Amazingly enough, you have heard of him. He's a rising star in the Yakuza. Last you heard, he was just a leader of a small crew under a lieutenant, but he's been making some noises lately and it's possible he might be moving up soon.
There are no tattoos on this goon anywhere on his upper body. |

Slipshade, understood, very much so. E-mail or PM me if you find you need a sounding board.
I'm also getting slowly back on track again. Sorry for delays for those affected. As noted on the group calendar, the mostly no on-line access days for me have shifted to Saturday/Sunday: hence regular karma begins again this Monday. (Another reason -- besides life -- that I've been falling behind is that with the return of the school year seems to have come a huge faculty/resident/student/staff rush for the three available on-line computers ... and I no longer have my nice, quiet Sundays to try to catch things up while everyone is away.) Good to have you back, Moirdryd! and Eyes :) See you on the flip side of your trial, Cedric. And welcome to the new player :grinbig: (I'm still reading btw. I've webbed in sheer self defence!) |

Scrap- Going to let you finish your discussion with Rosa before continuing. Sedna will be playing Rosa, so you're going to be working with her. Obviously the goon won't be answering anything while you're outside the room, so until you get back in there, you and Sedna are free to post.
Also, my stupid freaking cat knocked my computer tower over and now my computer at home is not functioning. I have a friend coming to look at it this weekend, and in a worse case scenario, he should be able to have it fully functioning again by Monday night. However, anything could happen. My internet access could be sporadic until I can get that resolved. Just letting you all know. |

Heh, though now I've got to find suitable distractions to keep him in Friday and Saturday, as well as a good excuse fyr why he didn't meet with y'all on his rather not-busy Thursday. :) "I could try to get us a meet with a someone earlier in the week, but they might not be as good." No pressure there, no sir. :D And holy geez grendel; I think all of my posts put together would fit inside that gigantic intro. Impressive! |

Dude...did you guys ever read Sedna's early introduction? Between her and Grendel alone...yeesh.
Wait Eyes, are you extremely free on Thursday? I put it to Friday so you aren't frozen in place while I try to catch everyone up. At least this way you could advance to sometime on Friday while everyone's being moved along. As for the 'no pressure' part, well, now all you have to do is live up to your hype. ;) |

Sedna- Need a little help translating your city speak (which is good city speak, btw!)
I understand you're telling Tin Star to set up the meet with the "good" decker on Friday. I do not understand what you want him to do with 'the early guy', or who you're referring to. Are you referring to the guys from the meet for Tuesday, the rigger and street samurai? And if so, what data exactly are you having them look for? Mostly this sentence is throwing me:
A little help please? :) |

Mostly it's throwing you because she's also talking so as not to convey all the information to Grifter ;) So she's also referencing discussions during their earlier meets, without being specific: and what's in the brackets indicate the direction of some of those earlier discussions. Because she -- as that mix of Alleycat and Sedna/Anne -- is trying to bring across condensed information about a future operation, it's also a variant of cityspeak that's flirting with milspeak.
Translation: "We're data-short" You remember we never got the data we were looking for from our previous decker, that we'd specified during the earlier meets? (Things such as everything we could find out about Alexander and his sister? and all the other stuff we talked about [back in the Salvation thread, beyond what Alleycat had been able to pull up]? Surely someone must have dealt with Mr Fan before: does he have a rep?) "sic the early guy on it" You mentioned two possibilities, maybe you could try to get a lead on someone less reliable earlier in the week ("the early guy"), with the more likely person available Friday or Saturday ("Man Friday"). (Like I'd said during the meets, we need as much data as possible asap.) If you do manage to get someone earlier on, set them on the data trail. "one-off only." But that's the only job we'll give them, since you'd just said anyone you could get earlier on would probably be less reliable. We just want the information from that one, nothing else. "That one's all yours." You know the scene better than I do. If you think you can get someone earlier to do the info searches, go for it, negotiate it directly, don't need to clear it through me. And from there it goes to the meet set-up, as you'd already caught. |

Heh, I remember that too, and some of the stuff between grendel and Morgannah a few months back. As for Thursday, I... sorta already pissed it away, actually. There was the meet with Tony in the evening, and not much else going on that day. IC he was sorta taking the day off after being "on" all week; OOC I was playing catch-up with bclements. So at this moment he is falling asleep early Friday morning (1 AM or so), and I've kinda been delaying there for IC and OOC reasons. Hmm... you know, if we were retconning this in though, if Eyes had been contacted on, say Monday or Tuesday, when he was in the middle of that rushed detailed search job--the first and only time I project he'll ever be able to make one--he'd have tried to schedule a meet for Friday or Saturday *then*, as he'd have figured this deal with Casimir would be long over by the end of the week. Think that would work? |

Eyes- Yeah, that would work. I also left myself some leeway because I wasn't sure how fast you'd be moving, so I didn't want to schedule something that doesn't jell with your character's timetable. You want to post something, maybe a 'flashback' style post, of getting a call and the meet set up for Friday/Saturday?
I can give you the information and you can post Eyes 'reflecting' on it, maybe even do a little digging if you want. This will also give you something to post on for a while to keep you occupied while the others catch up without freezing you. If that sounds all right to you, we'll talk to Grendel and work out the details. Sedna- Great job playing Rosa. In three posts, you've already done a much better job bringing her to life than I was. Now I'm curious to see how this relationship dynamic plays itself out. :) |

Slip- Go ahead and write some flavor post if you want, but do NOT write past 15:00:00. If you don’t have anything you plan on writing, let me know and I’ll bump you to 15:00:00 and write the post that occurs then.
Sedna, Scrap- Think that post for Sedna catches me up with the two of you for the time being, let me know if there’s anything you need. Eyes- Email to Grendel will be en route later this afternoon, once he responds to me, I’ll take you over/send you info/work with you as he and I work out. |

Grendel, wow! Dude, I love the intro, the writing is outstanding. It feels very much like much of the Shadowrun novels. I can't wait to see your next post.

Slip- Post is up, you're up.
As far as SR 4, we are in the process of finalizing our conversion procedures, I just sent out an email to the GM staff a couple days ago with the draft versions of the conversion procedure. I'd hold off serious conversion right now, in the next few days the announcement and procedures should be up, so may as well save yourself some work for now at least. Sedna- I felt that was what she'd say, it was the best I could think of. :D Eyes- I talked to Grendel and we worked out the details. I'll be taking over as your GM for the time being. I'll post something later today when I get a chance for James. |

Wait on the conversion, not the post! :) And yeah, ever since SR 4 was released at GenCon, we've been working on it. Took us about this long too, so it's a good thing we didn't delay.

WR1 - I understood. I will have the post up a little later. I will likely write it during my lunch hour. I did notice that they added SINner as a flaw, so I will be adding that to Max's character. :)
Sedna - You had Rosie tell Scrap that Max wouldn't need a shaman specifically for the ritual he is planning, but from what I understand even a spotter has to be of the same tradition as the other members of the ritual in order for it to work. Did I miss something? |
