Didn't see you there last Sat. We could still use another player or two every other Saturday if you're still interested. Next game should be Feb 11.

There's a DnD minis tournament at other realms this Sat that I'll be playing in. It is supposed to end at 6pm. So we'll start as soon as I get some dinner after the tournament.

I just checked the winter fantasy schedule... I thought it was next weekend, but it is the weekend after. I haven't decided if I'm going to go yet because the event I want to participate in most is currently sold out, so I'd be attending in hopes that someone who signed up decided not to get up early enough on a saturday morning to make the 8 a.m. start time (the event is pre-registered, but not prepaid, so I suspect a lot of people signed up just in case they decided to go).

Anyways, the relevance of this is, that I don't feel its fair to not tell you I might not be there during our next session. I might be able to make both events (Winter fantasy and our game), but again, its not fair to you to ask you to show up if I'm not sure I will.

I just wanted to let you know ahead of time so you have time to make your own plans if you decide not to show up. Just let me know if you do get alternate plans sometime before Saturday morning so I know if I need to try and make it back in time for our game.

The event I'm hoping to participte in should end by two or three o'clock, so I might be a little late, but I'll be there.

See you all tomorrow.

You wouldn't happen to be looking for another player, would you? I used to play a while back (second edition) and just got fourth. Looking to get into a game and always preferred face to face instead of on-line games.

New players welcome damaleon.

Next meeting is the 25th, I believe, and another player or two would be welcome.

For a character, make a 300 pt. character with the following rule changes/additions: No flaws that would make military life noticeably difficult or would get you weeded out of a military program early (i.e. no drug addictions), no skill above 4, no more than a couple BP spent on gear (your gear is issued), add the following skills (for free): dodge 4, perception 4, escape artist 2, Athletics group 4 and Survival group 2. ADDITIONALLY, each character is a super soldier, to simulate this, each character may purchase 400,000 nuyen worth of bioware (except for bone density and enhanced articulation) for which he suffers no essence loss (track the normal essense loss for future use). (Also, if you have 5,000 or more nuyen left after buying all the bioware you want, add a build point somewhere else, or if your bioware list comes up 5,000 Nuyen over the limit, spend a build piont here for another 5,000 nuyen). No cyberware to start the game.

NEXT, advance your character: To catch up, you get 90 karma to spend on attributes, combat/magical skills, the assensing skill (if youhave astral perception) and up to one grade of initiation (masking is the only metamagic available to characters at this point, that limit will change as the campaign continues).

*** Make up two characters***

THE STORY SO FAR
The characters are all super soldiers, and teenagers at that. Your two characters have recently been reassigned to a new team (the team composed of the other characters). You were raised by and work for the Aztlan government (and have been taught to only believe good things about the government, but your opinions MAY HAVE changed a little bit recently). You've had some very brutal, but effective training, and in your few missions, been ordered to kill a few people (decide why you've been reassigned, maybe the rest of your team just got killed on a mission).

Does anyone else have anything they'd like to add to the story?

So far, the team is highly magical (2 mages, 2 adepts, 2 gunmen for the PCs, and 2 NPC mages). The In-game date is late 2055 (your bioware is the newest technology, and it wasn't implanted in you, it was part of genetic modification).

If you're still interested after all that, I hope you join us next time.

Later
S'Ren

Sounds good to me. I read the rest of the posts so I am assuming the game is at Other Realms. Can you e-mail me the time, or post it here? My e-mail is damaleon at hotmail.com

One quick question though, while I know the bioware from the 400k will not actually affect essence, is it still available in standard through deltaware (with the incurred cost) or just standard?

Sure, you can buy high-grade bioware. As for time, I try to be there by 4pm, but I haven't made it the last two games. I want to always start by 6pm, try to get there early if you have some downtime issues (or character creation issues) to deal with.

Everyone ready for this Saturday? There's a mini's tournament this weekend, so I'll be there, but occupied until five or six o'clock, so we'll start after the tournament is over.

As for the story, now you've run away, so what's next. Now you guys control the action... Which way do you run? How do you get food and shelter? More importantly, how's your ammo supply?

I'll be there too, and i have the list of salvaged gear. ammo wise, we had enough for each character to have a slivergun and extra 1 clip (11 guns with varied ammo left, 10 spare clips) ammo from our original weapons (probably 3 reloads per gun each) 3 heavy machineguns with gyro harnesses and 5 APDS round 100 rnd. belts between them, and 5 AK97's from the attackers.

