Scrap- I totally hear you man. I was feeling like Dumpshock was dragging this week, and I was like, ‘where is everyone? What are they doing?’ Then I went back through the threads while I was awarding karma and checking the other GMs karma awards to update the log, and realized we went through a truly insane number of posts last week. So you aren’t the only one who got spoiled! :)
Ha, if that’s an accurate representation of you, we might need to have Morgannah give you some lessons! ;) Morgannah, would you and Cosmo be so kind as to give Eyes and, well, Eyes some tips for dealing with the female gender? :) |

Would that be a kindness, I wonder? ;) Consdering Cosmo is a full week behind Eyes when it comes to gametime I'm not quite sure how useful her advice will be by the time she catches up. (Especially since I have NO clue how to write the Matrix, bleh, so I'm quite stuck.) I am interested, however, in seeing how Cos and Angela take to one another, if the time ever comes.... I'm more than willing to answer any OOC questions you might have, though. :grinbig: |

Yeah, starting a week ahead's been tough on Eyes and Tony. I mean right now I'm looking at trying to make a meet where I have to wait for Alleycat et al. to cover five days to my one. At the same time I've got to catch up with Tony, who's half a day ahead of Eyes, not to mention I had to rush this meet with Carla and Angela a little bit so I don't have to retcon running into Tony when he visits the same resturant in like three minutes game time, but nearly three weeks ago OOC time. Ain't continuity a kick in the teeth? :D As for the Matrix it's really not that hard, because it's so freeform. Just choose a metaphor and write; translating your in-game actions into Matrix actions of grendel's job. :) I wouldn't worry about that much anyway; for all my character's emphasis on Matrix work I've only written two significant (more than one post) scenes from inside the machine, and only one of those was actually on the Matrix itself (the conversation with Oracle.) Angela doesn't seem like a computer whiz anyway. :)
Me? If I knew what questions to ask I'd probably be able to answer them myself. :P Like Eyes, my main problems revolve around 1) recognizing the female's interest, and 2) where to go from there. Unfortunately dating is an Intuition-linked skill, so naturally no matter what either of us do we're gonna suck at it. :) |

Well you know what they say, if your attribute is low, just raise your skill!
So in the interests of training Eyes, how about a little help Morgannah? Actually, come to think of it, this could be a fun OOC discussion topic on an otherwise slow week. So, to all LITSers, 2 questions: 1. How does someone know when a female is interested in them? 2. What does one do from there? (All answers accepted in the hopes of generating much entertainment, and maybe even a little useful advice as well. Plus I admit, I'm just curious to see what everyone will say :)) EDIT: I want to note that those questions weren't just to keep screwing with Eyes, nor specific to him because of our running jokes. It has officially transferred to become a 'let's toss a few random questions out there and see what everyone says just because it's fun' type of question(s). |

Sorry -- posting now.
Point taken ... but oddly enough this time I can't just flash-forward it like that exhausting post ;) because I have to wait for at least two specific and interactive IC events to take place first. After that though: I promise I'll fly through the days in at least equally exhausting fashion :grinbig: |

So that gets you clear, Scrapheap -- and thereafter it's between Slipshade and myself, at probably about the same amount of background work, this week. If you're curious, the music that's been uploaded into the chipplayer is a flute and percussion album.

Oh, please don't take that as criticism; it wasn't meant to be. I'm just finding it amusing how time is pulling Eyes in two directions at once. :) |

Hehehe, I've never had to compose and OOC reply in notepad before. :) I KNEW that waking up so late was a bad idea.... My biggest concern with the Matrix is that I might end up taking too much liberty with it. Cosmo isn't using her own deck this time, so my real question is whether it's the user or the system that is largely responsible for Matrix imagery. Does that make sense? Regarding continuity, lol, I can relate. Let's just say that it'll be really nice when everybody catches up. It'll happen .. eventually. ;) Sedna is setting the standard for 'flash-forward' posts (:notworthy:) and something leads me to believe that there will be a few more in the LiTS family's future.
Right. Who says we're all going to meet up in the Matrix, though?
Too true. :) I don't pretend to know a lot about dating/courting/etc. (that's Cos' department, not mine), but let's see ..
If the girl is really interested then it's in her best interest to let it be known, otherwise she's not that interested, right? Obvious (dragging her Chosen into a dark corner by his lapels) or subtle (a 'come-hither' smile), you'll get some sort of indication, one way or another. Don't worry if you don't catch it right away, women are patient predators, if nothing else.
*wicked laugh* There, that should do it for now. :) |

Nothing says 'I love you' like a restraining order :D
The continunity thing (regarding Eyes and Tony) is actually my fault; now Tony's parked in a coffee shop half expecing a single cyber-ninja to bust in. I'm both wanting Eyes to show up soon, and to take his time 'cause it's a lot more interesting than anything I've got on tap (and I've got NPC's to catalogue as well). On meeting women: Buddy, I'm divorced (for the good, thankfully). You don't want any advice I can give you. :rotfl: |

Don't even get me started about continuity difficulties. Argh! Sigh, the joys of being able to fast forward though. It's like life. Some days not a whole lot happens, other days, you wouldn't believe the amount of stuff that can happen in a 24 hour period (Exhibit A: See Dragon & Virgil).
Ah ha, but then what about the time-honored (for women at least) tradition of playing hard to get? How do you know when she says she doesn't want you but really does versus when she really doesn't want you? Short of her busting out the always helpful aforementioned restraining order, of course. :) Cause you know, some girls just like the whole being pursued thing. They want the guy to get them, just not right away. They want to make him work for it first. Thoughts?
On the contrary, give whatever advice you can, and then we'll all know what not to do. :P EDIT: BC, here's hoping you weren't on the wrong end of that receiving order...;) |

Plenty of thoughts, yes, but it all boils down to:
the difference between "hard to get" and "leave me alone" usually lies in the setup. If a girl is interested she'll indicate it in some way (as mentioned earlier) and then leave the ball in your court. It isn't just 'some girls' that enjoy being chased and sought after once the proper signals have been sent, but damned near all of us. So in essence, wait for the green light and then GO GO GO .. until she changes her mind and throws a stop sign at you (women's perogative, and all that). |

Hehe, no. Best money I've ever spent, though.
Comfort and confindence in oneself is probably the best advice I can give. Learning to speak intellgently on a variety of topics is always a plus, as is learning to complement someone in a sultry language (Morgannah, tus ojos es muy bonito.). It never hurts. Avoid making decisions while intoxicated with anything, mentally or physically. That doesn't lead to a good ending. |

Ooh! I've got another good question. How does one differentiate between 'genuine interest' and merely 'being friendly'? |

 And still, people question why every Face character must know Spanish, French, and/or Italian.. (Venez plus étroitement et je vous dirai tout que vous voulez connaître..) Excellent advice, especially that bit about making decisions while under the influence of anything that might cloud your reason. Knowing what to do IS intuitive (as Eyes mentioned in an earlier post) so try to keep that in mind. We won't have data filters for some time yet and I doubt a current incarnation of laes is widely available. ;) |

In vino veritas, but I always forget it in the morning ;) And yeah, it is about intuition; like knowing that that beautiful redhead you're going out with later on in the evening has a boyfriend as wide as he is tall. :D |

Karma awards for my players
*Wow, how did four weeks of this get away from me . . . Cedric: 4 (Oct 24th - Nov 20th) Also, I have seen your notes on your SR4 conversion. A week or so back I discussed some potential solutions to your issues with the other GM's, I was merely waiting until I felt as comfortable with the new rules as possible before putting my foot in my mouth. I'll be getting to your questions soon. |
