i think what he was trying to say was that he had a first print of the "new seattle" book...

In a discussion about how the fluff from older editions's fluffbooks is still valid in a newer edition? That'd make no sense then, as New Seattle is a 3rd Edition book.

true, but that does not stop people from making statements like it :P

and bookwyrm, i dont think thats so bad an idea. the more info that gets put on shadowrunrpg the more it seems to become a whole new beast. but im glad they dont toss the whole storyline like WW did with the new WoD...

Well forgive me for assuming a dumpshocker was trying to make sense. I of all people should know better.

What I find as the major strike against SR4 is that they're scrapping all the good Magic rules that have come before; Magic In The Shadows is a damn fine book, and something I re-read on occaision.

I like the idea of a wireless Matrix, but calling them 'hackers' is going to have serious repercussions. Again, I'll wait until the book hits & I can have a look at it.

Who says they're scrapping all the good magic rules? The basic stuff was mostly unchanged from 2nd to 3rd, and the changes weren't that dramatic from 1st to 2nd. The big changeover from 2nd to 3rd was the graded initiation, and I think they'll probably keep it.

Exactly. All we've been told is that the rules have been streamlined, not broken into a million pieces.

Although (and I'm just being cynical here) there is nothing to say the the developers decided that in order to streamline the rules they had to be broken into pieces and glued back together again.

Personally, I think we should all wait until we have some more info on the changes, or *gasp* just wait until the new book comes out. But then again, this is dumpshock and if there's one thing we do well it's speculate and make up new rules.
