Actually, it's just a single shot, but the TN to dodge is still 7 (Base of 4 plus injury mods). I'm showing Virgil at a Serious stun (Light from the attempted Astral Projection, plus Moderate from the powerbolt from hell he just threw).

And I'm GM'ing from the bottom of a chasm. Spent a point of Edge and got caught by a branch on my way down.

Wait...Light is at most 2 boxes, if you add a Moderate on top of that (3 boxes) the most he could be at is 5 boxes. How does he breach the threshold then into 6, which is a Serious? Just asking, I can't see your records, but from what you said, it's not possible for him to be at a Serious.

Blasphemer! We have not yet crossed the line into the uncharted waters of SR 4! There IS NO EDGE!!! You are still falling to your doom, and have only deluded yourself into believing that you have spent a point of edge! Saving throw vs. Spell to disbelieve! Mwahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahha!

Got back home and looked at my cheat sheet...yep, he's at 4 (1 from the astral thing +3 boxes from powerbolt). So at a moderate stun so far, with the attending +2 penelties. Dodge TN is at 6 (4+2), and even if you don't make it you still only have a 3S to soak.

And I'm really liking Edge so far... (and doesn't that D20 stuff give you cancer or something? :) )

Carry on.

EDIT: Map is up for Round 2. From the best I can tell, this is where everyone is. Everyone not pictured is still in the bar. Let me know if your character isn't where you think they are.

That is indeed the question (says your GM) :vegm:

Ok...<don's headset and Howard Cosell wig> 'We're being informed that Virgil is now at 7 boxes of stun. Let's return to the action down on the field...'

Dodge TN is 7, and Virgil is at a Serious stun so far. And no, I don't know what the hell is going on either. Nor do I want to.

...turn out the lights,
the party's over...

The goons bullets are actually not the worst issue for Virgil right now, not nearly as severe as the diminishing returns that have taken ahold of his magic capability. I have spoken many a time on unique ways to hammer magical characters . . . so my paranoia is on a high level . . . . thanks Sedna :)

Actually, between guessing about this strange affliction and seeing all the goofy comments that get thrown into this OOC, ASVW has become a high point in some of the particulary bad days at work.

Thanks to all!

And now to Virgil's dodge test. Four combat pool dice will be used so that some are in reserve for a soak test.

07, 02, 02, 01

Looks like Erebus's last teflon treatment spilled over onto Virgil . . . let me know if the TN changes and I still need to throw in the soak roll.

Good dodge; you don't have to soak anything and are clear. And we'll be here all week; be sure to tip your waitress.

Cedric: Erebus is up on 15.

For Round 2

I'd like to say it's times like these I'm glad I'm just your average, ordinary, mundane individual with absolutely nothing special about him whatsoever that should cause anyone to pay any particular attention to him. See, you're bored just reading this, aren't you? :)

Are we waiting on me for anything else, or are we just waiting on the actions of Erebus?

And would this be the same completely mundane individual that is bravely running away right now? :rotfl:

Exactly! He's doing what any normal person would do in this situation. Running away from the conflict towards his vehicle! So there's absolutely no reason they would mistake him for anything but an ordinary civilian in the wrong place at the wrong time, and thus have no reason to shoot at him. :grinbig:

Okay so I'm just going to post my action at this point then right?

Erebus will be firing off two rounds at the Goon 3 guy as per our last discussion of tactics.

Shot 1: Pistols 6 + 1 Enhanced Articulation
02, 02, 03, 03, 04, 04, 15

Shot 2: Pistols 6 +1 Enhanced ARticulation

01, 01, 01, 03, 04, 04, 14

And I'd like to point out that Erebus will soon be utterly surrounded and shot to pieces if I don't get some help soon.

BC are there any windows or doorways near Erebus' present position?

You'll get one hit apiece (TN is 9). You're shooting standard ammo, right?

Rolling body for Goon3 (Armor is 5 Ballistic), soak TN is 4 (Guardian is shooting 9M): 5, 7, 2, 10. Stages it down to a Light Physical on the first shot.

Second Shot: 7, 3, 5, 10. Another Light, Goon3 is at Moderate wound status overall (4 boxes).

The windows and doors are boarded up on the building you're running toward. You'll actually reach the building by the end of this initiative pass.

Temmou is up on 13. The grenade goes off next on Dragon's turn, right after Temmou

wow, the rocket hasn't even gone off yet... man the effect of cyber enhanced reflexes is truly unreal...

Since I am about to step through the back door, could you tell me the layout of the alleyway, or whatever is behind the bar?

Just so I can make an informed IC post about his actions once he's stepped out of the threshold...

'Ronin: You can use free actions now (Observe, Speak). No monologues, but you can get a some words off with the transducer setup. You see Goon2 running toward the back of the building Erebus is running toward.

SR13: Out the back is an alleyway. You see a few dumpsters; it smells like week-old beer and rotting food. There's a streetlight on your right at the end of the alley; you don't see anyone there. To the left looks darker, but also appears to be clear. You can Observe in Detail for a simple action; roll me some pereception if you want that option.

Nah, Tenmou is more interested in aiding his comrades with a nice surprise attack... :)

Just in case you need it...

Stealth Test = 5, 4, 4, 4, 1

Perhaps you can feel in what Tenmou can see from his vantage point and if an enemy is visible, how far away he is, etc (and whether I've used his full initiative action).

You've got a simple action left. You see, from the alley (facing down on the map): the bright blur of what looks like a rocket motor speeding across your vision. Erebus is visiable in the wake of the rocket, against the building across the street.

Roll me some perception if you want to know more. You're at the end of your movement for this initiative pass, but you've got one more left before we roll again.

I hate to say this people but Erebus' small unit tactics skill really failed him on this one. Does anyone else realize that I have managed to turn my back on the ONLY bad guy still with actions left? Exactly why did I decide to do this again?

BC approve how big is the building Erebus is sheltering behind? 20x20 40x30 etc? I'm trying to decide if the bad guy will make it around the building and have shots left at my back this round?

Of course the evil GM would just post IC the results and let me sweat it out. :(

Ah, you've got a free action: the building looks to be about 10m wide by 20m deep. And I did post a map, btw ;)

You do notice a form moving behind the building that Erebus is up against, but you can't make out any details.

Dragon is up on 13; grenade is going off as you make your actions.

Alright winterrat, it's time for Dragon to step in and save the day. Or at least manage to prevent Erebus from getting shot up in a cross-fire, all while managing to prevent Virgil, who now has a target painted on his chest, from getting dropped next turn . . . .

You can do it! :)
