oh man, I have this bad image in my mind now...
------------------------------------------------------
A young male elf wearing the symbols of his gang, The Ancients, singing from his pad in the city of Seattle...

(Sung to the music of 'I Feel Pretty'*)
I feel floofy,
Oh, so floofy,
I feel floofy, and witty and gay,
And I pity
Any meta who isn’t me today.

I feel charming,
Oh, so charming--
It’s alarming how charming I feel,
And so floofy
That I hardly can believe I’m real.

See the pretty elf in that mirror there:
Who can that attractive elf be?
Such a pretty face,
Such a pretty dress,
Such a pretty ears,
Such a pretty me!

I feel stunning
And entrancing--
Feel like casting and prancing for joy,
For I’m loved
By a pretty wonderful troll*!

Have you seen my good friend, Elf-onso... the craziest Elf on the block!
You'll know him the minute you see him... he's the one who is in an advanced state of shock!

He thinks he's in love.
He thinks he's in Spain.
He isn't in love,
He's merely insane!

It must be the heat
Or some rare VITAS,
Or too much to eat
Or maybe it's fleas.

Keep away from him,
Send for DocWagon!
This is not the
Elf we know!

Modest and pure,
Polite and refined,
Well-bred and mature
And out of his mind!

This reminds me of a discussion that we had in our group about what kind of Musical Theater would still be around in 2060. We recently had the group sneak onto a production of "Grease" (that flopped, and closed down in a week), and were coming up with various remakes of musicals with magic and metahumans, like Les Miserables with all the lead parts played by Elves or Javert being sung by a Troll Baritone (a Tenor by Troll standards).

With the lifespan of Shadowrun elves, you'd be waiting for a LONG time. :)

Dude, you've got to think glooooooobally... ;)

I'm feeling, though, that the likliest "form" of musical theatre around would be something like Stephen Sondheim (great guy). I can just picture the wonderful complex harmonies of Now-Soon-Later (from Night Music) lifted up by a trio of Dwarf (Heinrich, the little guy), Human (Frederick) and Elf (Anne). And a sasquatch in the band...

And I'd love to see "Company" done by an all-Ork troupe!

But the Troll Gilbert and Sullivan company? I think not...

Hehe, that leads back to the stereotype in Les Miserables with most of the lead parts being elves... those elves are french! Hmmm... oh, anybody hear of the miniatures game, flintloque? Fantasy meets Napoleonic, the elves are the french, the orks are the british, the undead are the russians, etc...

Speaking of which, what sort of Elvis variations will we find in Vegas 2064?
Great, now you inspired to plan for a silly run or two centering around Broadway... :wobble:

But to fit in with this thread it would have to be Elf-is.
