Whoops, apologies for not making myself clear. At this point I'm definitely in. I would NOT have written all that backstory just to drop out now. =) I will have a character to you in a couple days, do you have a deadline? Acutally, those exact scenarios crossed my mind. That's why Im thinking of getting more "balance" cyberware, than the VCR. I was thinking about the jumping up on the bike, and doing that could lead to a nasty spell of dumpshock should the wire get yanked. Besides, as a ganger, I think Id have a hard time justifying a lot of tech gear.

Besides, not having it leaves essence free for later to get it, should we go that way... and I have to say... there's something classy about having a guy who can drive like a bat out of hell without a VCR.

Now I just have to choose a bike. Rapiers are so overdone. Blitzens are good, but it's a BMW. That leaves what, the Aurora? I have to check my books. Anyone have a quick rundown on the options out there until I can get my RBB and R3 out?

Mugzy, there are varients of the rapier in rigger 3. Never discount a vehicle by its looks or if its common....especially if it isnt stock.

Just to build more on the personality of the "homicidal" troll, Legion, so to maybe curb some of the monster comments, here goes.

The tale of legion’s life would suggest the creation of a demon, but his light hearted approach to things has helped squelch the jaded heartless killer image that seems to loom over his head. Sure he is violent, and sure he has absolutely no problem killing people, but he has a very unexpected sense of humor, and is pretty nice unless he's got business with you. Most people don't see this side of Mitch, only really his family, his gang, sees this. He has a habit of calling people he "needs" to be interacting with "squishy", this has almost sent those with him into great fits of laughter, while at the same time scaring the hell out of the poor guy he said it to.

He learned to read from his mother, since he never really attended school, due to metahuman prejudice, and avidly reads anything he can get his hands on, from war and piece to chicken soup for the metahuman soul. He may not have any formal education, but that does not make him dumb, he is extremely intelligent for a troll and even for another metahuman. He, despite this, still likes to let people think he’s oafish and as a result he has surprised more than a few people with his intellect. In his spare time, contrary to popular belief(and he’s not going to say anything different), he does not spend his time feasting on the bones of the innocent, but rather painting and reading. His paintings are very dark social commentaries that he sometimes sells under the alias, John Farson, a name he picked up from an eighty year old Stephen King book, and has had minor success. His painting, entitled “Corporate Blood”, depicting a few wageslaves beating up some innocent child sold for almost 10,000 nuyen and is hung in a human rights group headquarters, if they found out that a “blood thirsty ganger” painted the piece they’d probably burn it. Enjoying all types of books, Mitch is never in short supply of things to read, and he will occasionally go to a book store in Fort Lewis, to pick up some reading material.

He likes to help his fellow gangers anyway he can, not that many take him up on it. He has sort of a drinking problem, not anything serious enough for good ol’ AA but enough to get him a PI or ten. His love for canibus is matched only by is old cell mate, Denni, and they can often be found in Denni’s van “smoging” it out.

Would it be possible to get a 'Who's who' of some of the major characters in our world? Just a list with a sentence or two of description will be great, particularly of our own gang members and any significant enemies we should probably know about. Just wondering.

Exterior

Damage: Small dents, bent drooping front bumper
Description: On the outside this van looks completely inconspicuous. Other then a few minor scratches and a bented up front bumper (Dane has been asked to work on these imperfections, just Hênni’s a bit low on the nuyen at this time and he’s still about two weeks away from a new crop of the sticky punge), which hopefully will be fixed up soon. On closer inspection you would also notice there is no way to see into the back of the vans windows. Dark tenting you ask? No wood ply. What? Yep! The interior has been reinforced with wood ply and it would seem he has not taken the time to cut out the window holes.

Interior

Description: This is where most of the time and cost has been spent on this van. Lets start at the helm; the two seats have been stripped and replaced with new ones. A captain’s style chair reinforced for you larger people (i.e. Legion who can be seen riding shotgun with the Rastafarian from time to time) replaces the passenger’s seat. For the driver its full size seat has been replaced with a bucket style chair. In the rear the bench seat has been removed and donated to one of the gangs squatter houses.
Behind the drivers seat an opposite from the sliding door, a small cabinet has was built and a light outlet has been run and installed. Usually these plugs are full, growing lights taking up their ports and a plant or two is placed in mounted pots on the it's top. Inside this cabinet is where Sage Wraps, Gonga Stick, incense, strange assortments of components in jars and a Hooka can usually be found. Seating is simple in the rear as three bead style cushions take up that space laid out in any order that fit occupants at the moment. Lighting is simple as Neon’s in a light blue hues are ran all through out its upper ceilings. But under that is a strange thing it’s purposes known probably only to him. Chicken wire! What?
Yeah… yeah.. You’re starting that again. Their chicken wires all right, and from that hang chickens and many other foul.
If that’s not enough about the foul there is also a coup that holds live chicken, three to be exact. It is located right behind the cabinet. Mostly those who ride with the rasta have to be stoned just to sit back there with no windows, neon’s in dingy blue hues through the smoke, hanging dead birds and live chicken squawking.
As mentioned before wood ply, well probably not quite ply more like scrounged wooden road signs and squatter house remains. He was going to spend the time cutting out the holes for windows yet he got ere’ side tracked and… uh… what? Uh… I forgot my place…

Yeah.. ah.. there was one more thing I think I was going to chronicle… Ah… I cannot think with all this smoke about… Hmm? Oh well I guess it’s not important anyway.

