<"Right. Things are rapidly getting complicated, and our plan involving picking up the assasin's target depends on everything going just right...a contingency that seems increasingly unlikely. I'm going to go with the original plan now and just get the assasin NOW, otherwise we could end up with nothing but red faces to show for our trouble.">

Carefully tenting the cloak around him and sighting down the barrel of his Alta without removing it, James emptied the clip at point-blank, hitting neck, face, arms, ankles, and every inch of exposed skin he could find before the target hit the pavement. He waited a second or two to make sure he wasn't going to get up again, then spread his cloak around the body and, picking it up carefully, proceeded to get out of there as fast as ruthenium and stealth would allow, eventually working his way up to a convenient flat-roofed building where he deposited him.

<"I just pulled my magic dissapearing trick on him, but anybody watching him won't be fooled for long, and picking up a warm body's made my thermal damping a laughingstock. I need extraction NOW.">

<"Arty has your thermal on sensors. I'll bring the truck around.">

Sleel orders the truck to drive itself to a nearby crossroads to the building while jumping into Ajax. He sees that Ajax has been diligently following his sister while he was away, before he quietly broadcasts out of only the drones speaker, so only Slinky can hear, "Hey, I had to move the truck, a little bird will lead you back when you need it, Ajax is gonna stick around to provide you backup, let me know if I need to take over." Ording Ajax to guard his sister, he checks the modified lonestar strato drone in the back of the truck, warming its engine up preparing to launch it.

<"Truck enroute, Ajax is providing backup for Jack and Slinky. Hernando is in the truck, complete with knight-errant paintjob if we need him.">

Sighing Sleel returns to his body to drive the truck manually through the streets, pulling up to the curb next to the building James is currently on top of. After a moment, he realizes that theres something in his hair, reaching up, finds a spitwad. "Ugh... again, even after the last time I told her. Argh, I'm going to have to do something about that." He jacks into the remote, telling the bison to warn him if anyone gets close enough to set off the proximity alert. Satisfied, he returns to Arty, his mini-blimp, to watch James' next move.

Tevos walks out the front door of the hotel sporting his best college student impression, DU hoodie and jeans, with a black shoulder bag. But this is more to hide the ear bud and mic then for camoflague. Tev thumbs the radio onto VOX and turns it on to hear James <"sight of him again"> and Tevos starts making the walk to the plaza, only he never makes it there.
<"I've been made"> The radio clips loud and crisp in his ear. Tev curses and starts looking for a back ally. <"Target is magically active"> the radio crackles. Screw it, we are open now. Tev stops on the side walk, un shoulders his bag, peeks around for local law, and opens to the astral, calling a sprit of the city to his aid. "Oh city, lend me a arm so I might do your services" A large slab of sidewalk melds into a bipedal form quickly, and Tevos raises his hand to its head and channels a massive bust into its form. A mask like a fox is readly apperent to anyone not running for their life. The concrete for 5 feet around them cracks and the form grows to a full ten foot mountain of rock, asphault, and rebar. "Sprit, come with me" The lumbering hulk winks out of existance, and Tevos takes off at the best sprint his drained body can muster.
Tevos hears the radio chatter <"..and warm body's made my thermal damping a laughingstock. I need extraction NOW."> Tev speaks <"On the way with help"> An idea pops into Tevs slightly rattled head. He scretches to a hault only a block from where he summoned the city sprit. This time a great bit more covert "Sky friend, send me aid" he whispers, and adresses the tiny dust devil. "I must move with great haste, do this and your free to go" The subtle breeze at his back Tevos covers the space to where James was stationed exactly as Sleel pulls up. Tev turns to what appears to be nothing and bows. "Oh guardian of the city, keep us from the eyes that where not to see us"

QUOTE (Sphynx @ Jan 6 2005, 07:24 AM)
I will be starting a new thread in a bit for IC.  Please no posting until the 9th.  (There'll be alot for you to read on the thread and I don't think I can type/post it all in a day)  :P  Use THIS thread to 'suggest' a different way your character would have reacted so I can edit the original posts on there.  I'll often do stuff like: Simba laughingly replies, " ... ", where you should tell me a 'quip' or something which expreses your personality better than I could do.  That should be stated here so I can edit it there.  On the 9th (3 days) we begin in earnest.  Thread name will be:

Earth's Dawn - Oh... the HORROR!

