Sicarius
I know I do. donno about Heather.
Foxx
Heather has a cyber mic. How do I go about putting the encryption into her current headware.
Sicarius
I figured I just hooked it into your data jack and you uploaded it.
Musashi Forever
Sorry for the delay guys, busy weekend. I'll have a big IC post for you tomorrow. Thanks for your paitience...of course, if you complain, I'll just kill your character. dead.gif
brohopcp
What if my character complains? Will you kill me?

LoL. I doubt it. You've got the law...and a glock on your side wink.gif

This is shaping up to be really cool. smile.gif

Glad that you think so. Glad to have you back too. How was the "Big Easy"?
Musashi Forever
Right now the Johnson could say "Ok," and the financial end of the deal would be sealed. If you want to talk about more nuyen, this would be the time.
Sicarius
that's what 70,000 a piece? Its difficult to tell if that's a fair price or not, since GMs reactions to monetary value differs.
Cedric Rolfsson
No that's not fair!! Do you people have any idea how much a Force 4 Power Focus costs?!? smile.gif

I'd suggest we make a price bump simply on the basis that no one goes into these negotiations at their base price. I'd suggest a opening position of 85,000 a piece.

We may also want to set a monetary value on each mission objective, like we get 65K for grabbing the rock, an additional 15K for icing all the researchers, and 10k if we blow up their training facility or something like that. Sort of a reward for each objective acheived rather than a flat fee for all objectives and the assumption we stay there till we meet the goals or die trying.

We need to clarify that anything we recover beyond the stated mission goals, (bring back rock, kill researchers) belongs to us.
Sicarius
I have no idea whose negotiation is best. but i like the plan of the bonuses for objectives.
brohopcp
If we don't have the information related to the mission, we will not set the price. Once that information comes forth, we can determine whether the price is equal or above the mission value. Otherwise, we walk or negotiate then. If you insist upon us negotiating now, we will get a significant raise because the Johnson is forcing us to trust him.

(f.y.i. I think C.J.'s negotiation is highest)
Musashi Forever
Hmmm, you're right. I think I wrote it a little wrong. Let's wait for the negotiation rolls then.
Cedric Rolfsson
Question, I am assuming that until I mention it Mace remains perceiving astrally, correct? I won't have to re-post switching to astral perceptions. Obviously I'll assense the newcomers when they come in to the room.

[ Spoiler ]
Musashi Forever
Sorry if you all were confused. I did not mean to end the last IC post that way. I have fixed it and the ball is in the PC's court.

Cedric: With everything I had to write for that post I did not want to take the time to write about your assensing tests. You probably would not have figured out anything that the post didn't take care of. Two were cybered, one was magic, they were pissed and hurt.
Cedric Rolfsson
Ya, well with the assensing roll I had I wouldn't have been surprised if they all showed as happy and friendly.

Sokay, thanks for the post though.
Musashi Forever
Sorry that it has been sluggish this past week guys. I will post today and after that, thigs should start rolling a little smoother.

I hope you like that game so far and thanks for bearing with me.
Sicarius
I'm having a good time. I liked your last post. Our Johnson seems like a mean mother shut your mouth.. so we better not screw up.
Foxx
No problem, I know real life has a tendency to throw a curve ball every once and a while.
Musashi Forever
Could I get email address from everyone? I have a map of the island that I'd like you to see. You can PM them to me, post them here, or email me at Palooka.Kolbe@gmail.com.

Thanks
Sicarius
Initative Roll for Cryptic

[ Spoiler ]

Musashi Forever
Please no more IC post involving character actions until after initiative has been decided.

I will compute everything and then let you know when you make action posts.

If anyone knows a sure-fire way of handling combat situation in forum-format let me know.

C.J.'s Initiative

Cedric Rolfsson
Alright, this will teach me to come to a meeting without bringing a gun. I thought I was being politically correct, now I'm screwed.

Does anyone happen to know if an Increased Reflexes spell adds +2 per level to Reaction? I don't have my books at work and didn't write it down

I thought it would make for some interesting game play, it seems VERY likely to come up during game play and makes the use of those especially difficult for my character. I'm not sure if it is common or uncommon but what the hey.

Ok, here is the order of initiatives. When it is your turn, write in the OOC thread what you want your character to do and make the appropriate dice checks. After everything is squared, make a post in the IC thread describing your character's actions.

