The part time front desk clerk/ corporate work study high schooler on the other end of the vid-phone may possibly have ruined his khakis. He nods repeatedly, and says.. ."ooooh ookay,... O'Dell and party in rooms 1507 and 15..ooh 8. I.. can change your keycodes over from here. But I can come up there and do it to, if you need me... to."

Caitlin mentally prepares to defend herself and her compatriots from any storm of mana brought down by the master of that watcher spirit. At present the astral plane remains calm though.

Things are rapidly packed by those who need to pack them, and the team is now prepared to move out, as soon as someone gives the order.

Nadia continues her sultry tones, "I think I can handle it if you take care of it from there, honey. But I'll be sure to call again if I have any problems."

With that she hangs up and immediately drops her act. "Drekhead," she mutters under her breath.

As Nadia was hanging up, George collapsed the stock on his Cobra. It was time to move, and he sure as hell didn't feel like walking around with a submachinegun out and ready. After securing it back in the quick detach sling, his larg Mortimer coat went back on and he started for the door.

"I know we're not going far" he threw over his shoulder "but you never know. With exposure comes danger".

He turned his head slightly to give a quick look to Nadia "as you've found out."

"If anything happens, Caitlin and I will square it out with the opposition. Nadia, you take Hobbes and get him to safety... get him some cover."

He made sure everyone had their gear before continuing.

"Let's move."

As the elevator door opens with its characteristic "BING", the party half expects to be confronted with black garbed gunmen and a hail of gunfire...

If there had been that, they would have been ready for it.

But there is nothing.. Just an empty elevator. The group enters, the doors close... It goes down one floor, the doors open with a "BING" and the group is confronted with a hallway... A lighted sign in red letters (in english, japanese, chinese and german) says

<--- 1500-1508 1509-1516---->

The bodyguards, with Prime in the center, moves towards their rooms. Sure to the front desk clerk's word, the rooms are side by side. Nadia's newest love interest has keyed the doors so that each key will open either door.

Taking the mag key he had gotten earlier today, George slotted it in the reader of room 1507. It was almost impossible that someone was already there, waiting for them... but the day had been filled with odd events. His right hand undid his hip holster securing strap: if he had to fast draw, he'd gain a few milliseconds.

As soon as the light on the reader turned green, the ork swiftly opened the door, scanning the room for threats.
Tashio
Markus strides up the stairs with a definate air of purpose in each step. He comes to a halt before one of the doormen.

"I am Mr Markus Ambrosie, I am a security consultant for Mr Bonapart who is staying here, I believe he arrived a few hours ago." He pauses a moment looking though the enterance to the chaos in the main lobby. "It seems I have arrived just in time."

Markus pauses long enough for the doorman to start to reply before cutting him off. "If you'd be so kind I need to see to my client and make sure he has not been inconvienienced by any of this."
Glyph
As George satisfies himself as to the physical security of the rooms, Caitlin's own movements are purposeful and assured, strangely at odds with her unfocused gaze. Actually, she is scanning the rooms for any astral presenses, coming up clean... for now.

"One, three, there are presently no astral threats in the immediate area."
Musashi Forever
Nadia busies herself by making sure that the curtains in both rooms are drawn.
Sicarius
The team's professional routine is somewhat disrupted by the scream of the cleaning lady, and a long chabbering in some kind of southeast asian language with which no one is familar. But the woman is quickly ushered out of the room by the bodyguards. George satisfies himself that no one else is in the rooms, and the shades are quickly drawn. Caitlin is satisfied that the astral realm is equally undisturbed.

The rooms consist of a single room, with a small bathroom attached. The bathrooms are very close to the front doors. a closet is opposite of the bathroom. Each room features a large queen bed, and a telecom along the opposite wall. There is also a small table and several chairs along side the windows, over which the curtains have been drawn.

They are, in short, exactly like every other hotel room that caters to corporate travelers, anywhere on the planet.

Markus stopped before the secuity guard.