Ah snap. I'm going to need more bullets.

*edits character sheet accordingly*

IC:

Lilt sends a transmission out to the group. "Heavily encrypted comm traffic just jumped through the roof. Looks like a lot of people just started calling out for support. Keep yours eyes open James, until the pickup."

James' takedown and snatch of Dedos was a superbly executed piece of work. He had him out there before any of his (hypothetical) backup could even warm up their smartlinks. The air elemental that manifests in front of him though, is probably not about to start complimenting him on his style.

(IIRC, there were also a couple watchers hanging around Dedos. Who knows what they're up to).

Unless Sphynx has told you otherwise, yes, you're still in. I started the free form stuff because I was injured, housebound, and really wanted something to do while waiting for the game to officially start.

Ok, starting new threads today. I'll be making 3 threads in total, an [IC] [OOC] and [CHAR] thread.

IC posts should not begin until the 9th and should be formatted in such a manner:

QUOTE

InCharacter description of what the character is doing, and what he has done/thought/etc.  Do not hesitate to add your own character's view on the previous post.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Initiative (Not your roll, I roll the dice): 2d6+4
Offense: 7 dice (4 from unarmed, 3 from Combat pool)
Defense: 4 dice (4 from Combat Pool)

Weapon Damage: 4M
Ballaistic/Impact: 5/3

<or if not in a combat situation>

Etiquette: 4 dice
Resistance: 5 (Availability) <Could also be Open for Open Tests>

<or for a spell>

Casting Dice: 7 <5 from Sorcery, 2 from Spell Pool>
Drain Dice: 7 <4 from Willpower, 3 from Spell Pool>

<Etc, fewer calcs I have to do, the better my posts>

Description of what exactly I'm trying to do OOC.

CHAR thread should only have 1 post per person, ever. Put your character sheet there, and Edit it whenever you get Karma. There should be a seperator at the bottom of the sheet for what you've spent Karma on.

The OOC thread is for anything at all EXCEPT IC stuffs.

Most important thing to remember is that you should do your best at the bottom of the IC thread to make sure I don't have to go looking over your character sheet repeatedly to find out what you need to roll. I take a 30 minute break every day, purely for the purpose of writing the next part of the story, the more time I have for IC, the better the story. :)

Whoah, wait, did I miss a post? What's this one bag stuff (ironically, when I posted my character a couple hours ago, I'd added a suitcase to his equipment list. What good disguise artist doesn't keep all his props in one place)? Explanation please?

*edit*
Never mind, I just read the first in game post. Man, what a team we've got. Guess adding the suitcase didn't do much good, but a good thing I added a second pistol at the last minute. Too bad too, because I'd actually never had a character get to play with a SMG before (my characters usually seem to live or die by the pistol).

Course, this is why I like Sleel's gun. Armtech-MGL6... What? Its a "pistol". 8)

Should we put the OOC part of our posts in /spoiler tags? Sorta like turning off signatures?

I was going to ask that as well.

As for turning off sigs, I'm glad you brought that up (again). It is considered common courtesy to not use signatures in any IC thread (this one sorta doesn't count). I think it's a good idea to do the same in the Character Sheet thread as well, as pretty much everyone has already done..

I think his character could easily fool even the most patriotic Tir elf. That's his character concept, and even if he didn't have the dice for it, the theme is enough that whoever the GM is, would surely allow it. :P Sandoval, not that it'll play a factor, but you would have no trouble at all pulling off a Tir Elf disguise. ;)
