Temporary Absence: I will be offline from 0600 PDT Wednesday 17 August to 0800 PDT Monday 22 August. I may spring for the money necessary to get on the Indy Convention Center's wireless network, but don't get your hopes up. GenCon promises to keep me very busy. If any of the LitSers are going, I'll be running SR games for FanPro including the tournament.

GENERAL QUESTION:
Has any player character died yet on Lits? When that does happen when(its inevitable when the GMs are using Blimps of Doom) a character is killed? Can the player create a new character and start again? Do they have to wait a certain time before resumbitting? I'm wondering about a few other issues, if a character opts for cybersurgery which will put him out of action for say a month or two what happens? At the speed which we're advancing the threads not playing for a month or two in Lits time would probably equate to like not posting for a year in real time, so what happens? Same with being arrested, if you're arrested by Lone Star you're out of circulation for at least six months of Lits time, so what happens then? As I'm watching the threads I keep wondering about that? What would happen if Tony or Marquis had been picked up by Sea-Tac security while they were unconscious for half an hour? Are the character's considered dead or do they have to try and escape or what? I was just curious. |

Fortunately we did cover that in the Guidelines. Check out the section "Character Death".
As to time out: well, there's others who've already opted for long-term projects. There's no fast-forwarding: time's a constant trade-off against toys. As to arrest: I'd say it's up to you. Do you hang onto the character and bite the bullet re time; or do you abandon that PC to NPC-hood, and create a new one? Only if you abandon, the karma rule probably won't be as generous ... (That last is my opinion only: it's been brought up in the GM e-mail discussions, but hasn't yet been finalised.) |

I was actually re-rolling another character just in case Tony woke up missing some kidneys.
grendel: oh yeah, forgot: suck it up and post :) Just to get stuff on track, is Marq's and Tony's stuff still there (car, guns, etc)? |

Scrap,
He may be waiting on me. I will post something today. Sorry for the delay. I figure we may have to split up for a bit today as I try to make some calls to my contacts. We should probably figure out whether or not we are both going to check out Mr. and Mrs. Wong at the address Iris found. WR1 - Did I get rid of any stun damage? I had 5 boxes before I went to sleep. Slip/WR1- At the end of the last post John says that they should check out the address, but that he'd like Iris to look into the name and address to see what she can dig up. That is, if she's willing. Sorry if that was unclear. And yes, at least later in the day we will have to split up. John has a meet at noon, and I think Max has one at some point? -S |

Max doesn't have anything set up yet, though he is supposed to leave on a job Wednesday morning. Though the way things are going, he may not make it. He just needs to call a large number of people, but he can do that on the way to check out the Wongs or when he stops off on the way home to pick up a change of clothes and check messages. I am thinking he is going to call a cab as they do still service Touristville. It will give him an alibi if anyone comes looking. He can say he was at The Respite all night helping with repairs. Taking a cab from the Respite will give some validity to the story.

Scrap/Slip - Busy day at work, I'll post when I get home. Thanks for letting me know, because I was waiting on Slip, so it's good we got this cleared up. And Slip, all your stun damage is gone.

Bclements: give me biotech rolls if you're trying to patch yourself or Marquis up. Remember, stun damage can't be healed via first aid, only rest, so the best you can do is get rid of Marquis' light wound.

Sure (Tony doesn't know he's only light injured and knocked out, just checking him out).
Rating on the medkit: 3 (if the medkit can do it for me, here's some rolls: 1, 1, 1). I think it diagnoses him as SURGED with that roll. Defaulting (Intel?) if I can't use the Medkit: 4, 2, 1, 2, 4 |

. o O (Marq! Hey, wake up! Does this hurt? *poke*poke*)
So with no successes on your default roll and a botch on the medkit's complementary dice, it looks like you're going to end up doing more harm than good. Probably best to leave well enough alone. |

That was fairly amazing, that was.
Sunday karma: bandit: 1 [August 8-14] = 1 ronin: 1 [August 8-14] = 1 WinterRat: 1 (+1 GM bonus) [August 8-14] = 2 Been a day of stalled and collapsing computers ... something must be going around ... |

You know, I've never seen a total botch of all 1s before. Not ever. In...12 years of playing this game that's my first time seeing it. I almost feel like Grendel should have made Tony say just that: Marq! Hey, wake up! Does this hurt? *poke*poke*
I was cracking up at that Grendel. Modern technology, meet prehistoric medicine 101. |

It's actually something of a standing joke in my tabletop game. The mage is often times faced with 10s and 11s to heal the street sams after a particularly vicious night. With no successes on the roll, it's "hey, tell me if this hurts *poke*poke*".

WR1-
I was wainting on either your or Slip, but I mainly just wanted Iris to see if running those names through public records turned up anything. Plus directions to the address. I also asked at the end of the post what the group thought of calling the number. -S |
