Hey Sphynx, don't worry about posting on this thread for my char, I don't mind at all (I did get your PM though, so I guess they're working again). So unless you yourself mind we do this on the thread, we can keep it here.

Looks like its really coming down to having your character now. I'd throw a link to my rigger, but NSRCG won't let me make it a HTML without finalizing it, and I've still got ¥133,000 left to figure out what to do with.

I'll do those 20 questions, too.
QUOTE

What is the character's name?
James, not telling my last name.  I use many aliases.

Character's sex?
Male

Character's physical size?
5'8", bog-standard.

What is the color of the character's hair, eyes and skin?
Brown eyes, brown hair, Caucasian-white skin.

What is the character's general appearance?
I'm fit without being really ripped, with average features and a European mishmash of an ethnic background.

Where were you born?
*glare* Next question.

When?
2040.  Ish.

Does the character have any family?
*Longer glare, and a shifting of the position to reveal the Roomsweeper in his coat* Next.  Question.

Where or how was the character educated?
A nice public school, but nothing special.

What did the character do for a living previously?
I was a street punk.  The gang leader, scary fragger by the name of Slash, liked using me in gang wars with a scoped pistol as a light sniper-type.

Who is hunting the character and why?
Hunting me?  Maybe the Draco Foundation, if that fragged-up Oxygenate spell didn't mess up the bum's aura permanantly.  Turned him in for the reward on a toxic shaman, before they set up the 'most wanted' list.  Other than that...nobody, really.  Not good business to make enemies.

Does the character have any political beliefs? Religious?
I don't like the corps, but that doesn't really qualify as either.

What is the character moral code?
Collateral damage is to be minimized.  Harming children, in ANY way, is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable.  So is running for a polluting employer

Does the character have any goals?
Do some damage to Saeder-Krupp, get my paws on some custom weapons, and in the long term retire to a white-picket-fence-and-loving-wife cliche.

What led the character to join Ghostwalker's team?
Pay's good, gets me a long way from Seattle, changes my MO from being a sneaky solo lowlife ganger to a high-powered bio'd up shadowrunning stealth samurai- which goes a long way to the Foundation not finding me.

What is the character's personality?
I'm...quiet.  I can motivate people when I need to, but I'm not much of a people person.  I try to avoid fighting if I can, but I know how to keep it subtle if I have to and to take down a skilled enemy if neccesary.  I'm kind of methodical, unwilling to go on a shadowrun on a wing and a prayer- I need detailed intel and maybe specialized equipment, as well as an effective plan.

What is the character very good at?
I can fight nearly as well as a 'traditional' type street samurai while doing it several orders of magnitude quieter and subtler.

Are there certain things the character just cant do?
Kill a child.

What does the character hate?
S-K, polluters, people who kill children.

What does the character love?
...if I get to thinking about how few things I love in this life I won't last another five hours.

Is there anything else I should know?
Much, but I don't want to tell you, and I've buried it pretty deep.  You'll have to be both good and lucky to get the rest of the story from me.

Uhh, seems I totally glossed over a post you made Sphynx about my char not interesting you that much. Want me to make another one? I don't mind. If it's constantly going to be difficult for you to give something interesting for my char to do, I prefer to use something else then, more combat oriented?

Well, there are a couple folk who don't like seeing kids get hurt, and a couple sneaky peepers, and some muscle and mojo. So far we have three in for sure (I think) and a couple with constructive criticism. Sphynx, where do I stand? Should I scrap and try again, or tweak?

Character edited.

Removed: cyberdeck w/ Browse 5 and 1 rating 4 SIN
Added:
Chem analyser / spectro
- Reference R4 (R6)
Internal GPS
Orientation System
Olfactory booster R5

Essence and cash changed accordingly.

Not really enough cash for cybereyes that would be better than my natural low-light, will get hose in-game. Also need to acquire cyberdeck in-game now.

Sphynx, are you satisfied with background info or do you want more?

[EDIT: I'll be out of town until Tuesday. Merry xmas everyone!]

