Here's the LINK on Barnes & Noble's website. Yes, this may be old info, but I had to post it here. If this needs to be moved to another sector, I'm fine with it.

So they're starting over from #1 now and forgetting all the old ones? Too bad there's no fluff on what precisely the novel is about yet (or did I simply miss the summary?)

Born to Run is part 1 of a trilogy by Steve Kenson, that was originally based on SR Duels. It's already been published awhile back in German. From what I understand it's about a newbie runner (Kellan Colt) and her introduction to the shadows. |

I'd still pick up all the previous novels, Dashifen. Most of them are still quite good. And thanks for the blurb, Winterhawk11. :biggrin: |

Actually, I think I have most of them, but I keep looking since you can't find shadowrun novels anywhere else with any regularity.

Try Ebay, or put the word out here which novels you're looking for. There's a complete list HERE.

I could have sworn there was a time when Shadowrun was all about the battle between bad and worse, but on the other hand the novels never did seem to reflect this (at least not the ones I read). |

At least we're not going to be seeing a 40 yr old Talon bemoaning the loss of his lover ... again. Aracos was cool though.
Winterhawk, any plans to write anything beyond the fiction in the BBB Lim Ed.? |

From your mouth to God's (or in this case, WizKids's) ear! :) Seriously, I'd love to write an SR novel if they'd let me. But there are 6 books coming out first (3 from Steve Kenson, 3 from other authors). If they succeed I hope WizKids might consider proposals from new authors, but who knows? |

Hopefully. I've read Kenson's stuff, and while it was good, I never considered it great. I'm not really thrilled about book number... what is it, 7 (?) from him. I've seen his point of view on SR. I'd like a change. Just my 2 :nuyen:

Query, who would you write to to get a book published under the SR title? Roc? WizKids? Would you send a finished manuscript?

I honestly have no clue. WizKids, I guess? I don't think they are going through FanPro US at all.

True, and I've known of him since the days we were working on a SR-themed APA 'zine back in the mid & late 90's. I've read a lot of his gaming stuff (mostly for SR, yes, but a few other articles, the titles of which escape me at the moment) but you have to admit he's held his own against a lot in the ever changing game publishing world. At least he tries to keep in within the genre. |

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to bad mouth him or anything. I'd just like to see something different.
For example, I like some of the random seeming but very interesting pieces of cyberware Lisa Smedman puts into her books. Who knows, it's been a while since I read something new from him, so maybe it will be different. But I don't expect it to be so. I'd just like to see some other voices heard. He just seems so..... staple (?) |

That information looks about right. AFAIK there aren't any new contracts for SR novels being issued at the moment, but you can always get on Sharon's radar screen for whatever the future may bring. It might be better to make a quick query to Sharon at the moment instead of sending in a full-blown proposal. Jason H. |

At the "What's up with FanPro" seminar yesterday, they had an overview of the 6 new novels, including a intro to the novels from of the authors. We also announced www.holostreets.com a fiction & source based site from the people who make www.battlecorps.com. They'll be more info soon, but basicly Sharon from WizKids said that just as BattleCorps serves as the farm team now for MechWarrior authors, Holostreets is sure to serve as a farm team for the Shadowrun novels. We'll get submission guidelines up soon with a static site. |

Copied this from Gaming Report about the new novels coming out;
Sharon Mulvihill from Wizkids announced the return of the Shadowrun fiction line. Steve Kenson will start off this line with a full trilogy, taking readers along with a relatively new Shadowrunner to introduce the setting. Jason Hardy, John Helfers and Jean Rabe, and Stephen Dedman will round out the first six books with separate novels. The timeline will not mesh with the current SR4 release, although future volumes will tie in more closely with the game line. Some advanced preview copies {were?} available in a trivia contest of the old Shadowrun novels. The authors in attendance gave plenty of spoilers on the books in production. The current titles of the trilogy are Born to Run, Poison Agendas, and Fallen Angels. The individual novels are not entirely far enough along for finished working titles. Interested fans missed out on far more detail on all but the sixth book, but no spoilers will be given here {in the article}. |