"Certainly, I would speak with Mr Blossom first though please."
Mister Juan
"One; Group; All clear"

When the small group was assembled in one of the room, George decided it was as good as a moment than any to make a few things clear.

"After what happened downstairs, we're going to limit our exposure to the bare minimum. If you're thirsty..." he looked at the bathroom "tap water should do."

He looked back at Hobbes "until the deal goes down, "fancy" might get you killed".

The human looking ork's mirored eyes were then set on Nadia.

"What sort of gear were you planning on getting? Unless you feel like you can't properly operate without it... I'd say... stay here. The fact that the assassin knew who you were means that they probably know what all of us look like."

He sighed, heavily, then started making his way toward the door.

"Keep in touch with the radio. I'm going to walk the hallway to spot all the exits."

Without even waiting for an answer, George simply closed the door behind him.
Sicarius
2030, September 17th The Seattle Hilton, 15th floor hallway, Downtown, Seattle Metroplex, UCAS

George heades outside. The hallway continues a little more to his left, and terminates in a fire door. The door has an alarm marked clearly on it, but it also has a sign, indicating that the stairs only travel downward. As George heads in the other direction, he passes by the cleaning lady they'd suprised earlier, heading into room 1510, pushing her cart of cleaning supplies and toiletries. There are a row of elevators. The hallway in the other direction is much the same, and also ends in a stairwell, with a similar firedoor, but this one indicates that the stairwell travels up as well as down.

Back in 1507 and 1508, Hobbes turns to his remaining two security guards saying

"Well, Tomorrow will be a long day for me. So I'm going to bed. You guys have everything in hand here right?"

Hobbesheads into 1507, and closes (but doesn't lock) the adjoining door. A few mintues later the lights go out in the room.

"I'll be fine with what I've got," Nadia tells George.
Tashio
"Well then who IS in charge of security when Mr Blossom is NOT around," Markus raises his eyebrows slightly, brushing the datapad away.
Sicarius
The Security man behind the podium says, "The Security Shift Manager..."

There is a brief.. uncomfortable pause between the two, before the man adds...

"That would be me. Is there something specific, I can do for you?" He emphasis is on the "ICK" in specific.
Glyph
Caitlin waits until George gets back to speak, since the ork's errand didn't sound like one that would take too long.

"The client is sleeping now... he didn't lock the door. I don't know whether you want to stay in the same room to keep an eye on him, or not, but the rest of us should probably sleep in shifts, so at least one of us is awake at all times."
Musashi Forever
"One of you guys can get some sleep if you want to," Nadia volunteers. She looks to George, "What should we do about the boss in the room on his own?"
Mister Juan
finally, George took his shades off. He polished them a bit and hooked them in his collar.

"I'm not planning on sleeping at all. I brought a few doses of Long Haul. I can stay up for days if need be."

For once, some emotion cam thru the ork's voice. He didn't sound excited, that was for sure.

He looked at both woman, as if he was sizing them up.

"If one of you wants a dose, tell me. Just keep in mind it'll keep you up for 4 days straight."

He started massaging the back of his neck, as if talking about staying up made him tired.

"The crash period's a bitch though..."

George walked a few paces toward the connecting door.

"If I'm all clear on that, the meeting is tomorrow, at noon. Which means that is someone is to strike at our client, its going to be tonite, or tomorrow morning."

He turned around, resting his back agaisnt the wall.

"There are only two ways for someone to track Hobbes back here. Magic or Matrix. The fact that Caitlin saw a watcher earlier means that magical threats could be very serious."

The ork looked straight at Caitlin.

"If you have the ability to conjure up anything, now would be a great time. We need someone to watch the astral space around Hobbes... and I doubt you feel like doing that for the next 8 hours."

He slowly pushed the door open, just enough for him to slip in the room.

"Keep in touch" he threw over his shoulder.

Musashi Forever
"I guess staying up one night won't kill us,"Nadia says to Caitlin. "Unless you wanted some sleep."