So those that get a chance to check before gametime, here is the full salvage from the firefight I have written down:

5 Walther sniper rifles (8/10m) (2 are damaged from falls) and 150 rounds for reloads
11 Ares Sliverguns (varies/30c) with 10 extra clips
1 Ares Preadator IV (15/15) with 2 spare clips (may have to ditch, was instructor's) and it has been wrapped in the stripped armor incase it has a smartgun system
3 Heavy Machine Guns with Gas Vent 3 and Gyro Harnesses (varies/100belt)
5 APDS 100 round belts for HMGs
10 human sized Armored Jackets
3 troll sized Armored Jackets
10 Machetes
14 Commlinks (need to work on them before we can use them)
5 AK97s (varies/38c) didn't specify how many spare clips, would assume 1-2 per gun
13 HE grenades
3 Riot Shields (in addition to the 2 we started with)
The Elf chick's body, with a Necklace
My guy's clean out the instructor's body for a staff, jewelry, credsticks, and teweled dagger

we also have our old armor that is now unpowered, 7 or 8 bikes we may have to ditch or modify to remove tracking systems, and a bunch of useless weapons to dump since we can't quickly disable there wireless smartgun systems (could blind the camera's but would still be traceable)

For those there before Sren's ready, we can divy up the stash

so we all get a slivergun /spare clip machette non working radio and armor
diamond doesnt need anything else but horizon wants a walther AND an hmg since he will put them to the best use

3 possible courses of action i can think of

1 hold up in the woods
2 make it to populated areas
3 follow the people who came for the orb

I have a one that can use a HMG and my other is able to put a Walther to use. That still leave all 5 AK97s for others, which we probably have the most ammunition for (30 to 40 clips)

I would think option 3 might be our best bet. With a decent bit of luck and some sniping we could end up with new transportation and mabye a path out of the area.

I see two possible courses of action:

1) plan revenge against Aztechnology;

2) flee Aztlan.

If you want option 1, then you might want allies like the dragon that stole the orb. Course there is a good chance that she will be pissed because we stole the orb from her first. Plus, we killed a few of her henchmen. We can tell her that our instructors made us do it, and she will understand. Right? Then again, maybe the orb wasn't the dragon's in the first place, and stealing it from the real owners just made it easier for her to get it. Then we just have to worry about the buddies of the dead.

I vote for option two. I hear Seattle is nice this time of year, and there are no jungles where electronics don't work. I understand that it is a long walk. hmm....

C.R. and I were discussing what to do next, especially after we get out of Aztlan.

Running the border and soon would probably be best, but we should ditch the guy the truck before we give away where we will try and cross. Using Influence to keep him from contacting the authorities (make him think they would be very angry that he didn't contact them by now) and to use him as a false lead, maybe even make him thing running the border is in his best interest, using him as a diversion. If we try to steal any military vehicles and cross, we will probably be attacked by the military on the other side, so we should avoid that. The Texas border away from cities may be easiest, but we may not have enough resources to survive for long after we cross. Crossing near San Diego and finding foreign runners and fixers might be our best bet. Finding foreign fixers would probably be our best bet for getting contacts that won't turn us in (at least not as fast).

Once we cross, or possibly before, we might make some cash by collecting on paranimal bounties, or any other bounties we find out about. They could very easily, and likely in some cases, pay in certified credsticks. With some cred and the gear we have collected, we can get the SINs we have to have to survive. With the military build up around San Diego, it might actually easier for a small group on bikes to get through, as they might be focusing on CalFree forces to only use large vehicles to protect their troops. Of course, if we end up fighting, it might be 100 to 1 odds, and we don't have the ammo for that.

Another possibility is helping once we get across the border is helping a gang make a name for itself to gain some street cred and make some contacts, but will expose us more than bounty hunting might.

To get back to crossing the border for a bit: I don't think crossing it will be all that difficult. If we attack a small outpost, we can probably expect under twenty targets total, including spirits on hand, drones, and soldiers. If they sound an alarm though, we would only have minutes to finish it and get away, and it may alert the folks on the other side. Our best bet may be to take the time to summon (and bind if we can get the materials to do it) a couple air and earth spirits to aid our crossing, using concealment powers (or sustaining an improved invisibility spell) to hide us from cameras and other sensors and cause a localized seismic disturbance to disrupt any pressure sensors.

Anyway, its late, so I am going to crash.

Karma for last game: 1 (survival) + 1 (goal met, getting a car). Plus the usual 40 for cenematic growth. (the 40 points can only be spent on skills/attributes you used last session).

If you guys want to use this board or email to do some IC planning, you can get another point or two for coming up with a good plan or two in character to meet your goals (you only get the award for group plans you actually end up using).

Remember, you have more than a week still, so don't be afraid to throw out ideas before trying to agree on what plan(s) to work on.

Sren, before we get to the next game, got a couple of questions:

1. Can I interrogate the ganger and use it to gain one point in "aztlan street gangs" (spending some karma for the knowledge skill) and maybe "illegal drugs"?

2. I want to take the personal computer of the guy we who's van we took. with my skills I should be able to alter any tracable parts once I have access to a proper electronics kit. It should have some common use programs at low levels and it might be useful in basic matrix searches.

3. Is there any way to access the matrix from the van, say at a rest stop or store?