Thanks. I've always loved the name Gypsy, but haven't got a chance to actually play a character with that name for some reason.

It just occured to me that you might mean that there is there another 'Gypsy' in this game. Is that the case?

Oh, I know your character is a gypsy, but didn't think he was named Gypsy. Checking back, this doesn't seem to be the case, but if it is his name then I guess I'll just have to adopt a new one. If it isn't his name though, I'm keeping it! :P ;)

Sphynx, query: Since this is Denver (even if Aztlan has been given the boot) having a couple fake IDs and travel passes from the getgo is probably a good idea. Will we be getting these from 'the organization,' or should we make allocations in our starting equipment to have a couple spare identities on hand?

Also, I just want to go over the roster of who we have in the game so far (I only included those who've posted stats so far).

Me: Tofu (Mouse shaman)
Fortune: Gypsy, (Hermetic)
Chance: Sanquine (sneak sammie)
JrayJoker: Ears (B&E/survelliance)
Lindt: Tevos (Fox Shamen, Conjurer)
Nightcrawler: Flatline (lightly cybered ex merc)
Gremish: Gremish (Cobra Shaman)
Backgammon: Dogma (face)
HmHVV Hunter: Rebo (psychic ex-military)
Morefizz: Grulas (vehicel rigger)
Toptomcat: James (subtle sammie)
Tarantula: (rigger, I think)

We've got 12 characters, five of which are magical in some way. What we seem to be missing is a heavy combat specialist, and a drone focused rigger. Did I miss anyone?

*edit* fixed Dogma.
*edit* fixed Ears.

Since the previous edit makes this post superfluous, I'll take the opportunity to pimp the fact that I updated Gypsy (previously posted). :D

On a more serious note. it's hard to say what's covered or needed without knowing who is and isn't actually included in the final roster.

That being said, if forced to comment on the roster as it stands (ok, put that gun down) ...

Personally, I'm seeing too many Riggers and not enough Muscle. I'm not the GM, but I would think that it would increase the chance of acceptance if your character didn't overlap others, except in certain circumstances like magic (;)) and combat.

Magic is good. Maybe a little Shaman-heavy (which is why I switched to Hermetic). Another Adept wouldn't hurt, but then any other combat-oriented character would be good.

Combat looks a little slim for the size of the team. 4 people would be hard-pressed to cover the others and still mount an effective offence.

All in all though, It all depends on Sphynx's final decision on the roster.

Sand, quick correction. Ears is a Sam/B&E/surveillance guy. He can hold his own in a fight, but prefers to use non-lethal means, has some gear and skills for covert surveillance and can B&E most locks given the time.

Ok, first off. Game Closed to new character submissions. If you hadn't posted a character by now, I feel its safe to assume you don't meet my pre-requisites (high enthusiasm, regular posting)

Accepted characters:

Toptomcat -> Stealth Samurai with a 12-cam Ruthenium Cloak (I stringly strongly strongly recommend buying extra gel packs for the Cloak, lots of them. :P)

HMHVV_Hunter -> Psychic Soldier (House Rule if you'd like, +2 to Manipulation spells, -2 to Combat Spells)

Lindt -> Fox Shaman Conjurer with Level 1 Initiation and Invoking (+2 to conjuring any 1 spirit type of your choice)

BackGammon -> Surveillance/Face (Still waiting for a background, tell me a story so I get a feel for your posts)

Gremish -> Goblin Mage with Heal. (I'll want to go over some stuff about your character, I love that he looks like a goblin though. :))

Fortune -> Sorcerer with my kinda spell list.

So, we currently have an almost pure magic group (4 of 6) with a Stealth Sammie and a Face Samme. To the rest of you who still want in (I don't object to large groups, I like them actually), you should consider being a bit more 'special'. I tend to pick out people that stand out (kinda the Anti-Tofu thing I'm afraid).