Opposition
Johnson's Men
Snake
Mace
Johnson
Cryptic
Opposition
Heather
C.J.
Opposition

I will make an IC post for the opposition and the Johnson's men right now and then we can get started with everyone else.

If this seems like a really stupid way of doing this let me know and we can change it.
Musashi Forever
I worked up a map of Nitti's that might help us a little. Watch your emails.

Cedric Rolfsson
Mace reaches under his jacket and feels around then squints his eyes tight and scruches his face into a look of extreme concentration and wishes REALLY REALLY hard that he'd brought his SMG.

Otherwise he'll hold his action and wait for C.J. to call the tune.
Musashi Forever
Sounds good Cedric. If you want to hold your action, you don't have to wait for your turn, just announce it now and you can jump in if you feel the need.
Foxx

Cedric Rolfsson
When you say announce it, does that mean I do an IC post or an OOC post? I'm not sure how you want combat posting handled.
Musashi Forever
Hey Sicarius, how exatly were you running this stuff in your game? That seemed to work pretty well.
Sicarius
Well, I have fewer players, but I was doing it per initative pass. with each player outlining OOC his intentions. So for instance:

Cryptic Intiative Pass 13

Simple Action 1: Pulls Heavy Pistol
Simple Action 2: Taking cover behind chair and crying like a baby.

Intiative Pass 3

Simple action 1: Fire HP (attack roll in spoilers)
Simple Action 2: FIre HP (attack roll in spoilers)

each Character carries those out, the GM posts what the NPCs are doing, allowing the PCs to respond if need be (damage soaking etc) Than the GM makes 1 post IC, including the entire Combat phase.
Musashi Forever
Are you guys ok with that or do you want to make your own IC posts?
Sicarius
I preferred it that way, because you get to see the whole combat move in one continuous flow, instead of seeming disjointed. Its similar to what I would do in a table top game, with the players explaining their actions and rolling dice, and than the GM describing the outcomes.

But if someone has a better idea, i might steal it for my own game as well!
brohopcp
I like Cryptic's system, it moves the initiative along. And don't get me wrong, I'd like to try it this way. But, it seems that one problem occurs when things might happen with the faster players that changes the lower initiative posts.

i.e., Cryptic just shot a guy's head off, C.J. was gonna rip that guys eyeballs out with his fingernails. No head = no eyeballs to rip out, how's C.J. gonna sate his bloodlust now?

This problem might also be more evident when people start rolling 21's and 31's on their init. How has that worked in your game Sicarius?

In my PBP game elsewhere, I'll use PM's to ask for actions for each person's turn, then post IC what happens. It sometimes drags, which is annoying.
Sicarius
agree, it might slow things down to have players need to come back and change their initative passes, but that's what i'd have them do. But my games tend to be brief decisive violence which rarely last more than one combat turn, where as if we are in a long term fire fight lasting full mintues. (possible in a mercenary campaign i suppose) it might not be that effective. <Shrug>

Your on your own for decision making Mush.
one eyed bat
Snake is just going to follow the men to the Johnson's room.
Cedric Rolfsson
I tend to like to post my own character's combat actions, simply I enjoy the writing that and think its a good opportunity for character building.
Foxx
At the moment, Heather is going to go with the Johnsons boys, also drawing her hand guns as well.
Musashi Forever
Ok, I will write the IC actions for everyone except those who wish to write their own. Right now that includes Cedric. Anyone else should chime in now. I will post for Snake and Heather later today.
Sicarius
BTW, Cryptic is pulling his Browning Max-Power (Simple Action).

Can I delay the second action or do i have to delay the whole turn?
if I can, Delay the second simple action.
brohopcp
I'l let ya right it fer me, u b mur litrate then me aneway... biggrin.gif
Cedric Rolfsson
If I'm the only hold out then just tack me in as well, I don't want to slow things down and I don't care that much.
Musashi Forever
Anyone who wants to write their own IC posts still needs to ok everything with me. I will tell them when to post. This may slow us down, but I think it will work out.

After re-reading the delayed actions rules. I am going to declare that you have to delay your entire action if you choose to delay at all. So Cryptic drawing his pistol uses a simple action, but since you do not wish for him to do anything else, he is done until the next combat phase. So what I'm getting at is that you can either delay all or nothing.
Sicarius
that's cool. I will indeed pull the pistol.
