X-Men and all related trademarks are registered by the Marvel Corporation, then and now, no true infringement meant.

If you could take a group of X-Men from comics, TV, movies (any continuity or time period as long as you specified which [heh maybe mixed and matched]) and strand them in the world of Shadowrun (pick a date if ya like) with or without any clue of how to get back, who would you pick and why?

For me, Nightcrawler is a definite must as his teleporting (bampfing) powers will make mincemeat out of most security plans and safes, and he stands a decent chance of finding a girlfriend as his tail and hands aren't that... strange. ('Course the nurse he's currently with is hot :) ) Give him a dikoted sword or two and he'll be happy, not to mention that the local church may even be welcoming.

I'd love Storm, White Queen, Gambit, Bobby and Nightcrawler for a streetside Shadowrun and Wolverine, Colossus, Kitty, Cyclops and Rogue for an Underworld Politics Shadowrun :) I'll give my favorites list and reasons later, what's your input?

Heh, if they can survive not only Star Trek but their everyday lives they stand a chance at anything.

Not to mention Spiderman. Dropping him in solo, next to the toppled Space Needle, without explanation and seeing him take it from there would be awesome (IMHO) :)

First off Spidey rules. He would do well in SR.

As for my Xmen team,

Cyclops
Jean
Colossus
Shadowcat
Lockheed
Nightcrawler
and reluctantly Wolverine

As much as I am a fan of Wolvie and the (Comic) Rogue:

Politics and those two are like Microsoft Works!

Now, if you need a Skyscraper demolished or so...

Other than that, I'd Choose:

Attack team:

Rogue
Wolverine
Cyclops
Colossus

Backstab team:

Shadowcat
Storm
Phoenix
Psylocke

Entertainment / Distraction

Gambit
Emma Frost

hmm, thats the classical one that did the rebirth of x-men after the one with the non-feral beast, iceman and angel.

only ones missing is rogue and storm...

Any comic at all:
Jenny Sparks (Authority)
Jack Hawksmoor (Authority)
The Drummer (Planetary)

Just those three alone would be hysterically funny in Shadowrun's world.

X-characters: Pryde and Wisdom. I'm a big fan of the Pete/Kitty dynamic, and I think their skills and powers would be interesting in the SR universe.

Hmm... I think it is perhaps no coincidence that two of my favourite comics characters - Pete Wisdom and Jenny Sparks - were both created by Warren Ellis :)

Heh. Spiderman would be awesome to drop into SR. Simply because of how he would react to the mere existance of Z-zones.

Of course, given that some of his bigger foes (Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, and Doctor Octopus) are best classified as street samurai, he might not be able to make much of a difference. :(

ahhh.... so... they have her turn into diamond and sell her to rich hungry fanboys every time the x-mansion gets destroyed then? I can see how that contributes to the team as a whole. :wobble:

The X-team I'd want would be X-Force from back in the day, when it was:
Cable
Domino
Shatterstar
Siren
Boomer
Cannonball
Warpath
And my personal fav.

hehe, I can just imagine Wolverine trying to make it in Shadowrun.

Wolvie: I'm the best there is at what I do, eh.
Fixer: Riiiiight. Gotcha, and what's that? Need to know for the job offers, you see.
Wolvie: Uhh. I'm pretty good at fighting and killing people.
Fixer: Ah, combat specialist. Adept, Street Sam or combat magician?
Wolvie: Uhh...
Fixer: Street Sam. Weapon of Choice?
Wolvie: Well, I got these claws, eh. And these metal bones.
Fixer: Ah, bone lacing and a nifty set of spurs. Yeah, my cousin got that, too. But that's really nothing special, or really spectacularly useful except for getting caught at every MAD system you walk through, what else you got?
Wolvie: Nothing special? Uh.. I got a healing factor, so I heal injuries real quick.
Fixer: Ah, symbiotes! Nanite or bioware version? No, don't answer that, let's leave you with some mystique. Anything else?
Wolvie: Well... I... ummm... I have enhanced feral senses?
Fixer: You see that guy over there? Yeah, he's got those too, AND he can put his fist through a concrete wall. Try a little harder.
Wolvie: Crazy ninja skills?
Fixer: If I had ten nuyen for every wannabe runner that told me they had crazy ninja skills and then got downed by the first street punk packing a manabolt spell, I'd be doing something other than fixing by now. Go back to mommy, kid, you're obviously not cut out for the biz.
Wolvie: What? But I'm... Wolverine!

Sharaloth:

Actually, someone did that awhile back.

Their spin on Wolverine was as follows:

Metatype: Dwarf (Okay, at 5' 3" and approximately 300 pounds (about 160 without the Adamantium) in the comics, he'd be too tall for a Dwarf--in that case, make him a short Human. :))
Class: Bioware Mercenary/Street Samurai

Bioware/Cyberware: Guardian Angel symbiotes, Toxin Extractors, Boosted Reflexes, Titanium Steel Bone Lacing, Dikoted Triple Spurs (both hands); Senseware augmentations (eyes--thermographic/ultraviolet/low-light/telescopic vision; ears--high-and low-frequency), enhanced senses of taste, smell, and touch.

Languages: R/W: English (U.S./Canadian): 6/6
French: 4/4
Japanese: 5/5

Martial Arts: Cyberware combat: 6 (or whatever it's called... ;))
Ninjitsu: 6
Iaijutsu/Kenjutsu: 6/6

That's the gist of it. I'm afraid that I can't recall all of the information, and I think the site where I found it is gone.

Cable. Oooh, yeaaah. Big guns, cyberware, and psychic powers. Gambit would make a good covert-ops spec, and then you throw in Forge as a rigger/decker type, Jean Grey as a pure psychic, and few others for flavor or heavy-fire support, maybe a few people who can shoot energy beams and the like.

A great team (non X-Men) to Port would be the 'New Warriors'. Hell they pretty much are Shadowrunners to begin with.

Nova
Namorita
Speedball
Justice
Firestar
Night Thrasher
Rage

Thats pretty much the original team. They have a new team now thats just Nita, Speedball, Thrash and some other guy.

But what about Dazzler? She can change sound to light!!

Yeah, that's a joke, unless you're playing SR1 where Rockers still exist.

I'm gonna take not just from the X-men, but from all around the Marvel universe. Here's my picks:

Street Sam #1 - The Silver Samurai - why not? He's already got the name. Probably not the greatest scrapper ever (he's melee only), but I think he's the coolest. He'd probably be an adept in SR.

Street Sam #2 - Domino - hot chick (you could always use an extra one of those), can handle herself, many useful skills including excellent ranged combat, stealth, small unit tactics, probably demolitions as well.

Magic - Dr. Strange. A hermetic all the way but it just doesn't get any better than this guy when it comes to mystical powers and metaphysical/thaumaturgical knowledge.

Decker/Rigger - I'd go with Forge, also. A mutant ability for a variety of B/R skills is a huge bonus.

Face - Mystique. Nothing better than a true shapeshifter who has no moral dilemmas. She's a little bit nutty nowadays as I understand it, but back in the day she was damn good at what she did.

Hell, the Doctor would be hilarious in Shadows.

Ya'll got my going through my brother's comics. He'll be thrilled about this :P
Anyway I'm going to revise my team.
Cable- Sam#1
Domino- Adept or Sam#2
Kane- Sam#3
Grizzly- Sam#4
White Queen- Psychic/mage
Post Phalanx Professor- AI/Decker

Now I realize I'm awfully muscle heavy, but Cable and Kane could help Professor with decking duties, and one could probably be a rigger, I seem to remember one doing something like that. If Cable still has Greymalkin who needs a rigger?
