Everyone is going to the track? Thats cool gotta get in shape for the big race in a few weeks, who knows there might be some other teams there too. I was kinda worried that Jet wouldn't be returning to the shop but I'm glad to see that he's still kickin'.

Well, going seemed the logical thing to do. Everyone would be itching to learn the track layout before their debut. We intend to walk away with all the prize money, of course ;)

Plus as basically the only non-racer, Luis wants to see the layout of the pit, get a feel for where issues might arise, how to guard against those issues and also get a feel for the lay of the track as I think I might be the only person with biotech.

I'll have to fabricate one. The track is not using the streets of seattle anymore due to the track running in the middle of the Barrens, so they reconstructed it turn for turn, bump for bump in a more controlable area. So the pit natrually would be setup like a formula car pit, three entrances front middle and back, the team's pit place(well you have five places in case you want to have multiply entrants in the same race) is located at the back of pit road, the closests spots to the entrance to the pit area. in you area as I said you have five places for cars, and the track supplies the tools for in race work, you have to bring your own to replace a broken turbo. The security is easy to maintain since there is only one entrance needed to be gaurded(not that security would be a BIG problem anyway, unless you guys don't send a clear meassage to the Lightning Riders) the track provides security and around the perimiter of the track land is errected a magical barrier to keep unwanted folks out.
Thanks Tarantula for finding that map, it's the only one I could find too. |

Oooh explosives, that should be fun.
Umm one other track related thing the first real staight after the starting line, the one right before the 90 degree turn is up hill with three short intersection like flat spots, this portion of the track is by far the most dangerous, if your going over 70(which most of the cars you all have by my calculations with be) when you hit those "flat spots" you will be airbourne(I can't tell you how many times in gran turismo, when I was just starting out, I can down sideways and entered into a flat spin). The rest of the track is great, it by coincidence is my abosolute favorite track from any GT title, so I know it like the back of my hand. The longest straight has a slight turn but it's nothing you'd need to even slow down for unless your driving a hovercraft or monster truck. The only tricky part of the track is the series of turns after that straight away, but it's not nearly as dangerous as the up hill portion. So with that in mind happy racing, and watch that first straight. I'll try and put up a pit map if my desciption isn't detailed enough. |

Kiedo, since you actually have GT3, and I don't, if you could help me with landmarks and things, I could get a satellite pic of the street layout in the area. So far, all I've been able to find out is the space needle is visible in the background, and its near a stadium?

K-Bob will follow Luis and the big truck to the track. He might try a few stunts on the bike if an area looks to be free of police and dangerous obstacles, i.e.; wheelies, stoppies - ever cautious of cages (cars) and breaking the self-imposed 6k redline.

Umm I've never been to Seattle so I can't really pick any noticable landmarks but sufice it to say that I'll be pretty flexible with track configuration, just know it looks like the picture you put up. The area around the pit is under an overpass and the biggest straight is elevated, I'l go check it out as soon as I'm finished with my dinner.

quick question, I know the sensor information can be broadcast, but can the readouts as well? like tachometer, fuel efficiency, etc. Give us in the pit a good sense of what's going on under the hood as the vehicle is moving?

Yeah, but Luis has all the cool, shiny stuff in the truck. Exhaust Gas Analyzers, spark curve tracers and such are not the standard for street go-gangers. I figured that the Blitzen would run well when K-Bob joined but that there would be room for improvement to get the bike in top form. Just some flavor, perhaps a plot hook – in all, just a bit of play. |

You all must worship me now, I have maps.
Map Gallery Here First is the image Kiedo gave us oriented the right way, then a topographical map with the racetrack traced next to in yellow. Next is a sat image of the area, map is sprayed over in yellow, pit area in red. Last is the same sat image, without the colors in the way. |

The pit area as I laid out, has three main entrances big enough for trucks to get through they lead to the road that runs behind the bleachers, there are recessed areas in the concrete that look like pillars will come out of, at the entance and exit of the pit access roads. In the pit itself under each spot is a steel grating big enough for a small group of people or one large troll to fit down. The only other entrance is a side door next to each pit access point that leads into the bleachers, each of the doors has a card maglock that looks like it came from a military instillation. There are no people actively using stealth, not that you can see, period. The whole area is spotless and there are various cleaning crew picking up the stands from last night's drag race competition.
Oh I forgot to mention, the drag track is separate from the circuit track, as you can tell there aren't any straight straights in the road course. But thats a different area. |

Is it a hole or is there a connecting tunnel of some type?
I assume it's some sort of fuel or oil trap so that if there is a problem, a fire won't spread too far. |

It connects to the sewer lines, and it is for fire control. If one of the pit crew happens to be clumsy and spill some gas while refueling during a race then that would take it into a safer area in case of fire. Water is visible from the pit and it looks deep.