Nadia takes a seat on their room's bed, placing her back against the head board. She pulls her pistol out of her bag and lays it on the bed next to her.

"He's right though," she continues. "A spirit or something would be a good idea. One of us should be in there with him, but the boss seemed to want some privacy."
Glyph
Caitlin shrugs. "I don't think George will be obtrusive at all in there, and our client can have all of the privacy he wants after the deal goes down." She smirks. "...Although he'll probably find that life at the top will mean getting used to bodyguards."

She shakes her head slightly at the comment about conjuring a spirit. "I can't call up spirits - my magical talents are limited to spells. That doesn't mean that I can't scan the astral plane for threats, or disrupt a spirit. I don't need to summon spirits to protect our client, though. I'm going to set up a magical ward to protect the client's room. It will block anything astrally active, and if something does get though, I'll still know immediately."

She turns to look at the other girl. "You might as well get a bit of sleep - this will probably take me about four hours to set up."
Musashi Forever
"Ok," Nadia says and stretches out on the bed. She transfers her pistol to the bedside table and removes her shoes. Sleeping in form-fitting armor was never fun, but she'd try to make the best of it.
Tashio
Markus leans in a bit positioning himself slightly between the man infront of himself and the other guards.

"Its simple, my client is concerned that should certain information of say the presence of himself or to a degree myself here, fall into the wrong hands it could potentialy bring all sorts of the wrong type of people here. People who may or may not have any concern for your life."

Markus turns slightly nodding towards the slowly quieting chaos off to the side.

"While I'm not sure the reason for that, it could posibly have been someone trying to find my client. I would not want to have any more of that happening here."

He pauses a moment turning back to the guard.

"While I am more than willing to provide the required documentation I am concerned for my clients safety... and the safety of others here."
Sicarius
The man grunts for a moment, seems to be sizing Markus up, and then says:

"okay. Give me the documentation, and I'll wait to enter it into the computer till I come in tomorrow. That should work for your needs right?"

If Markus agrees, the Security man scans his credstick for his SIN and registered permits, and than motions to allow the bodyguard to pass.
Tashio
"That is acceptable."

Markus moved into the main lobby area keeping an eye out on preceedings, heading towards the elevators.

With a ding the doors opened. Pressing the button for the 16th floor Markus watched the doors slowly close.
Sicarius
Markus presses the button for the 16th floor, but nothing happens. Pushing the button again, a small, cute computer generated voice says, "This floor requires passkey access. Please See the Front Desk for Assistance."

Tashio
Grumbling to himself he exits the lift and heads for the front desk.

Taping the desk he waits for the young man behind the counter to notice his presence.

"How may I be of assistance sir?"

"Yes, I am here to see Mr Bonapart, he is on the 16th floor I believe."
Mister Juan

George had been sitting, silently, in the dark for almost an hour now. When he had first entered the room, Hobbes was just about to turn in. The man was rather suprised by the ork's sudden arrival. After a quick apology, George had explained that he was simply going to stand guard for the whole night: he wouldn't bother him at all.

Somewhat reticent to have his privacy invaded in such a manner, Hobbes had finally fell asleep, after a lot of tossing and turning.

The ork had taken the sole armchair of the room, and pushed it in a corner, away from the window, so that he could see both entrance to the bedroom. His Colt Cobra, unclipped from its harness, was resting on a small coffee table.

In a few hours, George's alterness would start to falter as groginess took over. At that moment, he would take his first dose of Long Haul. Even though it would probably out last the job itself, the dose would keep him awake long enough for him to get the job done.

Another thing bothered him: the "extra help" that associates of Hobbes were sending in. There was clearly a security breach somewhere along the line... a breach which had allowed an assassin to locate them. Nadia had been lucky enough to get out unscate, but the fact still bothered George. None of them knew what this "extra help" looked like. They had no name, no description, no meeting point. Odds were, it was even possible that he couldn't locate them... but moving rooms was simply the logical reaction.

