That didn't really get fixed. They just changed the minimum force and wrecked a bunch more things.

The closer I look, the less I think I'll want to play SR$.

I really have been trying to pay attention, however without a book, I bet I'm not the best source.

As far as I can tell, all they did with magic was tone it down (finally), and unify the rules, like they promised they would do. It doesn't seem that drastically different.

I mean, now summoning and banishing are sperate skills.

Binding is new, but really what is wrong with it?

As far as spellcasting goes, the whole concept of "Target,cast,drain" seems to be there, only better.

As far as traditions go, they are giving us much greater room for traditions which seems to be what most of the changes to magic are for.
