Hi there.
Barring a few posts this week, I've been gone from Dumpshock for, like, a few years. Now I return to see all this SR4 hype and it makes my head spin. Which may relate to me trying to read the whole SR4-forum in one go. I failed. I used the search engine, but came up with no useful info so far. My question is: Will we finally know for sure whether we can have sex with our ally spirit? Maybe even more than one at a time? What ritual is needed? They said that magic would be changed, after all. Maybe Patrick can enlighten us on this point or maybe test it in play and report back. *g* |

This also raises questions about the future of Dikote and the AVS....

What, are you saying there have been no useful discussions about metahuman-ally spirit sexual intercourse? |

Do you think of terrestrial or astral love ???
for terrestrial, I should rely upon the spirit ability to find a medium like with possession, or to materialize. Important issue tho. doesn't people say love make all your dream come true ? (but even in dark sr world ???) |

Too bad spirit allies don't have the ability to possess, otherwise the spirit ally could possess it's owner and he could go .... himself. |

Personally, when having sex (wether human, spirit, plant or even one's own self) our rule is to roll and open success test (TN 4) on Quickness (it's defaulting to Sex but, no one has that skill, the TN for that would be 2 or 3) and the number of successes determines how well it worked.
0 successes: "Are you done yet?" 1 success: "Eh, it was alright..." 2-3 successes: "So, what are you doing tomorrow night?" 4 or more: "So, do you have anything planned for the next week?" those would be typical responses. In fact, My adept character had sex with a Free Forest Spirit (names ShadowFox, She has Human Form) the last time we ran. She got 5 successes, my character got 4. So, over all everyone had a good time. |

Look, rules for sex in game is like rules for hair color in game. I mean, if you want to have them, go for it, but I don't see the point, as both a at best plot hooks.
Look, a red head..look a blonde..Look I slept with the blond. Yes, plot hooks can end up being fun and interesting, but in these cases you should just use story to get the point across. Yes, you had fun, and he liked it to. Wait, he didn't like it. You wake up alone. In any case it should be up to the GM player and maybe to some small part the group. |

I kind of figured this topic was flypaper for jokes rather than posted out of a real desire for an official answer.
Not that this is a bad thing. |

RunnerPaul, I'd have to look the SSG up. Anyway, the best publication on those problems is the Complete Guide to Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. Everyone knows that. On the off-chance that you've never read it, you can get it here. :D |

Wrong. The best publication on these problems is stabbing yourself in the face. |

Wow. There are so many things that come to my mind when I read that, although taking Req's advice about stabbing myself in the face first is actually more preferrable to continuing to think about finishing the sentence, "Make me forget..." |

Well, I guess that if men could "stab themselves in the face", most of them would. :D

Seriously, though, Shadowpr0n is the most evil, disturbing thing one can do in this game. I'm as big a fan of sex and porn as probably anyone here, but I'd be more comfortable torturing babies in front of their parents than RP'ing that shit.

Crimsondude, I'm totally with you on that one. Well, one time, way back in our AD&D times, we actually used some of the rules to figure out how long my inocent thief could "last" with the drow priest. He'd be killed afterwards, so the others needed to know how long they had to come up with a rescue plan. But we didn't roleplay that. *g* But there sure is some interesting stuff in that book. For example, if smoking and alcohol are bad during pregnancy, what will repeated manaball-abuse do to the child?

What made that one so bad was the fact that there was a whole page of dice rolls for the sex.