George wondered: if the drek did hit the fan... how far would he go to protect Hobbes... And what about those two women? He barely knew them, and yet, he felt some sort of responsibility toward them. Up to now, they had follow every single directive he had given, without questionning them. The ork hopped that it was because his ideas were good... and not because the women were so fresh in the biz that they had no idea what to do unless you told them.

As he stretched in his seat, he decided that, in a few hours, he'd wake Nadia up. He need some time to look at that datachip Miron had gotten him. Maybe he'd fine a few clues about who was out to get Hobbes.
Glyph
When George comes out of the room, he sees Caitlin sitting in a lotus position on the floor. Her eyes look slightly unfocused, and might be glowing slightly - or that could just be a reflection from the minimal light. Occasionally one of her hands will lift up and make a slight twitching gesture. She is obviously doing something magical, something requiring concentration. She does seem to notice you, before going back to whatever she's doing, so at least her concentration isn't making her oblivious.

Deeply immersed in warding Hobbes' sleeping quarters, Caitlin can only spare a slight nod as George silently pads out of the room, presumaby to wake up Nadia for something. She continues setting up the ward. Most awakened people that she knows find it tedious, but she finds it both relaxing and engrossing, herself. It's like knitting, or painting, only weaving energy, painting with light.
Sicarius
The front desk clerk is a pimply faced youth of perhaps 17 or 18. His badge says, "Trainee." As Markus asks about Bonaparte his eyes seem to get wide, as if he recognizes the name. His eyes shift upward and to the side slightly, before he says,

"Mr.Bonaparte has set his telecom to do not disturb. Can I leave him a message for you?

As Markus stands at the front desk he gets the opportunity to keep an eye on the disturbance in the lobby. It appears to have originated in the sports bar. As Markus watches, the plainscloth lone star guy puts a pocket secretary into which he had been taking notes, into his pocket, and he begins to head out the door.

So whatever it was it must not have been that serious.

"How about No," Markus leans forward a little. "I am here to see him, he is expecting me, I am already late as it is due to the runaround given to my by your security, and I don't think He, or I for that matter, would appreciate being delayed any further. Now I would appreciate it if you would contact him and let him know I am here, or simply give me access key and I'll let myself in."

The corporate work-study nerd blinks rapidly, and reaches out for the phone, mashing a handful of numbers, while glancing up at you rapidly.

In the "O'Dell's room" the telecom rings loudly in the room where Nadia sleeps and Caitlin wards..

Nadia or Caitlin (whoever picks up the phone), and Markus

[ Spoiler ]

Musashi Forever
Nadia wipes some of the sleep out her eyes. Damn it! I had just fallen asleep.

She answers the phone. After a moment to puzzle out what was being said, she realizes that this was probably connected to the last phone call they had received as they left the suite.

"Yeah, put him on," she tells the clerk, keeping the video receiver turned off.

As she waits out the pause in conversation, Nadia cups her hand over the audio pick-up and says to Caitlin "Someone downstairs is here to talk to us. They knew about Bonaparte."
Glyph
Caitlin, who still seems to be concentrating on putting the finishing touches on her ward, can only offer a slight nod to indicate that she has heard Nadia.

"Juuust a bit longer, and it'll be done," she thinks.

"No," Nadia says icily. "I said to put him on. I'm already pissed because you told someone about our new room. I guess this means you're not getting that tip i mentioned earlier."
Sicarius

Nadia hears a sigh of pent up young male frustration, before he says,

"Here."

The front desk dweeb hand Markus the phone, and then turn his back on the converstation.

Tashio
Markus shook his head as the man thrust the phone in his direction.

"Hi, I believe you were informed by my client that I would be arriving. I trust Mr Bonapart is still well. Seeing as we are going to be working towards the same goals I would like to meet you so I know who you are."

