reads post a fourth time, slumps back in chair*

muttering: I don't believe this, what the heck is going on

*something in post catches eye, jumps out of chair and screams*

yelling: a BLIMP!?!!??!?! SHE'S SHOOTING MISSILES AT US FROM A FRAGGING BLIMP!?!?!!?!?!?! GARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Suffice to say, no other post thus far has evoked that reaction in me. :)

Nomination: Alleycat's astral quest

Reason: Tremendous role-playing, got extremely deep into Alleycat's psyche and saw tons of character development. I couldn't stop laughing once the Easter Bunny entered the quest, and I really cracked up when Alleycat almost sliced the Easter Bunny. I remember thinking, 'it's the Easter Bunny! You can't hate on the fraggin Easter Bunny for crying out loud!' Just cracked me up.

1 more...

Nomination: Cosmo and Caska's date at the old movie theatre. It was just an extremely well done sequence, and Morgannah, I have to say, many people play 'face' type characters or characters who are seducers/charmers, but rarely have I seen it done so well. Absolutely sell me each and I every time I read about Cosmo that she's one seductively dangerous girl.

Yet.

In case anyone (ronin :D) is curious

Good point about the private chatrooms, WinterRat ... let me just get my brain de-fried enough to figure it out. (Just walked ~ 7 miles in 100+ heat.)

Yeah, I have to nominate the Blimp of Doom as well. That just seemed like a particularly vicious and early escalation of the rules of engagement. I just wish I'd gotten there first.

We'll just consider the Blimp of Doom well and truly nominated then, and apparently the campaigning opened :wavey:

Unfortunately, it's that 'yet' part that really worries me. :S

And by the way, who came up with the term 'Blimp of Doom' first? Was that you, bclements?

I have used the "Blimp of Near Certain Death", but that doesn't roll of the tongue as well as "Blimp of DOOM". The whole scene is great, but that one prop is so over the top that the scene get's defined by it.

grendel: any other cars in the parking spaces adjactent to where Tony's car is parked? Any blimps floating around that I need to know about? :rotfl:

Yes, for tactical purposes assume that all parking spots are filled. I didn't include that on the map to avoid confusion.

I'll second the movie theatre scene ... although for me it was more about nuance and layers of meaning. Not only was that just about the best depiction of what street samurai with the code actually means (with his Zen complemented and contrasted against Cosmo's Tao, yet!), but I've rarely seen negative space used so well :)

grendel, the programme you used to create that floorplan: is it free/shareware? Could you link me? I'd been looking for something like that for a while.

Sorry, I just found the graphic online and photoshopped in the participants. I'm pretty inept at graphics so I just tend to shoplift what I need from other places.

Absence notice: Cedric gone from July 22-31.

Just so everyone catches it I'm going to be gone from July 22nd until July 31st. I am taking the first vacation I've had with my family is almost six years for that week and I promised my wife I wouldn't bring anything that will allow me to do any kind of work for the week. I'm even going to have to turn over my cell phone when we go to leave.

Do I post to the meet with Durin, then stop; then post to the meet with our allies/Blaze/Tin Star?

You can actually post to through the meet with Durin and then go straight on to the meet with allies/Blaze/Tin Star, unless you want to ask him something or do something other than just meet him, check out the stuff, and finish the deal.

So post the meet with Durin, and then OOC let me know if you need anything from me. If not, then just proceed to the meet.

Slipshade- The financials are a bit too much for you. The place looks to be doing fine, enough donations, nothing shady looking, but you don't know enough to read between the lines and tell if there's something really shady that's being hidden, or if it is simply that complicated as a matter of course. The place does seem to get a lot of contributions though, and seems to be a solidly funded research facility.

Contributors- You recognize a lot of the charities on there. They cover the width and breath of the charitable scope, but one that catches your eye is the Humanis Policlub. It's not the only racially oriented group on there. OrkFirst! is there, well as Mothers of Metahumans. But this, after all the Humanis Policlub to you...

Let me know if you want more detail. I know we're doing a bit of Q&A, but typing everything would take forever, not to mention be a bit superfluous. In the absence of specific queries, I'm highlighting the things I think you would find interesting.

I will move onto the personnel then. I want to know who is in charge and what type of specialist are employed. It may give me a clue as to what is really going on.

Here's where it gets interesting. Only files you have are the drones. Secretaries, nurses, minor workers. None of the higher ups are in the system, they're all in a different system

'for the purpose of consolidating all relevant executive personnel files in a central and easily accessible location for greater facilitation of smooth communication'

So you have nothing on anyone major, just the low level workers. No researchers, no decision makers, nothing of that stripe. But it's so they can keep everything in one place, so it's easier to find. It says so right in the file.

Of course it does.

Looks like I need that location from Scrap so I can take a peak astrally, before I move on to other things. I have a few contacts that I could use, but waking a number of them up in the middle of the night would be a very bad idea. :)

you don't believe their good intentions?

And then it's back to you and Scrap.

Scrap- Roll intelligence (or a geographical knowledge skill) to determine how well you can describe it to Max.
