Kamikaze is a good choice, but you need to keep track of how many times you've used it. Once you reach 5 uses (and every 5 uses after that), you automatically take a wound effect of some sort. This can be bad news and very expensive. One of my character's keeps 4 Kamikaze tablets (or is it inhalers?) in his pocket whenever he's gearing up.
Another useful drug is called Cram. I believe that it takes 10 minutes to take effect, so you need to plan ahead. But once effective, it grants you an additional +1D6 to initiative and lasts for (10 - natural body) hours. I believe there are a few others that grant the ability to resist pain or add dice to quickness or intelligence or whatever. I'd be careful as the rules for addiction and developing a tolerence are pretty harsh. Puck |

While limiting one's Kamikaze intake is only sensible, making use of the 4-dose point is rather metagamey.

Do you just want canon combat drugs or other stuff too? No one has been crazy enough to try combat drugs in my game yet. They haven't tried to take on the go-gangs yet either. I have a few good ones ready when they do. |

*before* the dude in our game got addicted (and actually a whole lot after...), Kamikaze saved his butt many times. More strength, initiative, pain resistance. The stuff was great until he was rolling for 14's to try and break the habit. Roleplay value was through the roof though.
For a quick boost to save your butt, go kamikaze. |

Does Kamikaze stack?
If so, that Troll with wired reflexes is suddenly looking a whole lot scarier.... |

But the addiction rules can be problematic if you're not careful.

If you start out with high willpower or body attributes (depending on the drug), you can withstand becoming addicted for a long time as long as you're not an over-the-top junkie.

I think you can stack cram, kamikaze, and wired reflexes. If so, hello my next character.

Hey man, didn't you know? Everybody's doing it nowadays. Though, that does open an interesting idea for some Max Payneish escapades....gangers hyped up on insane drugs, financed by some evil megacorporation... Hmmm..... |

don't forget the newer "awakened" drugs - one of the best for combat is Spirit Strength....hard to get, but if you can, having the Movement power, Enhanced Physical Attributes, and Enhanced Reaction is a big advantage, especially if you're low on cyberware (ie high essence) and into melee combat...
(these drugs are in M&M) |

I took all 3 of the good ones (jazz, kamikaze, cram) into the arcology with me, 2 doses of each as well as enough long hall to keep the teem running for a solid week. Didn’t wind up needing it (other than to wake up the rigger because he refused to sleep while his precious drone was damaged).
It would have been a real risk to take them, me being a mage and all, but when your ass hits the fire and the chips are down the idea is to take all 3 and show them the door to hell, hoping you can stop before you have to join them.. Edward |

What action is required to take a drug? What is the action if you have an auto-injector?
