jklst: Great idea! Thanks!
Paul: My campaign started in early 2052. As time passes I'll be letting newer technologies become available, first to its producers, and then trickling down into the hands of shadowrunners. |

I just noticed bioware that is now only available as cultured, such as cerebral booster, damage compensators, mnemonic enhancers, pain editor, reflex recorder, synaptic accelerator, and the trauma damper was available as standard bioware.

Actually, no. In Shadowtech, it states that neural bioware is automatically cultured (of which all the listed bioware counts as neural bioware). |

Sorry, you are correct. I was looking at the equipment list and it was not divided as it is in third edition.

Yeah, that was quite confusing. Although I do remember we used to play it as non-cultured, and had to retcon our characters after we read that section of the rules. :-P Back in the old days... |

Thanks again for all your help folks!
Someone mentioned no CCSS systems. When did those become available? |

Approximately in 2055 by CerebroTech (probably a subsidiary of Ares). Because of the nature of SOTA, you could probably introduce prototypes in 2052-53, but these would be extremely rare. |

I've gotten my hands on Fields of Fire and Shadowtech, which has filled in a lot of holes in the timeline, but there's still large chunks of cyberware missing from the list.
The gear I've got timelined so far comes from Fields of Fire, Corporate Security Handbook, and Fields of Fire. If there are other books I'm missing and someone wants to give me a rundown on what's there I'd be forever in their debt (or at least for a little while). I know there's at least one book missing from my sources, because I haven't found cyberskulls and torsos yet. There's also the Street Samurai's Catalog, but I'm not sure what year it is for or what gear is in it. |

I guess that cyber skulls and torsos are in Cybertechnology..?
SSC is all 2050 (the final shadowtalk comment is from FJ wishing everyone a merry christmas). The one thing that's obvious is that things haven't developed much in the 10-15 years since those books. Most people are still using the same WR2 (OK, alpha is easier to get hold of) and the "premier" gun is still the Predator... It's almost as if SOTA doesn't happen for tech (not like those adepts...) :D |

That's the one whose name I can't remember! Can someone please give me a list of the equipment in it and what year the book is for? |

I know, not a lot. I was /trying/ to be facetious. Apparently I'm not good at that or sarcasm.

You're kidding!!! Just open NSRCG, go to options, and remove all the books except Cybertechnology. |

That's a much better option. :)
Now if someone will please tell me what the date is for the gear in it I think I've got all the info I need to make an up-to-date technology timeline. |

Here's the list of cyberware NSRCG said was in Cybertechnology. I'm almost positive there was more than that in the book.

Wow, where to start? Cybertorsos, cyberskulls, cybercomm links (cyber telepathy, how cool was that?) , eyelights, eye lasers, move by wire, cyberarm gyromounts, the cybereye datajack, induction datajacks (? not sure about that)... er... help me out guys, my memory's starting to run out. Oh, and Cybertechnology was the first appearance of the Cyberzombie - get it, read it, Hatchetman's transcript of becoming a cyberzombie was poignant and disturbing.
edit: oh, and the reflex trigger. |

I just realized I can probably look at Man and Machine's list of cyberware and assume that anything not in Fields of Fire, Shadowtech, or Corporeate Security Download came from Cybertechnology. A few things will probably slip through that came from another book, but hopefully the majority of that list will have come from Cybertech.
That just leaves the "what year des Cybertechnology cover?" question. |

Yeah, but hopefully when I get it written up and posted somebody will have the decency to yell things like "IDIOT! Oral Lasers came out in M&M, that means they don't exist until 2061!" :D

Any of the “new” stuff that was really old stuff rewritten should stay as it is.
Eg it was determined that the spell lock was to easy to use so they created the sustaining focus and the anchoring metameric and changed the threshold of focus addiction. This was a chang in the rules that should permeate back threw the history. Likewise muscle toner and muscle org use to be one implant now it is 2, I would leave it as 2. Many of the implants would still be available the biggest difference is in grading and availability. Cyber decks still come in MPCP up to 12 but the MPCP12 deck of 2052 I probably the equivalent of an MPCP2 deck by 2065 of cause hosts programs IC and hardening as well as everything else are correspondingly less effective so change none of the numbers. Initiation I think exists by that time but there will be far fewer groups, mages will have to work hard to find instructions that work for them and probably initiate without group or ordeal (or will only find instructions that work for a couple of ordeals) Only the best toys don’t yet exit in some form, SL2 some metamagics, but you probably want to play with the availability, and limit starting chars to avail 6 like they where before, also no biowear or alfa ware at char gen.
