The system attempts to discern patterns of activity which indicate something out of the ordinary is going on: odd shadows moving, figures whose faces are obscured, weapons, gunfire, things of that nature. The easiest way to defeat the system is to look like you belong in the area. Some of the more sensitive pattern recognition even attempt to match the faces on the surveillance cameras with employee database photos, but you don't think that's the case with this system.

Hey Everyone,
Just a brief announcement, tax season is obviously over, and I'm working on getting the tattered shards of my life back together. I will be catching up with posts ASAP over the next few days. I have to deal with various other matters that have been on hold during tax season that probably shouldn't have been that need to take priority, but by Sunday I should be totally up to speed, and making progress on various dumpshock related issues as well! :) So just as a checklist, I owe posts for the following people: Scrapheap Sedna (via Dragon). Karma awards for my players Slipshade did you respond yet? I don't think I saw you in response to my latest post, correct me if I'm wrong. Salvation players, is there anything you need from me that I missed? Just checking, thanks everyone for your patience, and I'll get up and running ASAP, finally! |

I was hoping that was it! :spin: But when are we going to see Eyes ("Blondie"?) posting again in SL?
(I'll let the Other Thread ride until Sunday, just in case anyone comes up with anything additional or seriously innovative: and then since you're pretty much there, I'll do that final summary. I don't think I've said this openly yet, but that Other Thread does lie in the backstory of this world (date tba, but a few years before the "present time"; just in case anyone wants to make contacts in common or otherwise know of that run ...? :grinbig: ) |

Hey that's a good point; I have been forgetting to have Eyes posting up articles (and good guess, btw! though I guess it wasn't as hard a guess as I thought/was hoping. :grinbig:) It's tough thinking up ideas for random articles that would be of interest to him. Where do you come up with your ideas? I'm pretty sure that last one was from one of those random essay generators, but what about the others?
Ooh, I could take Solitaire as a contact? Hey Grendel, I know I promised not to ask about changing my charsheet again... :D |

That one was somewhere between a light edit of some existing material and a cold write (I've never used an essay generator) -- and the idea for that particular one actually wasn't mine :vegm: [/teamwork] If you're serious about Solitaire, I'll let you and grendel sort that one out. After all, The_Eyes, you know as much about her as I do :D Was going to add this into the other post yesterday as another piece of backstory but then Dumpshock died on me: as long as I'm dating things, I may as well revise-date the old Warehouse Run to start on Monday, December 18, 2062. That better matches Dragon's active storyline (the carry-over character). |

Stealth test to sneak across the parking lot:
2.3.4.8.13. (8 if task pool from the cerebral booster applies to Stealth tests) Perception test to scan the parking lot: 1.2.3.5.5.5.5.11. I've edited my double post from this morning to reflect a stepup in the timeline. :) |

Indeed. Those two are insane, in the best way possible. Makes my inability to follow straight lines seem even more stupid by comparison. :P
(Oh, and the Cerebral Booster's task pool applies to all INT-linked skills, rather like the Encephalon's. I so wish I had gotten one for my char; so many things I wish I had gotten for my char. :P) |

I'm so feeling like I'm in an episode of True Lies :notworthy:
I had reason to check up on surgery times recently -- with a reasonable BD roll an encephalon is not beyond the realms of the reasonable, even LitS time-wise. But there will -- and should! -- always be more things we want for our PCs :D |

Yeah, but who has the time? I've got to be programming pretty much non-stop to even stay a mediocre decker as compared to the Otaku, who can raise his skill-based channels even more quickly than normal. And that assumes I can find a good team of people to program with, and somehow avoid the Bug rules... ugh. No, I don't think I'll ever have time for 'ware again. I'll be happy if I ever get around to buying a decent MPCP so I'm not forced to take that awful, awful double time on search tests.
Besides, I've got a good game of subjective chess going at the moment. :D |

*bows* Thank you, thank you. :) I live to entertain, you know. ;) It's even better when I get to have fun too.
Thanks for the heads-up on the task pool, Eyes, I wasn't sure since the wording in M&M isn't exactly clear. As for more ware, though, I'm absolutely chomping at the bit to get pheremones for Cosmo; she could be recovering for a month, game time, and I'd still consider it a fair trade. :D No one ever said that there was anything wrong with being a little insane. :grinbig: |

Remember, recovering does not equal bed-ridden. Sure there's a lot of things you can't do, but that's when we can explore the more interesting elements of your character. Elements that aren't linked to running around blowing things up or risking one's neck on a daily basis. :)
