QUOTE (Shadow)
Society for Creative Anachronisms (or something)

They dress up in olden clothes and walk around speaking in old english. I can't remember if they are the branch that demands fanatical devotion to time period correctness.

"You can't use that rapier, it's 15th century, and your boots are 14th! Heretic!"

Or if there the guys who just have fun and just use whatever.

Shadow is correct we're the Society for Creative Anachronisms, we are research based middle/dark age reconstructionists. The crew I hang with are not period fanatics, I wear combat boots most of the time. No one actually talks in Olde English that I'm aware of mostly we get together and camp in period and party and fight.

What I primarily do is the combat. Its full contact, with rattan weapons instead of live steel, and real armor. It results in a lot of bruises and sore muscles, and I tend to exist on Advil after an event.

I had a weekend event and I'm eating Advil like they were M&Ms.

Plus, you're only at S as is, so don't worry about dying, at least not yet. I'd try to get at least 2 more successes if I were you, M is much easier to stomach.

Alright, I'll use some karma to re-roll my failures...

Reroll Body = 11, 11, 5, 4, 3

Wow! Probably the best roll I'll get in a while... :)

SR13 are you posting? Who are we waiting for?

It's obvious we're not going to finish this combat prior to my going on vacation this coming week. My wife has specifically forbidden me from bringing my notebook so I'm not going to have email access for awhile and I don't want this to wait on my return. Shadow or Bandit, the spoiler is for whichever one of you wants to run Erebus in my absence.

[ Spoiler ]

Above all Erebus is going to try not to die. I removed my armored vest so all the armor I'm wearing now is the Armored Jacket 5/3 over normal clothing. Erebus is not injured to this point.

This should give you enough data to be able to effectively run Erebus until I get back. I'll be available to post until Friday evening Pacific Time, then I'm outta here.

Shadow: I am not going to look at that spoiler. For all intents and purposes Erebus is your PC while he plays in ASVW, much as Virgil is your PC for the moment. If you'd like me to post for him I can always help take up the slack, but this is your call.

Erebus: Thanks for providing that information in the name of smooth game-play. I hope that your vacation is amazing. I wish you and your family safe travels.

Temporary Absence Announcement

Hey all,

This weekend starting at 4pm central time I will be headed to Indianapolis, IN to attend the wedding of a friend. I will be back early Sunday evening. If something vital happens in ASVW I believe that I will have internet access so I should not miss anything. Thanks everyone.

Enjoy your weekends!

SR13- Unless I'm mistaken (hope I'm not butting in Shadow) we're still waiting on you. Unless you roll again with karma, you've got an M wound and it's your action next. Am I correct on this Shadow?

Alright, burn Karma one more time...

Reroll again = 22, 5, 3 (holy jeebus...)

So, after this how much damage is Tenmou taking and what happens (is he knocked down, how close is the fragger who shot me, etc)

By way of trying to help keep things moving:

Base Gun Damage from Goon: 9M
+3 Power from Burst
+1 Damage Level from Burst
Modified Gun Damage from Goon: 12S
Goon Total Successes: 4 (because 4 successes would have been needed to dodge, hence 4 successes on ranged attack test)

SR13's Dodge Test: 1 success
SR13's Soak Test at TN 8 (12 - 4 [FFBA3: Ballistic 4] ): 4 successes
Total SR13 successes: 5

Net: SR13 +1 (4-5 = -1 in favor of SR13)

Not enough to stage down, result is base damage, for S wound. SR13 must also make a Knockdown test. Unfortunately, I don't have the knockdown test rules memorized, a little help someone?

After the knockdown test it will be SR13's turn to go, and he has just been whacked with an S wound, unless the resulting injury modifiers drop his turn order below someone else's. He also has a +3 modifier to all TNs, barring any injury compensation edges/cyber/bio.

If I recall correctly, Knockdown Tests are taken with Body versus half the power (full power in melee). A minimum number of successes are needed to remain standing. For S damage, I think 3 successes are required...

Body Test = 5, 5, 4, 2, 2, 2

My only unknown is whether or not the power the victim resists is the weapon's base power, or the power after modifiers.

If prone, is it a simple action for a character to pick themselves back up?

SR13- Simple action to stand up. I'm not sure about the power question, I looked it up but saw nothing conclusive, and asked Grendel to look into it.

Factor in power increases due to burst, full-auto, and specialty ammo before halving for knockdown. Knockdown will be against a 6 with 4 successes necessary to remain standing. Wound modifiers do not apply to this test.

All right, no successes then. SR13 it looks like Tenmou's down on the ground, you need a simple action with a Willpower (2) test modified by injury modifiers to stand.

Thanks Grendel.

Your action SR13.

Shadow- Hope I'm not stepping on your toes helping with the rules in your absence.

Down on the ground could be a good thing just now ... could mean the rest of the bullets go flying over your head :D

Hey, Shadow, feel better? and get back soon? A goon and a goy are getting real impatient to be taking their turns! It's been a miserable week all around, but it's just not the same without you :)

(Hmm ... that didn't come out quite the way it sounded in my head :wobble: )

Alright...

Willpower test (TN = 5) - 10, 4, 3, 3, 2

Tenmou will pick himself up and, if able, will try to disarm the guy who shot him (Tenmou has no weapons, since he really didn't want to provoke anyone...).

If I can't engage the shooter, he will find cover and check the level of injury he has taken.

Sorry for my absence guys, thanks to all the GMs who stepped in and made rulings and kept things going, well done.

[ Spoiler ]

SR13, you can easily run over and engage the guy, no problem. Give me some hand to hand rolls.

I am catching up now so forgive me if I missed something.

Karate Roll (no combat pool) = 17, 9, 3, 3, 2

If I can disarm him, good. If I can come up with his weapon, even better. :)

hehehehe . . . and then you would have the wacked-out burst fire Predator. Seeing unique weapons like that put into play reminds me of how fun it can be to play a street-sam.

"Say hello to my little friend . . ."

OK, I am done hijacking now . . . I just needed a mental break from work and happened to check LiTS.

Couple questions

1. Am I dealing with Vinnie's shot as well or just Goon B?

2. And if I am dealing with Vinnie, what happens if my double impact is greater than his power? Will his shots just bounce off?

3. What is BAL ammo and where is the reference? I can't find it in Cannon Companion or SR3.

Sorry, I thought I made that clear in the IC. You are only being hit by a Pred.

QUOTE

You can't reduce a TN below 2, so if you were (which your not) then your tn would be 2S.

QUOTE

Sorry again :) BAL ammo is short for Ballistic (its a Army thing I keep forgetting to not use) its the same as regular ammo.

One more question Shadow-

1. Is Goon B firing his Ares Predator on BF, or just SA?

From the description 9S with 3 successes, I'm reading it as being a basic Ares Predator (9M), that was staged up to 9S because of the successes, NOT from BF or any other intrinsic quality that raised the damage level to S, correct? That's a two success difference I would need to stage to nothing, so it matters a lot as far as combat pool allocation.

In other words, it's basically 9M with 3 successes to stage up, NOT 9S with 3 successes to stage up, correct?
