oooooo... a Cab Driver contact. Good one! I'll have to remember that for other characters.
Bearclaw: You may not want to go with a Tux, but just a nice bussiness suit. Most corp'ers don't go to work in a Tux. Plus I'm pretty sure more armor can be worked into a suit than a tux.

Actually I think they provide a good foil for eachother. They are both highly charismatic and strong willed. They just see things VERY differently.

I guess that's 1/4 services used for the spirit. Pili's looking for any type of weakness in external magical security (or physical for that matter if it jumps out at him). He'll note locations of watchers or bound elementals (cringe!) as well as any other type of magical security (guardian vines, wards, barriers, etc.).

Does the novatech building have a public section or is it all private/residential kinda stuff. What I mean is will I be able to go in and wander around the bottom floors of the building and see what kind of stuff is on the inside or will I have to sneak past guards?

The only public areas are the grounds themselves and the lobby. There is no sign of foot patrols of the grounds, but that may just be during the daytime.

I've always thought Physical Mask was one of the most necessary spells for any non-combat type mage. And even a combat one because it's a full multi-sense illusion and it has a nice easy +1M drain IIRC. Great spell.
Bearclaw
Apr 2 2004, 04:44 PM
For a combat, team oriented mage, I prefer trid phantasm. But physical mask and vehicle mask are also VERY abusable.
Add those 3 together with invisibility and you can pretty much do anything a D&D illusionist can do with his entire arsenal of spells.

Fast Talk Roll for the Officer: 11 05 03 01
Remember, I have one stun wound from light conjuring drain so what ever TN that you feel I should have on the Fast Talk test is +1.
Also, can I give mental commands to spirits or must they be spoken? I can't find anything in SR3 or MITS that refers to how spirits can be requested to perform services.

Hello

I'm not sure how to handle the contact interaction. As I don't know how many success I'll get or what they know, I'm kind of lost as to how to have a conversation.
I'd be fine if the GM did the rolls off line, and gave me a synopsys of what I found out from who.

Digital Heroin
Apr 8 2004, 07:47 PM
Alright, curse my brain for complaceny... it's time to kick this party back into gear. Pili's going to be let go from the scene, the KE officer's more concerned with the impending fight than keeping "her" there.
In order to kick things up a notch, I'm going to need some OOC info from everyone.
I need:
Which contacts you'll be calling;
What line of questioning you want to pursue with them;
Any favors you'll offer to them, bribes, etc. (upkeep, though it's not needed yet, it may bring a favorable reaction); and
An appropriate Etiquitte roll for each contact.
I'm going to pull a krishcane on this one, and go cinematic for legwork, if needed we'll do two rounds of it, but this should hasten the pace of the game.

QUOTE (Bearclaw) |
After getting Norman to pick them up in his cab, Manny will stop by the closest place to buy any designers version of the Aramente armored suit. If he's gonna try to play corporator, he should at least look like a successful one. Then, it's south to Payalup and Madam Mei's. After that, it's over to Lucy's (my fixer) and then out to Underworld 93, where anywhere between 1 and 4 of my contacts will be. Lastly, out to Tacoma to talk to Dante, my former mage detective buddy. We can work Tristans contacts into that however is necessary. |
I think you've got my .sr3, so you've got all the info on these guys. If not, I'll send you the details.
Dante. As a trusted friend, Dante gets the full run-down, in case I get into trouble, or disappear. Then I ask if he knows anything about our boy or if there's any current buzz about Novatech's matrix division.
Everyone else, I flash a picture, and ask if they've ever seen the guy. If that gets me anywhere, I'll go with it. If not, I'll ask about Novatech. After, I'll talk about Lone Star and Ares, to try to muddy the waters a little.
Everyone gets an offer of a beer or a doughnut, whichever is appropriate. I plan on shooting pool at the Underworld for a couple of hours with my chummers, and get the conversation in that way. If there's a twinkle of knowledge when they say they don't know anything, I suggest that there could be a price attached if they have any info
Between the cab ride, Madam Mei's and Underworld 93, I should be able to catch most of my contacts. The others, most likely Walter and Neil, I'll stop by their regular places of business.
Etiquette/Street checks:

Pili's good to go for this one. He's just going to head back to the hotel, walking this time. He'll drop the spell in an alley or something well out of sight of the KE officer. Then, he'll dismiss both spirits and head back to the hotel to describe the information that he got on the external security and what he saw in the lobby and the fact that there seems to be KE security on site
kevyn668

Still waiting for the car, but once he gets that Tristan will drive around so he can call his fixer and then place a call to his contact in KE.
From the fixer (Maggie) he's looking for two things. 1) has there been any successful extractions from that facility in the past, the runners that did it, and any known tactics. Its a fixer so his willing to pay standard rates (what ever those are in your games) or a marker for said moneys if its too rich. (did we get expenses in our deal?)
2) have there been any other parties interested in acquiring our target? If so, who?
Etiquette: 1 2 4 4 5 7
Lt. Hicks (KE Sec Mage): higher than standard rates due to the info requested. What type of security would KE use in a facility of [size and sensitivity level of the target]? Numbers? Arms? Magical support, ect.? What type of responce could an incursion expect? Response times?
Tristan is VERY CAREFUL NOT TO GIVE SPECIFICS OR HINTS.Etiquette: 2 2 3 3 5 5
The next day is his golf outing w/ Mr. Bowen. He will offer no bribes as that would be out of character. During those 18 holes and over a few Gin and Tonics at the 19th Hole, Tristan will pump him for info on "Life as a Corp Scientist." Its part of some new sociology research he's conducting

Specificaly, how close would the scientist be watched? By whom? Levels of response to "odd" behavior? In addition to semi-trival bits such as compensation for said scientist, "perks", accomodations, etc... He'll also ask how the fam is (the wife and Katie). How retirement is going. General bulldrek and rich folk gossip, too. Remember, this is not a normal contact so Tristan will be careful around him.
Etiquette: 1 2 3 3 3 3
(wow, that was GREAT!

)
While at the Community, Trisatn will check in w/ Grounds Keeper Willie to get his take on the situation. What does he think of it, the compensation, the Target, the opposition, etc?
Etiquette: 2 2 3 4 8 13

If everyone could either PM or send their character to anomaly_of_the_void@hotmail.com it'd be muchly appreciated. As well, if you had the sheet in an Excel format, I've recently acquired a copy of Office, so I'll be able to accept sheets in that form.