He pauses awaiting an answer.
Musashi Forever
"How do I know that I can trust you?" Nadia asks. She didn't want to go anywhere. The last time she had left the room she'd been shot at.
Tashio
"You can't, but I do know the name of your employer is registered under and I do know you were informed that by my employer that they were sending someone over."
Musashi Forever
"Hold on a moment," Nadia says as she hits the phone's mute and blank video buttons.

She activates her radio, "One, this is three. There's a guy from a security company on the phone who knows who we are and who our package is. He wants to make contact. What should I do?"
Mister Juan
George shifted his weigh in his chair as Nadia's voice echoed softly in his ear. All while thinking, he slowly pushed the transmit button, keeping his voice to a murmur.

No reason to wake him up.

"One; Three; since he's on the phone, he probably already knows what floor we are on. Tell him to come up, but don't give him the room number. I'll intercept him in the hallway and check him out. Over"

The ork slowly got out of his armchair, trying to make as little noise as possible, and exited the room, into the hallway.

He felt slightly ridicule, wearing his long coat inside... But it was still better than crossing path with a patron, while totting an SMG.
Musashi Forever
"Understood, One."

Nadia smiled, she was getting good at this tactical radio stuff.

Going back to the telecom, she unmuted it and reactivated the video pick-up. "Come on up," she tells the man, then abruptly hangs up the phone.

After the call is disconnected, she puts her shoes and socks back on and readies her weapon, just in case.
Tashio
Markus hands the telephone back to the guy behind the counter.

"Thanks, what is the room number?"
Sicarius
The desk clerk, whose frustration and confusion is reaching peek levels as he realizes that, regardless of the outcome of this very strange serious of events, his chance of keeping his job are rapidly narrowing.

"Follow me," He says, after a long pause, stepping out behind the desk to escort Markus the distance to the Elevator.

"Bing"

The elevator door opens, the pimply faced clerk hits the 16th floor, swipes a master key, and than steps out.

"later" says the clerk, as the door closes, and Markus heads up.

Markus slowly enters the room alert to whats happening around him.

There should be people around and more than one person, this does not seem right. They were expecting me, of course they might not trust me.

His hand shifts to inside his jacket, his fingers closing around his weapon. He listens for a short while waiting to see if the sound from the bedroom continues.
Sicarius
Markus's headware filters out the distinct sound of a boot shifting ontop of crushed glass. The sound is definetely coming from the master bedroom, after that brief sound, there is silence.
Tashio
Markus drew his gun, slowly moving forward towards the bedroom, trying to keep out of direct sight. He continued to watch for movement and listen for sound, taking note of any other possible paths from the main bedroom to where he currently was.

No-one walks over glass if they have broken something and they would definatly ask for help.
Mister Juan
As the elevator narrowed the gap to the 15th floor, George could feel his whole body tense up. His wired reflexes had been constantly running crazy, and it was slowly starting to get a toll.

When the elevator kept on his way and stopped one floor above his position, the ork couldn't help himself but frown.

What the frag?

"Who've got to be kidding me..." he spoke outloud for himself.

He grabbed his collar with one hand, the other one slightly pressing his ear piece in.

"One; all; the fragging clerk sent the guy up to our old location..."

George was already walking toward the elevator, magkey in hand when he added "I'll go get him... Sit tight."

The large ork pressed the call button, cursing under his breath.

"This is fragging ridiculous..."
Sicarius
There is only one path to the Master Bedroom, which is on the left side of perhaps 5 meters worth of hallway. Just as Markus is about to turn the corner into this halway, he finds himself confronted with a black clad attacker. The body shape and size suggest a male. A black balaclava prohibit determining if its a elf, human or ork. The enemy was in a low crouch, a wicked looking fighting knife in his hand.

Tashio
Markus leveled his gun at the attacker, backing off a couple steps, prepairing to fire if he made a sudden move to attack.

Mentaly he switched the weapon to burst fire, the crosshairs appearing in his field of vision, his reflexes boosted to maximum.
