Let's see some stats, people. I've managed to do Legolas and Nick Kang as physads. I'll throw their stats up when I get back home. I think you'll like them.

Hmm... That sounds interesting...
What particular use would an archer be in SR? (asks the person who made a sword-swinging, hyper-fast physad just to see if it worked) |

I was just playing some Worms World Party, and thought that I'd really like to have a squad of the little fellas be an SR team. Thus:
Worm Skills: SMGs (Uzi) Pistols (Cruddy Revolver) Shotguns Heavy Weapons Launch Weapons(Sheep) Projectile Weapons(Longbow) Kung-fu (maneuvers—fire punch, dragon ball, kamikaze) Thrown Weapons(Non-Aerodynamic…. Like bananas) Athletics(Baseball) Athletics(Bungee-jumping) Parachuting VTAs (personal jet pack) Electronics (teleporters) Performance (victory themes) Adept Powers: Great leap Improved Athletics (Geas: must be using ninja rope) Rooting (sometimes it’s just hard to knock those wormies over…) Pain tolerance (1 unit of life left and they’re still truckin’) Serious Allergy (Radiation) Languages: As the player sees fit (although Japanese, French, and Scottish are the most amusing) |

This board is assuming that the character in question is meant to be a PC. Legolas would have Projectile Weapons/Pull bow 5/7 |

Thats exactly what I was thinking. The problem with making Preston is that:
A. You make him by the book and end up disappointed because he is just another dipshit with two pistols. B. You give him stats that accurately reflect is "real" abilities and then you end disappointed because now he just rolls through all opposition with little to no effort. He is definately cool in the movie but I have yet to see any SR incarnation of him that didnt leave a bad taste in my mouth. Thats not to say that I have never tried... |

I play an archer in one of the online games. My attacks are 12m dmg, resolved against impact armor, not ballistic. so they are higher power than a rifle, lower damage code, but also much harder to stage down. |

I did that once several years ago just to see if I can break the system.... really not that hard.... Troll phys ad with the improved projectile weapons ability... Coupled that with his high strength and that Ranger-X bow and dikoted arrowheads.... High power, lots of die rolls and silent.... It was ugly.... :( Though, he was made fun of, because he also ran around with a slingshot.... Yeah, troll strength slingshot is still nothing to really laugh at.... just weird and legal. :| |

OK, how about El Mariachi? Pistols, shotguns, pain resistance. He won't end up too nasty.

what about Ash from the Evil Dead series.
High body, intelligent but... (dang, where's the wisdom category?) unarmed combat, shotguns, chemistry, Car B/R cybered combat (chainsaw specialization) knowledge skill: S Mart inventory (Sporting Goods specialization) compulsion: making one-liners is there a flaw of constantly forgetting the words? The opposite of photographic memory? :grinbig: |

The Prince of Persia, from any of the three games (we do not admit the existence of Prince of Persia 3D).
First two: insane Athletics, good Edged Weapons, good Quickness and soforth. PoP: Sands of Time: Above plus Ambidexterity 6 (or a few levels of off-hand Edged Weapons) and PhysAd powers. ~J |

Gordon Freeman (Uncybered mundane.)
Yoda (Dwarf SURGE physmage. On munchkin crack. Lots of it.) Cloud Strife (Physmage or physad, with a geas involving small shiny crystal orbs.) Barret Wallace (Street sam.) Tifa Lockheart (Physad.) Aeris Gainsborough (Dove Shaman. What'd you expect?) And would post some Red Faction II ideas, but I lazy. |

Hell, I'll do one if I find the time...I think it would be an odd mishmash of academic skills, physical skills, combat skills, and a high INT.
I mean, come ON. For a random scientist, he absolutely kicked HOOP. |
