My bad Cedric, the armor stages the power down; you'll roll body to soak, or you can dodge.

In this case, the TN (using the armor you listed) is down to 2. My apologies, and no karma is needed (yet). If you want to dodge, you'll be looking at a TN of 5, with two success necessary.

I'm going to wait to get that sorted out before the remaining goons go.

edit:

and the scanner sweep was primairly look up the street.. the other side of all those goons... right?

Sorry 'bout that. You really don't see anything else out there, other than a couple of devil rats and some stray dogs.

Hate to screw a fellow player again, but my GM duites require it. Cedric's armor is only 7, not 9 BC. The armor jacket is 5, and the second armor (armor vest with plates) adds only HALF (round down) its ballistic and impact armor ratings, which in this case would be 4/2 = 2, for a total of 5 + 2 = 7.

And, for every point that the Ballistic or Impact armor (in this case, 7 for Ballistic) is above Erebus's quickness, it's a cumulative +1 penalty to all quickness related tests and -1 Quickness for the purposes of determining movement.

On top of all that, for every 2 points of impact and ballistic greater than your quickness, it's -1 to Combat Pool.

Did everyone follow all that?

Sorry Cedric...GM duties called again...

Aye bossman. EDIT: See Ronin's post below. No quickness penalties from armor though.

err just a rules check.

HK SMGs have a base damage of 7S
3 round burst kicks it up to 10D
ex explosive gives +2 to power giving 12D for the damage code to resist.

with armor 7 you get target number of 5.
one success so everything beyond that stages... from D...

or you can dodge, TN 5, 2 successes required.

You can do it Cedric, I believe in you!

edit: ah, sorry bc, don't mean to be contradicting the gm, was just checking the rules.

<flips thru pages...> yep, 'Ronin's right. Again, my apologies. Adjusted TN is at 5D.

And no problem at all with checking it.

Sorry, am Dodging as we speak:

Combat pool (6):

02, 04, 05, 05, 08, 10

Oh, hey guys, don't ever worry about correcting me on the rules. I'm more into the role playing than the rules and I'm one of those gamers who has no problem killing off a character, otherwise its just not realistic.

Besides, bullets slide off me like I was teflon coated. :D

Successful Dodge! I'll write up the remaining goons actions, then it'll be Erebus's turn on the second initiative pass.

You heard Cedric BC. You better throw all the bullets his way, just to ensure that some of them stick. :D

Okay, now wait a minute, maybe I spoke a little too quickly.

Lets try this:

Erebus dodges away from the bullets, barely escaping with his life, and immediately falls to his knees thanking [Insert name of various deities] and kindly, non-hostile GMs. :D

Ok, here we go:

-Goon1's firing at Erebus; Base TN is 4 (short range at this point), +4 for attacker running, +2 for defender running, +2 for low light, -2 for Smartlink, +3 for burst, -3 for recoil comp. Adjusted TN is 10.

Rolling: 5, 4, 1, 3. Unsuccessful.

-Goon3's gunning for Virgil. Base TN is 5 (medium range), +2 for low light, +2 for defender running. Adjusted TN is 9

Rolling: 17, 7, 4, 1, 4. One success. Bandit, roll me some body against 9S damage (7S normal, +2 for Ex-Ex ammo).

I'll update the map and repost it by 5 CDT. Erebus is up on 15 on the second pass.

Okay, all of you people who comprise my Small Unit Tactics Skill, what's the best way to handle this? Virgil's obviously in trouble, the opposition is operating under the "Geek the magician first" rule of battle and he's caught in the open. I can hang tight and fire on the prone gunman but is that the best way to clear Virgil?

Advise is appreciated troops.

Oh, and by the way Bandit, if Virgil would like to borrow some of my teflon he's welcome. :D

Gesh. . . not like I could deny that this would happen. But at least we can be mostly consoled by the thought that it is not likely that a fireball will follow the impact of that missle.

Before I roll and seal my likely fate. Does Virgil's use of the free action in order to drop prone occur in time to raise the goon's TN? Sorry to bug you BC, just trying to save my RPing skin :-P

uhh, I don't <flies off bridge>

EDIT: Sure, we can say that Virgil's prone. I'll even add the +8 Blind fire mod for being covered by the wall. Still got one success to deal with, but the wall's a rating 6 barrier. Reduces the power down to 3.

It shouldn't be a remote problem Bandit. Just dodge. All you need is one success.

The TN is base 4

+1 burst,
+2 for injury mods (I think you have a moderate stun?)

For a 7, effectively 6. And you need one success. Should be no problem to make at all.

And BC, what are you doing GMing still? Shouldn't Shadow be our GM again now that you've flown off the bridge? ;)
