Dude, you just opened up the floodgates. :P Do any of our people have leadership skills? By that I don't mean someone just droped a few BPs into Leadership and called it a day. Or are we all "An army of one"? I don't want the team leader (is that from McDonalds? :grinbig:) job, nor is my char particularly suited to the task but each fireteam should have "field agent in command" or some such. Since it appears we're going to have multiple operators, there should be some form of chain of command. Just a thought. :) |

How much Leadership skill is required to be a team leader? Is 6 "a few BP"? I've never played in a group with that skill, so I dunno what the standard is.

I was unclear before. The Leadership skill IMO is for dealing with NPCs. What I was talking about is the OOC experience. IC-wise, Leadership 2 (or none at all) would be okay in my book.
Normally I don't care but in this case, we're not just a bunch of chromed up killers (right?). There should be someone with a plan. I like to play the "Lone Wolf" (ie. Charlie Sheen's character from NAVY SEALS, Billy the Kid in Young Guns, etc.) character as much as the next guy but it doesn't work so well if everyone is doing the same dance. We can muddle through if we have to but I was just curious. |

Yeah, I was hoping we're not gonna be lone wolves. From all the info given, we're all professionals who have had experience working in units. And all the spec forces guys (except sniper/scouts) work in teams. Team players is probably a must. My guy is gonna have background from SWAT so he's all about working in a team. And no, I plan on being more support as a gunner/medic in whatever team I'm in.

Wildcard may or may not have experience being a leader, or experience being in groups... but if you want a skill 6 leader, he can do that! I'm thinking a chip for Small Unit Tactics, and another for military leadership. Hmm... I wonder if a battle tac system adds to your SUT skill if that skill is chipped?

Pretty much exactly what I figured. My (tentative) character is an Orc street sam. A pro who aspires to eventually work for a corp regularly, and at least semi-officialy. I'd say he's a team-leader type, but is just as comfortable following, or fullfilling a grunt, scout, or heavy weapon position. |

The two or three fireteams need to elect one person to lead them and give plans both in and out of character. We'll get more to fireteam makeup when we start the game.

I'm shifting character focus. Got an ex-spec ops team leader I can flesh out, leave the boom boom to someone else.

I don't have much to add yet, but I only have 3 character sheets so far. Is it the norm around here to bombard the poor GM with charsheets on the absolute last day? :)

Pretty much, yeah. Even worse, I bombard the GM with about 6-8 sheets of little tweaks on the last day. :D

As a rule, you generally get about 10% of your character sheets before the due date, about 20% on the day they're due, and about 70% in the day or two following your deadline followed by pleas to be let in.
Okay, so I'm exaggerating, but it seems like that sometimes. |

I'd thought my former spec-ops leader was fully ready to go, but now I see that he's heavily reliant on guns from Raygun's site... likely going to have to re-tool him, as I'm not sure case-by-case all five of them'll be good to go.

and now for some humor....
PBTHHHHT: well, that's my character in a nutshell, any additional comments/suggestions, let me know Sword that Moos: Two ford americars? Sword that Moos: in case one blows up? PBTHHHHT: yup PBTHHHHT: undercover work. forgot to make one registered under the low lifestyle thing... though maybe I should change it to a jackrabbit PBTHHHHT: and yes, I have an unfornate thing of cars getting blown up on me. I always get two cars Sword that Moos: interesting. PBTHHHHT: well, actually it's only happened once. PBTHHHHT: but it's forever ingrained into me that for people doing undercover work and other missions that may have high chance of shooting.... well, a second car would be nice Sword that Moos: i can see the logic there |

It's a lovely tuesday here in SE of A. Judging by my time zone calculations, sheets are due today for you guys (technically. It must be around 4am in the US). I've gotten roughly 7-8 people by now.

Ah, wednesday morning over here. I think it's still technically tuesday over there...anyway, I'll be setting up the OOC and IC topics pretty soon. There's still time to join of course, seeing as how these games go.

How FX, I should I calculate costs for initiation? Could I create a group for my character to join? Or even another player to join? And how about trials? Thanks!
