No, I saw that, but by default it should put the DAT into the Data directory. A good install package doesn't have the program install itself to crash.

I also thought that that message ment that if you upgraded you'd have to copy the DAT, not if you did a full uninstall and reinstall.

McMackie, I found a problem with the new install package. It puts the new DAT file (the Lifestyle one) into the NSRCG folder, rather than into NSRCG\Data.

Yeah, my mistake.... It's now been re-uploaded and fixed (in the Install package).. The instructions are for the people who use the UpdatedEXE.zip file... Should be all good now! :)

Yeah, I noticed that last night. I had Boosted Reflexes 3 (cyber) and Synaptic Accelerator 2 (bio) and neither of them showed up in the attributes page.

Bug Report: When I buy a retractable cyber spur, it no longer gets added to the gear list. If I try to manually add it from the gear list, then I get a message that I have to do it in cyber.

Got a strange problem:
I installed the tool under XP Pro, in admin mode, and got no trouble. Then I tried to open .sr3 files, and got a message about the read/write properties of the files. I checked, and my .sr3 files were writable. I tried to create a new character, it worked.
Do you have an idea of what's happening ?

I've noticed a few times that after I add a datajack, it disappears from the character. The essence is recalculated, but the money is not. I'm going to try and see if it has anything to do with the placement of the datajack, but it doesn't seem to.

Two issues:
First, when working with a new character and increasing the RW of a language skill, the points showing how many skill points used does not increase.

The second issue is custom LAN skills do not generate an appropriate RW version of the skill.

The admin has R/W permission but if you've logged in under another name (with no admin previledges), you won't be able to change... Just add your user name to the the permission list.

Another Bug report: Troll dermal armor and bone lacing (really any cyber BOD mod) don't add up right. I'm going to do another update and address this and other bugs.

1) R/W skills are half of base automatically. I don't believe you can modify them on chargen.
2) Fixed.

The cyber spur bug was a issue with a missing ",". replace the Cyber.DAT file with updated file and it will go away.
The datajack bug may be an issue with Otaku (who get them free). I added another check to prevent that.
Troll and BOD CyberMod should be fixed now. Let me know if it isn't.
The site and files have been updated. :D

Thanks for your time.
I'll test as soon as I am at home (here in France it's morning, and so I'm at work ;) ).

Another issue, or rather a question for now: how QCK/STR are computed when implanting cyberlimbs ? I just try to create a NEW character, and only added cyberlimbs, and saw nothing taken into account in the Attributes part (limbs have base STR and QCK of 4 IIRC for human characters).
I tried both in 'legal' and 'rules off' modes.

About my write protection issue: I tried on a Win98 OS PC, and had the same problem.
I also had the same problem with a .sr3 file a friend sent to me.
I could workaround the problem by copying the content of the file in Wordpad into a new file.

In fact, I think I describe iunaccurately at first.
With my XP Pro PC, I installed and used the prog with the same account. No trouble with the install part. Then, when I want to load a character, here is the message I get:

Permission problem: check write protect

Now if I double-click on a .sr3 file, NSRCG opens and I get the following message:

NSRCG filename <CR> and filename must exist

The workaround I mentioned for Windows 98 doesn't seem to work with this PC.
At work, I have a XP Pro PC also, but only with a user account (with admin rights, though), and I have no such problem.

Any idea?

Use the "Print" option. At the top it gives you the choices HTML and XML. Chose XML, then choose one of the XSL Tranforms given. That should do it, it will be in the XML sub-folder of the program.

Hey, I was playing around with it last night, building an NPC Deckmeister. The initial creation went ok, finalized and printed well. However, when I awarded karma for use in upgrading the attributes and skills it became confused. Once karma was set, on the Karma Page, it gave proper values for the karma pool and available Good Karma. Going to the Attribute page and increasing the attributes tracked ok in the bar in the top right corner for karma spent, but was not reflected on the Karma page. Using the Save button did save the changes, however, the character was treated as no longer being finalized even though the Existing Character Flag was displayed. Using the Finalize button, dropped the Karma Pool back to 1 and dropped the karma available to 0 without changing the amount shown in the window next to the set button.
Pressing the set button again caused the spent value to reflect what had been spent earlier on the attributes and reset the KP to the appropriate value. Without changing anything further on the karma page, I went back to the Attributes page and the values there were the ones that I had raised them to. The karma bar on top though was showing the full amount of the original karma that was set, not the available karma amount. It also did not indicate that any karma had been spent. Going to the Skills page, I was able to increase skill ratings using the previously expended karma. Jumping back to the karma page, the spent karma on the skills was again not reflected as having been spent. Finalizing the character again results in the changes in the skills and attributes being saved, the KP again resetting to 1, and the available karma and spent values resetting to 0 with no change to the value in the set window.

Using the Save button, does not allow the character to be printed even though it shows as an existing character. The Finalize button use allows the character to be printed, but with incorrect KP and Good Karma values.

Since I screwed up and did not save a separate copy of the original sr3 file for the character for each of these attempts I'll redo the character and save it in steps if you would like.

On a slightly related note are we covering the SR Tracker here as well, or do we need another thread started to support it?

You know, I have had this same problem with not being able to print without re-Finalizing, and sometimes it will reset all my stats to 1. It seemed to only happen sporadically, but now that I think about it, it may be that it only happens with my Decker character.