Sorry 'bout the delay, had no books at work, so I couldn't work up anything concrete until now.



I'm hitting severe writer's block as far as a neat story goes, but I have a solid concept and history now, and can hit the 20 Q's. I have a history, but I just can't put it in words right now. My brain is simply dead.

I have a sheet pretty much ready to go pending a few questions that I'll PM to you Hobbe, regarding vehicle customization.

I hope this turns out okay, if more is needed in this department immedately, let me know and I can get it together. Its a little fragmented and 'rabbity' but I hope its at least coherant.

But here we go

Martin Freeman - "Crash"

Human Male, Age 24
5'10" 164 Lbs.

Marty looks younger than he really is. With medium length unruly brown hair and a clean shaven face, he could probably pass as a teenager, especially with that cocky smirk he has. Usually found in an old faded green surplus U.S. army jacket, Jeans, a T-shirt, and combat boots, Marty doesn't look like any kind of threat, especially without any visible cyber. He wears the sleeves rolled up to show off the tattoos on his forearms of tribal designs and eastern dragons, that cover up the skin graft job on his left side: the result of a high speed crash, complete with a bounce and a 15 meter face down skid, from which he gets his nickname.

Born in a Fort Lewis Vet's Hospital, and raised in a 2 room flat in Silver Spring in Puyallup, he shared with his little sister and his folks, and another family, even though his old man wasn't around much. The dick. He used to come home from workin on some rich slag's new house all day, and beat the ever living shit out of his wife. Marty got it too, when he ditched school, and he found out.

After the old man had a run in with some "friends" that landed him in the hospital for two weeks he stopped comin around so often. He said he had a change of heart and was, always down at the mission, sayin he was there to help people 'gain their full potential'.

Marty went to school there until he was 10, when it was found out that the Univeral Brotherhood, which was runnin the joint, wasn't all it was cracked up to be, and his father 'mysteriously disappeared' after the mission was raided by a corp funded SWAT team, which probably meant he was shot in the face, as far as Marty knew, or worse, turned into one of them bug monsters.

After that, Marty's mother tried to pick up on the schooling, but couldn't keep up on that, and meet the rent needed every month. So he went back to school at the homeless shelters until he was 15. That's when a stolen Harley Sportster, a Toyota Elite and a split second of bad judgment came together in a bad way.

The crash though, did little to dissuade him from bikes. He was hooked.

When he got out of the hospital, the first thing he did was steal another bike. He did this three, four times each month, just to feel the road under him. But one time, the bike turned out to be from the wrong group.

After watching a gang fight in the street, Marty took off with one of the combatant's bikes, while he was whipping the hell out of an ork with a chain. The ganger turned around just in time to have the back of his head blown apart from one of the ork's buddies. Too poor for most cyberware, he was chased down after a few other guys, quicker on their feet than Marty's eyes. Luckily they didnt kill him on the spot, in that blind alley.

They turned out to be from a gang that appreciated a good rider, but couldn't just let him go, even if he was only a kid. So, they dragged him to one of their pads, and locked him in a room for 2 days. After two miserable days spent in this room with nothing to eat, he was allowed to meet with one of the gang's bigwigs, who gave him an option: prove your loyalty and replace the one you got killed, or get shot here and now.

I do hope that's enough for right now. Im in the process of building my bike still. But I have the char sheet most of the way done.

And to you Winter... Herald Yarland (Hênni to some) Yardy to most but a Rastafarian to all. If ya' already read the post on his ride, fear not he is just as eccentric in person as the thing's he aquires.
In the gang he is your's and all's spiritual adviser, and a firm practitioner of the Divine art. With " dem' bones " he can tell you more then ya even know about yourself. And others to boot there pasts, there futures and the life they lead now. The only catch is he costs for that service, so if you want to know when Dane's next big project is due... or when you will get that promotion, or worst your death. Just stop by and ask just remember to stock the Nuyen. He can tell you other things as well though if you don't want to pay the hefty fee's... Like if Survivor lied when he poured your drink and said there was only about one ounce of liquor in it. Aura reading is cheap, he can do that to.

Clarification to Sandoval's earlier comment about how most gangers are people who think they're bigger than they are and what not.

Think of it this way. Gang asks for protection money, guy gives it to them because he recognizes that's how biz goes, gang leaves. Lee has no problem with that.

What he has a problem with are those who'd then smash up the shop or mess with the guy or his place after he's paid them. To him, that's idiotic and uncalled for.

Smashing him or his place up if he refuses to pay is fine, there's an order to how things work in life and that is the way things go on the gang's turf. But messing with the people on your turf unnecessarily is just inefficient and stupid.

That's what I was referring to about him protecting the innocent. It doesn't mean that there aren't rules that people have to follow (like paying their 'protectors'), but if the gang wouldn't let other gangs come in and trash their turf, why are they trashing their own turf? It makes no sense, and that's the whole, 'don't be a moron who thinks they're all that and makes idiotic decisions' thing.

Does that make a bit more sense?

BTW Hobbe- I'm an accountant in the closing crunch of tax season, so I might not have a character to you until the weekend. Hope that's ok? If not, let me know, but I thought we were starting on the fifth, so if you want to start the first, I'm going to have to rush. Just let me know what's up.