Toptomcat's Stealth Sammie with the Ruthenium Cloak is really about as stealthy as you can get. As we work on finalizing his character, I'll be stressing even more stealth oriented items (such as climbing claws and balance augs)

Hunter's Psychic Soldier is so full of theme that he's perfect as is. There'll be no need for further mods.

Lindt's Conjurer is very specialized in conjuring, but I'll be discussing with him the overkill on guns, and recommended a merger of skill points towards fewer combat skills, at higher levels.

BackGammon was almost overlooked until I saw just how good he was at surveillance. I'll be working on making him even better at what he's good at.

Gremish was chosen purely for his looking like a Goblin. I think I'll be working with him a bit on spells and such.

Fortune is the perfect spell caster with a nice array of spells, and nicely min-maxxed spell point expenditures (good use of Exclusives).

Despite 4 mages, no theme or character concept has been mirrored by another, that seems important to a story for me. The others didn't have something that made me go... hmmmm, interesting. So, feel free to point out, or highlight further, something that will catch my eye. Personally, I don't think I'm gonna go with any Vehicle Riggers. I'm sorry as that is unfair since I didn't state that in my original posts, but Vehicle Riggers tend to be boring in a game as they aren't so "team" oriented. A Rigger with some Micro or Minis might work if he can do alot of other things.

However, I think (going over some sheets) that "bland" is in. Alot of characters which seem book-typical with no stats/skills over 4, etc. I have no objections AT ALL with a little minmaxxing, as a matter of fact, I tend to favor those players as that tells me they really put alot of effort into getting exactly what they see in a character (which, if you ask anyone who really loves their character, they're usually 'the best', or trying to be, at something).

Those are my thoughts. On Monday I'll post an OOC thread so those that are 'in' can work on their position in the team, and other background merges needed to qualify the group for my requisites. :)

Cool! :D

Gypsy has gone through a ton of alterations since I first posted him, and I was wondering if I went to far with the Spell list. I'm still finishing up shopping for him, and if you have any suggestions (on any aspect of the character), feel free to let me know.

I'm definitely looking forward to the game. :)

I think I diluted Tofu's personality a bit too much trying to divide him into three characters. I really liked the mouse shaman idea, but given how magic heavy the group was, I didn't really develop it as strongly as I should have. So, I threw him down on the drawing board, and remade him from scratch, with just on specific character in mind this time. I kept some of the backstory, but turned him into a physical recon specialist.

Jack No'one

Jack is an infiltration/impersonation specialist. With his cyberware he can reconoiter a location, both visually and audibly. He is almost completly mutable. One day he can be an elf, the next day an ork, the third day a human of almost any size and shape. He's not as good as a Physical Mask spell, but in these days of magic, using a disguise that doesn't leave astral tell tales can be an unexpected edge. He uses slotted skills to fill out whatever gaps he may have in his performances.

He was mentally scarred by his childhood in Chicago, and uses the changes of identity as a protective escape. He is friendly, and usually a pleasant fellow to get along with. His one bad habit is a tendancy to zone out, and just stare at people, analyzing their voices, their patterns and movements, breaking an individual down into person. It's a rather creepy stare to be at the recieving end of.

When he is not trying to be anyone else, he looks like a human male with olive skin, short, dark hair (he keeps it cropped close to make it easier to wear wigs), and hazel cyber eyes. He dresses plainly, but neatly. His datajacks are concealed with one behind each ear

Also, Sphynx, since there is no equipment listing for disguise kit, I set aside 2,000 nuyen, thinking that might be a resonable cost for one. It'd have wigs, pigments, contact lenses, facial, dental, and ear prostetics, air bladders, pads, the basic supplies you would need to do a cosmetic facial and body alteration to try and do a good job of appearing as someone else.

Character stats are now at the top of page ten.

A little bit of backstory:

[ Spoiler ]

Does this fit a little better into your game?

Interesting Sandoval, and definitely catches my attention. Might consider Ruthenium Dermal Sheathing (though expensive, it would work better than cosmetic supplies, and you could use your disguise skill to get the proper results.)

Anyhows, yeah, I like this character.
